Ae2 also has an extra new generator that gives you 20 AE/t for free (only one per system and it travels through quartz fiber)

A few tips for AE2:
1 - Make a wireless pattern encoding terminal, and craft it with the wireless crafting terminal, to make a universal wireless terminal with both. You will be able to encode patterns on the go, which is really handy.
2 - Functional storage adds a block called an Armory Cabinet (needs 1 netherite iirc, but totally worth it) which can only store non-stackable items, like armor and tools. Add a storage bus to one, with priority 1000 (or just really high). This way, if you accidentally drop a bunch of items that don't stack into your system, you won't instantly clog up your cells. Also useful if manually crafting things that use tools, such as some machines from Industrial Foregoing.
3 - Cable anchors, used to make facades, can be used on their own to block a connection between a cabla and any AE block. Because of the channel system, this can be super useful.
4 - If you dislike the channels in AE2, you can use '/ae2 channelmode [mode]' command to change. The options were 2x, 4x, and infinite iirc. You may need to re-run this command when updating the pack. Alternatively, you can just edit the configs directly. Personally, I like to play with 4x, since I don't like channels, but infinite feels kinda cheesy.
5 - For autocrafting, you use pattern providers. A trick you may not realize, is that it will distribute its crafts to all adjacent (and equal) machines. Everyone does this for the Molecular Assemblers, but it applies to other machines as well. Your induction smelter from thermal feel a bit slow, even with big augments? Toss another one adjacent to the patter provider, and it will automatically send recipes to whichever one's available.
That last seems obvious, but I'd never considered it. That's also a way to deal with the auto sorting dilemma with stuff like mek smelters.
I never understood why the idea of a storage solution for nonstackables didn't seem to be that common in versions like 1.12 and even later. Glad to see there's another option in modern modding. Hopefully this becomes more commonly implemented but I'm glad it's a thing at least.
I usually chose Refined because it is so easy to get started. I am trying to push myself to use AE more so it becomes easier, but my biggest complaint is that there are a number of cool extension mods but it isn't always obvious in jei how to find the other mods because they aren't named uniformly. If only they could all be @applied***** something.

The nice thing about Red Matter furnace though is that if you do have the EMC it's less crafting to do and has a nice benefit of doubling your ores, around 75% in my experience. :D
My favorite storage mod is Integrated Dynamics (plus Crafting, Terminals and Tunnels), because I'm not a huge fan of having to muck about with power generation. It's like a slicker version of Tom's Storage or Simple Storage Network, with the added bonus you can do a bunch of crazy intricate automation once you get deeper into the mod.
Despite using cable anchors, facades dont actually block connections, so in the antiblock room just place the cable in the wall, place a facade so you can no longer see that cable, then connect and it will look like the cable just connects to the wall.
Loving this pack so much. Got super lucky and unlocked the Transmutation Interface from a quest reward. My game is zooming now!

I started watching this series after attempting to do it on my own for a few hours, hoping to learn how to use the mod pack.
I know this mod pack will be really fun to master, but the learning curve is significant. This specific episode left me even more perplexed than I was before I watched it.
It's not really a complaint. I realize it's pretty difficult to discuss features this complex in depth within a 30-minute time frame.
Great series overall. It's been really fun to watch your builds just come together so naturally.

Chosen thank you for making such wonderful content. Modded Minecraft was introduced to me by you and I’m hooked!
I highly suggest making 2 controller structures. 1 as your main structure, and another structure to run P2P pipes through it. This allows you to condense your dense cables to be able to carry far more channels than you would normally, and will prevent a lot of spaghetti wiring in the future.
I will usually go with Refined + Drawers as my deafult storage system, also looks like ppl like more Ae2 than Refined as I don't see many new addons that interact with RS but a lot of new ones for Ae2. I really like the anti block white room, looks great.
I leave you and idea for you research room, you could put some mobs in those jars from Ars (the ones you use with Drigmies) and have them as "research specimens".

If you need a Certus Quartz Crystal, instead of finding or growing one, just break a Certus Block. For instance, at 2:37, the Certus Block on the left (the one without blemishes) can be crafted to create four Certus Quartz Crystals.
i love the storage drawers, despite how long it take to roam your storage.

