whatever the case is, wonhee shouldn’t be the one monitoring the chat - shouldn’t that be a manager’s job? why make one of the people they’re talking about have to be the one to report it, wouldn’t that only make her feel more self conscious and badly about herself?

The artists check comments themselves, I’ve seen Sunoo giving hearts to comments on weverse a lot, and I’ve seen them read comments while on live countless times.

(sigh) It's the staff member's job to be moderating the chats and reporting the negative comments off camera. The staff shouldn't be giving this job to the actual idols who these negative comments are targeted to, especially not while their live on camera. Why even do a livestream while this whole drama is still going on? Who thought that would've been a smart idea? C'mon HYBE and BeLift do better protecting your artists!
I've once watched a livestream in which the fans were aggressively reporting comments that were not even hateful but cringe (like "marry me" or shipnames). If neither the staff nor the fans can protect illit's members from seeing a bunch of negative comments then they really are in a very vulnerable state right now.

The only way Le Sserafim is going to overcome the backlash is if they sing live and do it well. They need to show their abilities somehow in a way that cannot be disputed.

@@user-rb4sw4qg3q Erm, Twice did receive plenty of backlash for their vocals over the years. Especially on encore stages. I think it’s just a case of so many groups have poor vocals now everyone’s complaints are finally coming to a head and Le Sserafim are unfortunately just the lightning rod for all this criticism at the moment.
In my opinion i don't really get the concept of temporary group, of course after that you get attached to a group and they disband you'll feel heartbroken
It s true but we know it since the beginning and if you ask, the goal of this survivals shows is, for the members, to buikt a big fanbase for their futur group in their current company (for ex hiyyih is from Ist entertainment). Its works a lot and we see it with ive or Lesserafim. Kep1er don t come from big companys (or maybe bahiyyih, xiaoting and hikaru) so it s more simple in my opinion to continu as kep1er. Only 147entertaiment have already a futur idea for mashiro and yeseo with limemight...
And if we are real aren’t MOST kpop groups temporary lol like how many groups are in their 10th-15th year as a unit no members lost still consistently releasing music lol? Far and few.
Survival show that debut temporary groups because it’s for promotion of individual, include big and small companies, all contestants were ex trainees (they can have a company pick up after gaining fans on show)/ or currently training and they need promotion then coming back to their company and gain fans after (like Yujin, Wonyoung, Chaewon, Sakura from IZ*ONE to IVE and LE SSERAFIM, they alr have a stable fanbase before coming back to their agency)!

They're starting to get individual activities and brand deals, can now participate in writing and producing, have a reality show where they interview different idols and celebs, and have been dropping more content on their UA-cam channel. Plus, they're going in a more streamlined musical direction on the K side now if they keep up the Giddy/Galileo sound going ahead (the Japanese musical direction has been consistent since the beginning). I hope that if they're going through with the extension, they'll be able to tour and put out at least two more final projects! As well, I hope their companies negotiated better deals for better management. Can only hope though! 🙏🏽

@@IVEREIStan Izone couldn't renew because they were, individually, very popular and had plans prior to D-Day. Their companies wanted them back because by the time they disbanded, it was more profitable to debut them again, and more timely considering that it was the end of 4th gen. I don't think Kep1er has that, respectfully, as a Kep1ian.
Many of the speculated plans, outside of two members joining Limelight, are not set in stone as far as people know. More time in Kep1er gives companies not only more profit (despite the "flop" allegations, Kep1er are a solidly mid-tier group, and do make money. Not to mention very popular in Japan, which is a huge music market), but also more time to set up plans for the members after they disband from Kep1er without keeping them in a dungeon.
Even saying all this, more news just came out that the negotiations failed and they may still disband. So I think W1 is playing the "will they/won't they" card to dangle the carrot to Kep1ians and get interest for Kep1er's last comeback from non-fans. My personal opinion is now firmly in the "they will disband" camp, and unless news comes out with firm confirmation of a contract extension, then I will take every other story that comes out likes this with a grain of salt now.

Most IZ*One and I.O.I members have company background that support them to boost up their individual popularity since being in temporary group. While it's not with Kep1er. Thank you for saying this. Most Kep1er members is on their own in industry with no backup. That's why they choose to stick together after temporary contract ends.

Also after the encores and Coachella, everyones eyes are on lesserafim's vocals, they really need some proper training and the critics are valid but the hate seriously got out hand

People maybe have a mistake about idols and singer. I think idol mainly forcus on performance on stage and Singer/diva should be the best in singing. I think KPop stan should know what generation will fit their taste. If they want to enjoy the performance with young beautiful idol, stay for new generation. If they want to hear a decent vocal, welcome to older generation. Stop being hateful because we all came to KPop to enjoy not to hate each other.
They could pull an aespa (they were hated for lypsinc and bad stage presence) or Ive (their live vocals is getting BETTER).
SO the best move for them is go to vocal lesson and choose songs thay suit their vocal range and stamina.

Kep1er was the first and only temporary group I got into. I find it hard to get invested or even interested if I know the group is only around for couple years. I dont want to set myself up for heartbreak. But with Kep1er I couldnt help myself!! I love their vibe and their songs were immediately catchy. Plus I already knew of Hikaru from XG forming...
I really hope they continue even if a couple members dont renew.

