tevonne dorsey he's is my main first one to 20 and I only have 2 abilities and I don't even epic gear for each piece of armor. Meanwhile my other characters have full epic and like all their abilities
i know this sounds weird but i think the way it works is whichever character you play the most is the character you get the least amount of gear for which sucks because i really want the full nightwing gear set including the armour although i cant really complain since i have the head piece and the leg piece, i just need the torso, arms and the gear move that lets me use the staff :)
I got my Supergirl to level 20, then used my source crystals to level Robin up to 20. He's got a lot of potential, but it's a shame he's such a douchebag in this game.

the staff was mainly for zoning and long range normals and strings, when you played nightwing in injustice 1 you were supposed to switch between that and his batons for close up and long range
Flash was the first character I got to level 20 and so far I have about 3 incomplete sets of epic gear. I've been waiting for Flash to appear on one of the bigger Multiverse stages, but so far no luck.
+CosmicRex I've tried, but with 20-something characters and each planet being about 5 hours, the odds of me being at home/not asleep are somewhat slim. Not to mention you only get 1 epic gear per small planet. I even farm the Platinum boxes on the bigger planets and just end up with 50 Scarecrow gears for some reason.
Fastest way to level any character up is find some foot gear that gives you xp boost in multiverse (usually it ranges from 200-500 bonus xp). These are usually the boost that requires you to not jump during a match. Face the CPU on very easy in endless multiverse battle simulator and it should take between 40-45 matches to level you up all the way to 20. Like so people can see.

I'm currently opening 500+ mother boxes. I have already opened a few hundred trying to get the staff. Fuck the drop rate. They need to realize many Robin players won the staff and that they should just increase the drop rate tremendously

So its based on luck. Just as suspected to be honest just like with any other game that has a loot box opening thing like Overwatch. Drop rate for the item or ability that you want goes to %0 so you get every other thing and not what want.So just be patient guys
but on the bright side, none of the stuff you get in Injustice 2 is game breaking unlike *cough BO3 M1911 cough* and they don't nag you about the Mother Boxes too, cut Netherrealm some slack at the very least

It may take years to get the Staff of Grayson, but this game is definitely worth it. I'd just do the ability event or the Robin's legendary multiverse to get it.
Guys he's wrong you can get abilities from fighting and it doesn't matter what motherbox you open its always random no matter what there's probably one hundred thousand pieces of gear in the game so you have a 1 and 100,000 chance of getting it. I've already opened ed a thousand mother boxes all together and haven't got it so you'll have to get lucky.
the point of having items like this are to reward players who are lucky to obtain it, as with many of the other epic items. people complaining about how it should be easier to get these dont seem to understand the point of motherboxes. I see the same type complaining at games like battlefield 1
Go to Endless in the Multiverse and use your AI loadout. It will level up to 20 in a few hours without you having to worry about being pretty good with the character itself.
You are lucky, I have unlocked 6 of 7 Robin Abilities, and The Staff is the last one, I even unlocked Low Smart Birdarang Twice! (Yes they are 7 Robin Abilities) I mostly unlocked Bronze Boxes, so it might be only in a Silver one.
I realize that now, and Robin has at least 8 Abilties, I still have just 6 and no Staff... Been grinding boxes for days now, I do however have 3 of the Nightwing Set - Arms, Toso, and Greaves..
Robin also has another ability, that isnt the deadly birdarang or the line in the sand, well it is deadly birdarang but its aerial instead of on the ground.

Plague Doctor Raven I finally unlocked mine last night doing battle simulator on endless it was a random drop I almost had his legendary blade too make a ai Loadout and just let it go to work in the multiverse some you might have to do manually but most of it just let the ai do it you should get it in no time

There's not much you can do with the staff. Even in the first game it was pretty useless unless connected with a combo from his Escrima sticks. You have to fiddle around with it.

An easier way to level up your character is to do endless survival in the multiverse with an AI version of your character. You will get lots of gear and xp.. You can change the settings of your AI to be max Combos and max Counters so that they are mostly untouchable haha

I got the staff tonight from a Random Ability multiverse against Dr. Fate, which is funny because I was hesitant about spending the 150,000 credits. But it's kind of wasted on me as I don't really play as Robin, but I have a friend who want's it badly that is going to hate me lol.
10,055 Bronze Mother Boxes opened, and still no Staff! Also no Catwoman "Cat Call" ability, I think I have all the shaders and abilities available in Bronze Boxes, I can now constantly open bronze boxes for an hour straight and get no shaders or abilities. I will start grinding silver boxes to see if anything pops out of them.

I've played the game mad hours. A ton with Robin and I still don't have it. Plus I think the they lowered the drop rate on abilities in mother boxes even further.

I've been playing this game since the day it came out, robin has been my main ever since and I STILL haven't gotten the staff of Grayson even with the "what I want" perk that was just added. The staff and the regular nightwing torso is All I've been wanting and still haven't gotten either of them. Total bs :/
There is no sure way to get it. Its absolutely random. Maybe a little higher chance while playing as robin. but i got mine as a reward after a match mid latter long after hitting 20. So it doesnt have to be a box.

some multiverse objectives give random abilities so do those and you will get it with a much higher chance than a motherbox

you can get 1000xp in vs mode. All you need is a second controler. since you beat him perfect and fast you get that amount of xp

I've played the game mad hours. A ton with Robin and I still don't have it. Plus I think the they lowered the drop rate on abilities in mother boxes even further.

Did you play the first injustice? It's literally the same thing that nightwing had, and it was actually one of the most OP things in injustice one competitive play.

I was doing the robin multiverse event but I needed to level him up so I did a random event and got the staff of Grayson when I finished
random drops in Mother Boxes so there is no trick to getting it. my Robin is a level 8 and it was the first ability I got for him.
been playing with Robin as my main character since launch and I still haven't gotten any nightwing gear or the staff.

same :( I really want the staff of grayson, line in the sand looks cool but so many people can just zone out and not only does it go away on hit but on block I'm pretty sure, plus it has so many startup frames :(

I've been playing this game since the day it came out, robin has been my main ever since and I STILL haven't gotten the staff of Grayson even with the "what I want" perk that was just added. The staff and the regular nightwing torso is All I've been wanting and still haven't gotten either of them. Total bs :/

There is no sure way to get it. Its absolutely random. Maybe a little higher chance while playing as robin. but i got mine as a reward after a match mid latter long after hitting 20. So it doesnt have to be a box.