In your AE room, you could do something like the ISS, a green line for floor, blue for wall, red for roof, etc.

Hey Chosen, been loving the series. I was wondering, as the developer of the pack, have you thought about expanding the quest system? As someone with limited knowledge of mods, I found the quests in packs like ATM make it easier to see what mods are available and their progression. Just curious about your thoughts. Keep it up :)
Btw you can hook up a create item vault to your AE2 system for the convenience of large, type-agnostic storage to go with the lovely AE2 interface
The pack has MEGA disks addons for AE2, which don't have the typing of AE.

Favorite for me: Integrated Dynamics et. all. Hands down.
I mean the newer storage drawers with the range upgrades and the range borders is a game changer, but if ur talking about end game bulk item storage, easily AE2. Wlthough refined storage is easier to get into and learn, I haven’t ever seen a single benefit from refined or anything else
Protip for you, make some flux plugs and flux points. Infinite wireless chunkloaded energy transfer, and they have an EMC value so you'll never need a fluxduct again.

I need to learn how to do the certus generation without cheesing it with cardboard boxes
I used a villager with a charger in Easy to get the certus. The charger is just iron and copper. Super simple and easy. Btw, I am not sure this has been mentioned but the clay trade with the Mason to sea lanterns with the Oceanographer is an easy way to get EMC. I am not there yet, but I plan on setting up a power flower with an EMC link to get some decent EMC continually into the system. This is an old school way to get EMC but I assume it should still work. My mistake, the self-contained flower powers must be a different mod. They aren't in this pack.
Yeah, he already set up ocean lantern trade, in terms of automation villager trade for certus is pretty useless but very good for starting
@@Ender_Pie It has EMC so you only need one. I actually needed the slime trade because I couldn't find a slime anywhere.
Nope, the power flowers in a single block are part of the Project Expansion which is in the pack, however Chosen removed them on purpose, so that you can't just do 1 craft and bump up your EMC production exponentially. The whole idea for the pack is to automate entire processes to generate EMC.
@@dejsimiwerkin8681 I thought they were in Expansion. Yeah, they are OP for sure. We didn't have them back in the Tekkit days and were were able to generate a lot of EMC. It will be fun to see what we can do with this pack.

Least well-known? It's the #1 storage mod of all time.
FYI, if you have trouble locating the meteors, you can get ae2 kickstarted with a villager. Just make the starting machine (charger and the other one) and you should be able to unlock most of what you need.

Refined is my favorite
I'd like to recommend a mod to potentially add to the modpack if that's okay: Modern AE2 Additions.
It has "compressed" Co-Processing Units, so you can have more recipe steps running at a time in a much smaller space (Up to 64 Co-Processing Units in one block). But something even better are the Pattern P2P Tunnels. With these you can have a Pattern Provider send recipe input to more than 4 devices, which would be ideal for crafting a lot of items in one go efficiently. Those work amazingly with the existing P2P Tunnels that transfer channels.

chosen, make an RFtools Dim made entirely of Diamond blocks. Thats millions of EMC/s. Mr Porkerson, a youtuber did it.

if you search certain structures in the nether you will definitely find one. I found one randomly in a plant pot in the toxic waste structure
hah. AE less known. I know more about AE than RS, lol. Also if you put a villager with the AE Charger they will take a job at it, and will trade various AE items, like the patterns. Including the pattern needed for mega cells.
For some lol a lot of people just want a easy time and I respect that. I will say AE is 100% the better automation option!
@@ChosenArchitect the fun part is trying to implement AE within the “base” I am trying to build. Already had to use 2 wireless access points to cover most of the ship that has been built, while waiting on the singularities to build. Stone from an emc link into the builder. Plus all the non-emcable junk picked up by the quarry.

The reason I prefer AE2 is that it uses powers of 2, while Refines Storage uses powers of 10.

Was it ME Extended or another add on mod for AE2 not sure, it lets you create a 256k Storage with no item type limits. (The usual 63 item type limit, one of the reasons I never went for AE2 back in the days)
I like to build one or two of those at the beginning and never ever have any problems with storage ever again.

