love doing this kind of stuff. I spent 2 weeks last of Feb, beginning of Mar clearing out dead trees, deadfall, vines, fences, junk piles and old brush and dirt piles along the creek that goes across front of our property. Custom built a 48" wide rake attachment and raked all of the woods area along the creek and really cleaned all of it up nice, then final graded it, planted grass in the field and clover & wildflowers in the woods. Burned up majority of brush/trees and now have 1 pile of unburnable roots/dirt/metal/etc... to haul off but ran out of time before having shoulder surgery last week. Hopefully go back up there this weekend and see everything sprouting. I could do this stuff all day every day. Come to think of it, I do, hence the shoulder surgery...lol. Next up, clearing area and building my own gun range.
@@chris3m98 no, injury is from long term use and abuse from using a limb saw. once this shoulder is good to go, have to do the other shoulder and bicep tendon, too. Should be fun. been trying to put in gun range for 2 yrs, just couldnt get to it. trying to re-prioritize projects to use equipment more and body less for a while.
Cool work on that patch of woods - lots of firewood and saw logs in your pile. Kind of taking it easy today while it decides whether to clear up or storm. I cleared a couple three acres of locust sprouts in a patch of the pasture this morning before the rain, then finished a 2x6x12” block of old (as in, old as me!) red oak to mount to the balusters and then mount a flat screen swing mount on in the cabin. Thus recovering the real estate on the table! We did get the ballast in the right rear tire yesterday and the neighbors and I got the now 500-lb tire/wheel mounted back on the tractor. That’s been a need for some time. Always lost traction in the right rear first. Fun and games on the western Ozarks farm!
Made a 6ft wide rake out of a I-beam using .5" plate steel 12" long spaced 6" apart welded inside one side of the I-beam. The four teeth holes on the web were cut out to match the teeth on a 2' wide bucket. It is held securely in place with a chain over the back of the bucket and is removed quickly with a load binder. works really well and is much cheaper and quicker to change out then a root rake attachment.
Great job, Mike. I can only imagine if you had your skid steer how much fun you would have working on the cleared area. I'm looking forward to seeing you work with it.
Hello Morgans and friends. 60 degrees and rainy here in Missouri. Suppose to rain for the next two days with flood warnings. Last year, I had a buddy of mine clear out the area in front of my house of all the thorn bushes, thickets and small trees. Planted a few pine trees for cover for the deer and this year I am going to plant some berry producing plants.
Good job taking the trees down and getting everything separated!, the thumb on the excavator opens up a hole new level of work you can do!. Morgans good day!.
What's better than having an excavator, skid steer, (on the way) tractors, trucks, trailers, saws, sawmill, wood splitters, unlimited firewood, hunting property, UTVs, every other tool and a loving go with the flow wife? Having a neighbor with a You Tube business who owns those things, the work ethic and loves the work using those tools! Like a friend with a boat! lol
I am more and more impressed with the Kubota Excavator, and how much power it has! A very capable machine, for sure. Of course, the operator is pretty good too!😉😉
Hi Mike, there are some nice saw logs as well as firewood, I hope you make the best of both options so nothing goes to waste! Lots of fun watching you take them down. Best Regards Fred Thomas
I love the way you handle the excavator. You make it look so easy and as if it was suppose to go or move. Love the video. Neighbor Cliff is going to add some space to the area by removing those trees. Can't wait to see the finish.
I'm a tad late on leaving a comment here, but Mike, you have done a nice job knocking down those trees with the excavator, cleaning up the area using the bucket & the blade, organizing the firewood logs, etc... Job well done as your friend & neighbor Cliff must surely be thrilled with the work done in such a clean, organized manner... All the best, Bill... :~)
Looks like fun! However, I see a lot of chain sharpening in the future... rolling all those logs in the dirt is going to leave a lot of grit on the logs. That grit will dull the chain while bucking the logs into firewood rounds... 😉
Great job Mike. I have 12 acres of old almond trees to pull out this fall. Because of your video I just thought maybe I could buy a excavator clear my field then resell it if I don't keep it. As usual you get my mind to clicking. Thanks
The one thing I miss from this video is the smell of the dirt that has been freshly turned up. I always remember that from my days of driving trucks and delivering to construction sites.
Go to dirt perfect really good operator he also has a buddy by the name of Chris that is super. They do this for a living. Both of them on UA-cam. Again good people just like this dude is
Hey Mike, something I always forget to do is take a picture before and after, might be a nice side by side shot? Enjoyed as always... Pete from Canada 🇨🇦
good job everyone!....thanks 4 video. be kind.
Good morning from Upstate South Carolina. You almost don't need a grapple when you have an excavator with a thumb. Have a productive day.
How did you ever get along without that excavator? I bet Cliff really appreciates having you as a neighbor.
This was a great video. Neighbor Cliff is a very lucky man . Thank you for sharing.
Im glad you cut the video off. I have stuff to do but i couldnt stop watching. See ya on part 2. Stay well, stay safe and yall HAVE A DAY
I'm with you there!!
Thanks for sharing with us Mike and Cliff and Mrs.Cliff. Getting it done while you can, catch you on the next one. Fred.

