Whilst every style of beer explained may not be all the craft beer channel may not be about, looking in to how you've been drinking beer wrong your entire life, how beer is made, brewing your first homemade beer, talking to beer experts, identifying cheap vs expensive beers, price points, and answering beer questions from brewmasters is all a part of my real ale craft beer journey.

It's been very hot, in Louisiana, as you can imagine. I like this pilsner, by the way.

Pilsner Urquell (the original Pilsner) is actually quite hoppy and thanks to the Saazer hops also quite funky, easily in Pale Ale Territory. Same goes for some northern German lagers such as Jever or Wickkühler.

Very true - heavily hopped for sure, but they manage to stay much more in the refreshing and balanced space compared to modern pales. 20 years ago you'd have described them as some of the hoppiest styles, but today they feel rather balanced and refined!

Great review! Went to college in Chico, and this is the beer that got me in to craft. 2.40 is honestly a fair price, as they cost around $1.50/can in Chico.
Some context on the flavor tasing more like a German lager:
This beer was actually discontinued four years ago (replaced by a Hazy session IPA that didn't sell as well), and was brought back by popular demand. The taste is definitely different, but still an outstanding beer. I remember the older one being a bit more lemony and crisp like a good Czech Pils.

I did wonder if they'd changed it a bit with the different names popping up. Yeah this wasn't the super crisp Pils I was expecting but still fantastic. Cheers!

I'm sure we can make something work - with a big beer like that it might be fun to do a panel type thing. I'll give it some thought!