With the Produce groups, the length of the contract was gradually getting longer. IOI only had a six month long contract IIRC, which is wild to me. WANNAONE and IZ*ONE were for two and a half years, and I think X1 was supposed to have a five year contract, which isn't that far off the standard seven years and takes advantage of the popularity of the groups.
IZ*ONE did have discussions about extending the contract, but the companies couldn't agree on the terms so it fell through. I feel like IZ*ONE were so successful, there's two sides to it. They were guaranteed to have more success if they extended the contract, but because they were so successful the individual companies might be wanting to take advantage of the popularity and redebut the idols in their own permanent groups or as soloists (or focusing on acting and other activities).
I feel like Kep1er didn't match the success of the Produce groups, and were overshadowed by other GGs who debuted around the same time. Unfortunately it seems a bit like the waters were being tested after the rigging scandal. I think it was a huge mistake to put them on Queendom after they'd only just debuted, I think that affected them, and they don't have a strong concept like other recent GGs... But they are popular and successful enough. They do have a large Japanese fanbase too. It makes sense to me that they would decide to extend the contract, I hope they get handled with care in the future.
The stuff with ILLIT is really sad. They are getting a tidal wave of hate and it's really awful. They're just teenagers. It's possible it wasn't staged, too. It could be sloppiness on the part of Belift.
If it is Belift and/or HYBE trying to engineer sympathy it wouldn't be surprising. MHJ has used NewJeans members emotions, bringing up them crying, and accusations of the members being mistreated.
It's not right to be using the emotions of these groups members in this way.
I am worried that because if the hate train being directed at ILLIT that people will be judging them and using any excuse to lash out. While the comments here were all directed at HYBE people are bound to take it out on the members too.
It's just really worrying. I'm worried for all the groups involved. I hope it gets resolved soon.

I like the concept of temp groups but in practice I do feel sad about it. The pros is that after the group disbands the members spread out and *ideally* bring their fan base to their new group where more idols are able to have successful careers. So from a group of 12 members you could, in theory, have 12 groups gain popularity they might not have gotten otherwise. However I also don't tend to get super attached to specific groups so that's how I see it. But it is sad that fans of the temp group lose the interactions of all the members

I want to have each and single idol of these groups hating lesserafim to have idols sing raw while dancing with full energy and also have not a single break in performance and not even vocal smoothening. Then let's compare vocals. I know that period is bad but it's a fact also both Sakura and Kazuha are not versed in Korean songs. So what do you expect only eunchae to sing. Kazuha used to rarely talk and Sakura starts to talk much in Korean but is not versed in Korean songs.
i feel like people didn't like that illit was getting sympathy for once and started a "hybe planned this to make people feel bad" no even txt has several phones out to read and interact with comments when they do group lives and one of the members is also known to report weird comments. this is just kpop stans trying to use this excuse to hate on illit again and feel better about doing so.

LSFM need to do a unplugged song guitar sitting still singing accappella or just own it. Hold a interview and say too our group dance and stage performance is what matters we do sing well but challenging choreography makes it hard to sing well so we'll use assistance when needed and save the perfect vocals for recording.

It’s annoying that Belift allowed the girls to do live during this hate period they’re going through. I feel there should be more precautions to protect them. Checking comments and reporting or giving hearts though, isn’t a new thing for Hybe label artists, they’ve been doing it for years.. seeing comments think this was exclusive to Illit is funny. Diverting the attention to “hybe’s media play” rather than concern that these girls are getting too much hate is also absurd to me

As a Kep1ian and Zerose, I honestly don't see the same outcome for ZB1. Both W1 and Yeuhua have multiple members in two project groups that will likely come together after disbandment. Jellyfish has male trainees, and will probably form a boy group. Jiwoong will probably go to the military after disbandment, go solo, or go back to acting. Matthew and Hanbin could also go solo too. They're in a better position for success after D-Day than Kep1er even if they're popularity is stabilized rn.

I was surprised to hear about kep1er because I haven't heard much about them and assumed the group wasn't doing that well. Normally, I'm all about keeping these groups temporary because usually the idols have some plans for what they are doing afterwards. I remember when people were advocating for Wanna One's contract to get extended and I just wanted it to hurry up and end so Minhyun could return to NU'EST . But we've seen how these project groups work out. Most members end up worse off, in either smaller groups or solo careers that don't do well and they go on indefinite hiatus or the groups are disbanded. The amount of idols who are able to take the success of a project group and turn that into long lasting success is actually pretty small. So if they want to start extending contracts for these temporary groups, then that makes sense to me.
What if it is not stage than. Are just going to go on like that. They hate come from people who are toxic and think that it is the members fault.
Regarding the LE SSERAFIM backlash, it's ultimately dumb. However, I can see the complaint. It's not that idols must always look good 100% of the time. Rather, it's the intentionality of the photographer / creators. Simply put, it doesn't come across that the creative team were going for something weird but rather simply wound up looking like that. Basically, if you want to go avant-garde or do something more out there, fully commit and don't be halfhearted about the concept.

I guess most people are annoyed/surprised Kep1er could get an extension, while I.O.I or IZ*ONE, who were way more popular couldn't. I love the girls and watched the whole show back then, but it's true they didn't manage to get as much attention as other groups in their same condition. There's also people saying one of the reasons they could be trying to extend Kep1er is because their current show I-LAND 2 doesn't seem to be getting as much popularity as they wanted to, so it might be a flop unless they improve more, so they want to play it safe and have something a bit more stable with Kep1er.
Then we have the situation with Hybe... I'm so tired of this company lately. Poor girls, they don't deserve the hate they're getting, but it's all Hybe's fault debuting idols who are not ready to be debuted just yet. Then, they do shady stuff to make the group more popular and win shows and expect for the public to just let them get away with it.

Even if this particular instance was staged (which I honestly doubt), it sucks that people are making the kind of comments that Wonhee would need to report at all.