Hey Chosen, I was wanting to play this modpack with some friends but we realized that theres no way to link EMC together so we would be making multiple of each EMC Farm for each player. Is there any way to incorporate Team Project E into the modpack so that we can work together with shared EMC?
damn you're lucky, i have no one to play modpacks with. you could add the mod yourself via the launcher, just open up the mod folder and download the mod yourself (same for your friends)

Nope they are replaced with the EMC gains chapter of the quest book! A lot more fun to loop EMC that way!

Simple storage was fun, but a bit wacky, for a more serious and robust way I love refined. I used to play with ae back in the day, when it was a bit simpler and not as developed, but after a long pause from MC, comming back to the new ae was a tad bit too tiresome.
I completely forgot to build a controller. Can you show how to automate the dissolution chamber with ae2. I cannot get the fluid to work.

I want to learn/use Ae2 so frickin bad but, when u first started playing modded mc I chose to learn RS instead because ae2 was like learning Chinese as an adult in my eyes. And so now, I've developed such a fear for that mod that I've yet to even touch it. It's so bad that if a modpack only offers ae2, I go in and add rs. It's pathetic, I know. But ae2 seems like such a challenge to learn and now that I've basically mastered rs, it's so hard to make the switch. Mainly bcuz rs is a very powerful mod and it's so easy to learn.
Once you learn AE2 you will never go back I tell you this :P

Anyone having issues with the transmutation table/tablet where if you search for something with E in it it will exit the window? Is there a way to fix this? It's so annoying.
Clear out any keybinds you have for that key should fix that.

Not really about this video, but since this was your last upload, I wanted to make a small complaint I had about EMC. You either removed all the EMC from the higher Matter Tiers, except Fading. or didn't add them in the first place. It's really a pain. I also don't think it was necessary. You aren't gaining EMC on those, after all, so there's no exploit or anything, it just makes them annoying to get. I suppose it's to keep people from pushing up the EMC Link tiers quite as fast, but it just bugs me and as soon as you have automation it's kind of a moot point. The moment you make Archimeat automated all it does is make it take forever. Having to make a complicated little set up with Tier 3 Crafters and whatnot to try and do it before having a proper computer to automate it was a chore. Never really made use of it before I got my AE system up and just set up patterns. xD
Loving the modpack though. Getting near to the end. Basically just need to Kill the Chaos Guardian and make Antimatter. Speaking of, the Dragon Heart not having EMC is also a bit of a pain. You can't automate it, as far as I know, since it regenerates all the area around the church when it spawns, so killing machines would probably break. If anyone has a good way to automate that I'd love to hear. Doing it manually is slow and annoying. Does the Mob Grinding feed work to get an egg for it? I could make a spawner if so, and that'd be slightly faster, because I don't need to sit through that respawn animation.
I have Archimeat and Arcimorph automated, at the moment, and as slow as it would be, considering the creation of Antimatter (I'll need to make and focus a few reactors or something into it), I can automate Fading Matter. I'm currently sitting at 2.3 Trillion EMC, so it's just a matter of making the non-EMCable things at this point. Working on making the best Draconic shields I can. I watched the To The Sky playthrough and saw how absurd that Chaos Guardian fight is going to be. lol
Also playing on Hardcore, 'cause...I'm insane. xP

@@ChosenArchitect I updated a bit ago. I haven't in the last few days, so if it's really recent I haven't. But Magenta through White are non-EMCable.
@@ChosenArchitect I managed it. Took forever 'cause I was only using the Red Katar. lol
But I just used the ProjectE teleport book to set a safe spot behind one of the Tower's draconium infused obsidian blocks. It seems to block out 90% of the damage, so I didn't die. I can tank everything but the lazer.
Also I got my hearts close to maxed. 35 of the Heart Canisters. Couldn't quite afford the full 40, let alone going to Soul Hearts. But 5-6k red hearts only goes so far, and I didn't want to grind the Wither for hearts. lol
My armor was Red Matter and a Draconium Chestplate in my Curios. I used 1 Large Shield module, 1 Shield Controller, 1 Energy Module, and everything else was Shield Recovery to keep me shielded as much as possible. I was never at 0 shield long enough for the lazer to kill. Lost about 60-70% when behind the obsidian.

I always see people complain about channels and I always wonder just how big their builds are.
I went through the entirety of FTB Skies, every single quest, with a single ME Controller block and even that was just half utilized. 😆
