Perfect, mate. Have now saved this one on my Arnhem playlist. Will follow it step by step - whenever I receive the kickstarter. Should be here in the next couple of weeks. 🤞🏻
That's awesome, thank you so much 🙌 I actually did a more comprehensive painting tutorial on the Arnhem Heroes kickstarter just in case you haven't had a chance to see it 😀
Very nice work, mate. I like "A Bridge too far". But in many ways it is "too far" from reality. I recommend the book "Arnhem: Myth and Reality: Airborne Warfare, Air Power and the Failure of Operation Market Garden" by Sebastian Ritchie to you. (Don't read it if you are a Monty -fan!) It has some very good explanaitions about why the operation failed - why it Had to fail. Spoiler: It also has the a plausible assumption what "A bridge tp far" meant.
Oh yeah for sure, very far from reality but still, great film making! Honestly, the blame lies on a lot of people and not just Monty. I think he is easy to blame but my biggest issue has always been with Frederick Browning and having his entire HQ being airlifted on the first lift reducing the 1st Airborne man power. Anyway, that is a debate for another day lol
I'm sorry but did you just say you were painting in gold on the smock buttons. Gold on an operational uniform so that the camouflage has those nice little sparkly bits to reflect the light just in case the camouflage was working. There were no brass buttons on operational uniforms. Just like the badge on the beret was painted black on operations. Your poetic licence has less reign in historical figures.
Thanks for the information buddy 👍 Naturally gold was used to make those particular details stand out, I wouldn't use it on a diorama for instance 😬 I was using the IWM denison smock as reference and on their picture they're shiny so I think a little shine is ok 😋
Saw A bridge too far at the pictures in 1977 I was about nine I was obsessed with it for years along with cross of iron very happy days
Oh wow, that's awesome 👌 they don't make movies like that anymore 😔
@@paintingpanzers it's all American stuff
17 September falls on a Sunday this year too, just as it did in 1944. Whoa Mohammed!
Oh wow, that's awesome 👌
