Tip for batch Painting: If you've got 20 termagaunts or 10 infernus marines to batch paint, dont do all at once per step. Break it up to five units to be completed each time, otherwise the tedium will get to you and it makes it a chore rather than a hobby. Batch paint 5 Marines, then 5-10 termagaunts, move on to rippers ect then back to the big unit count again, it breaks up the monotony, you will start to hate it if your assembly line paiting 20 termagaunts per step.....
Best advice for new batch painters, so unbelievably true never do more than 5 Unless you want to develop a savage hate for that particular paint color lol especially If it's one that doesn't coat that well or you have to do multiple coat etc
Honestly, I think this is the most real paint work I've ever seen from GW personally. I like that you got to see the little 'Oopsie!' moments. Like when she accidentally got some red on the armor while painting the face mask on the Infernus sergeant @6:00 I've always hated the 'Let's start painting the section of the model, then super fast forward until it's done to show what it looks like when complete without mistakes.'
I love that they have easy paint guides for beginners or people eager to get them on the table. Even if this isnt for me I have a lot of respect for it. Still think Im gonna see a sea of Grey plastic in the shop for a long long time xD
Such a great and entertaining tutorial! Really well done! Lizzie's voice-over is spot on, as are her jokes! Hope you guys make more entertaining videos like this in the future.
I'm glad you continue to post videos like these! I've got some ideas and paint schemes from official GW videos before and was worried you werent doing them anymore
Thanks for a great video Lizzie (and team). This format was great and it's really nice to be able to comment so I can say I enjoyed it! I'm still catching up on my models from Indomitus so it'll be a while before I get to the new Tyranids! 😅
You can mix paints, ultra blue + grey seer gives you calgar blue for example. Also the lahmian medium is really good to make different coloured washes from normal paints.
Honestly and this is how I’ve always done it, I put ear buds in and listen to an audio book or music, and just focus on one model at a time. Now I stay with the same faction so I don’t have 60+ paints out before I move onto a different faction. Once you get a rhythm going time just flies by.
I'm picking this up after a few years as my brother bought a few of these and asked if i wanted to have 1 box of the space marine half so i paid him and im coming back so this helped but im painting them white and gold though
Thank you so much for making such kind and easy to follow tutorials!!! I remember some of the very first y’all posted which I followed dutifully as a kid. And now with this I can help my partner on his hobby journey. Also,,,where may I buy the mat with base sizes???
This us my first box with my only other model being the parasite if mortrex and i cant lie this is the step i dread not because i dont wanna do it but simply because i dont want to mess up its sorta overwhelming 250 in and hoping not to make a mess of these beauties.
Hello and thank you for the videos! I cant seem to find the base painting video, any chance you can link me to that one? its the final missing piece before I start. kind regards
I am surprised by the lack of contrast paints. These were designed for speedpainting? edit: nvm I spoke too soon. There were multiple frames of paints.
It would be great to have a similar video but just contrast method...I bought all the contrast paints indicated on GW's website but have to "hunt" individual videos for each model for contrast method. :(
just ordered a box i surprised i still found a box anyway my bugs will be hive fleet behemoth like the battle for macragge just like old times wean i just stared
Hi Lee! Warhammer 40,000: Leviathan is sold out online, but you can still head to your local store on the 24th of June for your chance to grab a copy: bit.ly/3fVxfT8. Thanks!

Thankyou for these guides. As a new painter they are very friendly and easy to follow :3
Welcome to the hobby!
The app is great aswell, I’m new also 😊

As a guard player with 80 Cadians, I agree... haha
That was invaluable advice not only for newer painters, but some of us more experienced painters can benefit from it as well. Nice!
I let my kids use them for practice. I don't care about them.
Honestly, I think this is the most real paint work I've ever seen from GW personally. I like that you got to see the little 'Oopsie!' moments. Excellent guide. Lizzie does a great job on these painting tutorials.
Does she have an IG? Would love to see her ither work if she posts
As someone who will have to face this massive box in a couple days, this will definitely be a great help.
I love that they have easy paint guides for beginners or people eager to get them on the table. Even if this isnt for me I have a lot of respect for it. Still think Im gonna see a sea of Grey plastic in the shop for a long long time xD
Thank you for all the painting videos for the minis from the box, looking forward to recieving mine soon and painting them up!
Or.......marry a commission painter.
Lolz that's a solution I guess 🤣
That's where we can come in handy
Is this something you did?
I'm available 😘