"building my own gun range"....That right there is worth the effort. Hope your shoulder heals well w/o too much discomfort.
Python 357, Wondering if the gun caused your shoulder surgery or all the work in Feb. if gun why the range?🤔 Stay safe.

Great comment Python 357... Spring is in the air, take care of that shoulder!
Bill... :~)
GOOD LUCK with that Shoulder. I tried to do the same stunt after my shoulder surgery. Now I have to go back in for a Re Do Repair.
Great video!!! Love seeing the equipment in action like that!
I bet your neighbors love you.
💥 You had too much fun. I’m sure you loved every minute of it! 👍
*Keep on tractoring!*
Good evening Morgans and friends
Good morning friend :-) again I waited to watch this with coffee , and today you're a long scroll down the page to find you ;-)

Everyone should have a neighbor like you!!! I’m sure it works both ways.
Great job Mike your neighbors are lucky to have someone that helps it always says it more blessed to give than to receive
2 things, first this is the longest video i can remember seeing, second you've become quite the artist with that excavator.
It may just be my thinking, but I sense there were quite a few smiles from Mike Morgan while doing this work!!!
Back to doing what you do best, clearing land for fire logs and helping Cliff along the way. Nice work Mike. Stay safe.
Very nice work, you definitely seem to have no wasted moves,a joy to watch!
I'd love to have a neighbor like the Morgan's!
Beautiful work done with that excavator Mike!! Sure takes the time and labor down.
You're a great neighbor I'm sure Cliff appreciates having you nearby...
I always look forward to watching your videos everyday
Nothing better then an afternoon in the excavator cleaning a messy spot and reading it for next project!
What would your neighborhood do without you. You are certainly an asset to your community.
Wow, what a difference a cleanup can make in an area's appearance!
He will buck it up and split it into excellant firewood an sell it back to neighbor Cliff! Excellant! I love Outdoors with the Moagans!
That would have been a fun day to be part of. Great video.
I thought I was watching Chris on Letsdig18 - - -Great touch there.
Great job clearing all those trees Mike, should be a couple of baskets of firewood for Neighbor
Cliff lol
A lot done in 38 minutes. Nice job. 👍
Morgans! Love watching you doing this lumbering, sawmill and land management stuff! Keep it up!
That excavator is worth it’s weight in gold!
One of your better vids , really enjoyed watching and thanks for sharing it with us Mike .
Great long video! Also, reminds me of the original videos with no music . Great video!
Watching this got me singing Mr Rogers "Won't You Be My Neighbor" song!! Wish Mike was my neighbor! Great job on the excavator.
Won't you be my kubota neighbor 😆

I sure hope Cliff appreciates all that work. When his wife comes home and sees how nice you left the area, she may just bake a pie for the Morgans!

Exceptional skills with an excavator, Mike! Nice work!
Isn't it wonderful what a little hydraulic pressure can do. It sure makes projects easier.
Wish I could have been there to help. I love that kinda stuff.

I love my little B3200 and grapple setup, but wow that excavator gets it done! Nice demo of real time work progress Mike. Thanks!
Great job Mike. I have 12 acres of old almond trees to pull out this fall. Because of your video I just thought maybe I could buy a excavator clear my field then resell it if I don't keep it. As usual

A nice piece of digger work that and surprizing how dry the soil was given all the snow and rain you had previously.
The one thing I miss from this video is the smell of the dirt that has been freshly turned up. I always remember that from my days of driving trucks and delivering to construction sites.
Nice!
First haul job for the newish truck to take the logs back to the yard.
That truck will be a great help
Mike, you make that look easy.
that little orange machine is sure usable!!
Your skill o0n that machine is fascinating Mike. I could watch you all day.
