    As always Ron has great content. So knowledgeable and tells it like it is. Doesn’t post a lot but when he does I watch. Great respect.

      Thank you so much bro for the encouraging words.
      For the last 3 weeks now I've been trying to put out content at least twice a week. I like to do mostly the comparison videos that type of thing, but folks have let me know they really enjoy these videos where I just talked about some of my records. 😊
      so glad you're enjoying the videos.

    That Christopher Cross album has "good bones" as they say. It's very well recorded and that Japanese version is just great. There's a certain way the drums and percussion were recorded on those slick LA Pop/Yacht Rock style records of that era that is just awesome!

      Thank you very much for subscribing as a new subscriber I have to let you know I have over 200 videos and a lot of the videos I do are about comparing different record pressings. Which ones make your stereo sound better?
      I was probably the first guy on UA-cam to ever do this type of stuff because from the videos I was watching it was only folks just showing their records and I wanted to do something a little different. But lately I've been getting a lot of encouragement I'm just about showing records in my collection. Hope you enjoy the back catalog of videos. Please let me know your thoughts on the older videos. thanks for the great feedback much appreciated 🔥

      Yeah, in all these years of collecting vinyl, I've never really gotten around to checking Budgie out.
      So, I'm glad Ron mentioned him, so I'm downloading like the first 5, albums I think up to Bandolier right now in FLAC to check them out 😁

    Another excellent one Ron! 👍 But, Bro, you really should have Electric by The Cult! Love is excellent, but the 1st US pressing of Electric has WAY better sound, it is a DMM pressing and quite dynamic! I don't know if your Japanese of Love sounds good, but the 1st US did not sound very good at all, so I got the 1st UK pressing which is much better. Maybe the Japanese you have is similar. No, you're right Ron... The 1st Captain Beyond is by *FAR* the best, the others don't even come close. That one is a true Classic, and I wouldn't have known about it if you hadn't showed it recently. Like I told you in one of my prior posts, I found a lovely, clean US pressing on eBay and the nice fellow seller allowed me to get it for $20 less instead of the $30 he was asking. FANTASTIC album! I'm so glad you turned me onto it, thanks!
    Heh, I almost never listen to them (just like you) but I have the exact same (ONLY one from each artist like you) from Harry Chapin and also the Christopher Cross. Heh, Ron, you are so funny... That is the only DEVO album you have? 😁 I have it too and it is indeed a great album, but Bro... You GOTTA have the rest of them too man! BTW, at your mention, I'm now checking out Budgie, of which I do not have any of his, thanks!
    And I like your comment, like we had also talked about, just how many records can you really listen to. In over 40 years of doing this, I have a little over 2500 albums. BUT... I have always tried to be *VERY* judicious in what I buy, only buying what I REALLY like and want to keep. I've NEVER been one of these 'completists' because it has never made any sense to buy stuff you don't like and won't listen to 😊 So, a lot of what I have even from long ago may be some more obscure stuff or old Funk bands that aren't around anymore, etc. So, I do want to keep what I have mostly, but I am still VERY careful what I choose to buy and I don't really buy that much unless I REALLY want something. Like just recently, I agonized whether I wanted to try one of the Analog Productions 2-45 pressings of The Doors, which EVERYONE is raving about. But, I don't necessarily like all their albums equally. So, I checked the early German pressing of the S/T that I have, and it really did not sound very good, so I grudgingly went ahead and got just that one. And YES! It does sound great 😁 The AP 2-45 of Jethro Tull's Stand Up is also even more stunning, but it was several months between buying those two and that is likely it for now...

      Yeah you got to pace yourself on those $60 records lol I'll have to check out that electric by the cult well we have that in common then we have the some of the same one only records probably a few others have the same ones Cheers bro

      @latheofheaven 10 місяців тому

      @@RocknRonni Yes, seriously Ron, you really need to check out that US DMM pressing of Electric, I don't THINK it's very expensive. It really is very good! Even if you don't get the early DEVO album, you absolutely HAVE to hear their version of Are You Experienced, it is one of their most intriguing songs.

      Hey Dave I watched the Chad kassam video as well I watched it up until he showed the Donovan record and how it had a 45 RPM so I stopped the video and I went over to eBay and I found one and I bought it so now actually I have two Donovan Records but not until the mailman comes. How about them apples bro you weren't expecting that response 😎 that reminds me I need to watch the rest of the video 😊

    The way I look at collecting is , you may not play certain records in a year, but you might get an erge to play a certain release you hardly listen to! If you keep it, its there for for you! I have a lot of records i may not keep in rotation, but i know its there if i eveer get a hankering to hear it, isnt that part of the collecting experience? I can see if you don't have the room though, that's a different beast!😊

    • @RocknRonni
      @RocknRonni  10 місяців тому

      As long-term collectors we all have at least a thousand records so there's always going to be records in our collection that we don't play even in a year but you can't get rid of everything and you can't have everything it's a balancing act.
      I just showed four copies of Captain beyond I not getting rid of any of them. I need to have them all lol