That is such an efficient and cool looking Apothecary. One of the best I've seen on youtube.
I'd like to thank the artist in this video. I followed the guide and painted the Leviathan Box! Took me about a year.
I can't wait to apply these techniques when I get the box set myself!
Such a great and entertaining tutorial! Really well done! Lizzie's voice-over is spot on, as are her jokes! Hope you guys make more entertaining videos like this in the future.
Oooo comments are on! It’s so nice to hear about other’s painting tips and experiences of Leviathan on a video about painting the Leviathan Box!
I'm glad you continue to post videos like these! I've got some ideas and paint schemes from official GW videos before and was worried you werent doing them anymore
Love these guides! I've been collecting for a while, but I've got a Leviathan pre-order coming and looking forward to playing for the first time!
It would be great if you could do more guides for other Space Marine chapters.
I'd love to see that Infernus Squad painted up as Salamanders
This is bloody excellent, I hope we get one of these for Skaventide later.
Great job on Leviathan release
Wonderfully done tutorial! Thank you so much!!!
Thanks for a great video Lizzie (and team). This format was great and it's really nice to be able to comment so I can say I enjoyed it! I'm still catching up on my models from Indomitus so it'll be a while before I get to the new Tyranids! 😅
That's a slightly daunting amount of paints. Hopefully I can make it work with fewer.
Can mix paints, just can be a bit more painful and time consuming
You can mix paints, ultra blue + grey seer gives you calgar blue for example. Also the lahmian medium is really good to make different coloured washes from normal paints.
Ooh comments are on! Brilliant video, and love the blooper in there too. Well done all! 🙂
Step 1:- Paint Tyranids as Leviathan.
Step 2:- Paint Space Marines as Flesh Tearers.
Based space marine chapter
That series has been so good :)

Great job Lizzie.
Love it. Can´t wait to get my hands on a box.
I preordered mine and I can’t wait for it to arrive!!!!
Oooh batch painting tips...
Thank you for this compilation guide!
Glad it was helpful!
Good idea, great job Liz
I'm picking this up after a few years as my brother bought a few of these and asked if i wanted to have 1 box of the space marine half so i paid him and im coming back so this helped but im painting them white and gold though
Comments are open!! Wooooo!!!!
Thank the lord I can finally learn how to paint all the new bugs!!!
This is so cool, thanks! 🖤🔥

Also,,,where may I buy the mat with base sizes???
Hopefully all(or most) these paints are going to be in the paintz+tools set for 10th ed.
So helpful
I I think black templars would look cool:)
Looks good, but I'm definitely going to be painting my Astartes up as Blood Angels, not Ultramarines!
For the Emperor and Sanguinius! DEATH! DEATH!

Comments for the comments god!
Thumbs for the thumb throne!
Spray prime all black, consider them Templars…..even the nids. Become Ungovernable.
Jokes aside, love the videos!
Hello and thank you for the videos! I cant seem to find the base painting video, any chance you can link me to that one? its the final missing piece before I start. kind regards

First of all you have to buy it somehow. I was out of city when you started the sales. Missed my chance.
Head into your local store on the 24th of June where you might be able to grab a copy: bit.ly/3fVxfT8
My buddy is gonna do the nids. Im doing the marines...Marines Malevolent style!
It's the perfect friendship!
I've been wondering how to paint Salamanders or Alpha Legion, but i dont think Alpha Legion exists still
Will there be a starter paint set coming out to cover the paints? I was holding off buying the paints in case there is.
I totally thought the painter's nails were painted to match the purple for the nid carapace at first lmfao
I think a spray can would be most efficient. But the box has some really nice art on it, why would you want to paint over that?
any advice on getting the blue power axe look on the librarians axe instead of the basic metal one?
I am surprised by the lack of contrast paints. These were designed for speedpainting? edit: nvm I spoke too soon. There were multiple frames of paints.
Which Tyranides paint do you recommend for beginner ? Thank you
Is it possible to put a list of used paints on the description/comments for use as reference?
Thanks for the suggestion - we've added a list of paints with some handy links!

Hi 👋
0:19 where can i get that mat
Art shops usually have them. It’s called a cutting mat.
It would be great to have a similar video but just contrast method...I bought all the contrast paints indicated on GW's website but have to "hunt" individual videos for each model for contrast method. :(
What cutting mat is she using?
Glad to hear the inquisition will not be coming for me
can you enable translation subtitles for your channel?
that would be really handy
Shows 3 ripper swarms, box only comes with 2 rip-a-roni
