In this video we tear down the new Amazon Echo 4th Gen. Amazon just released the new Amazon Echo 4th generation devices in October of 2020 and there are some major changes to the Echo lineup.
In the teardown we take apart the Amazon Echo 4th Generation and show you the parts and components inside the Amazon Echo Gen 4. Once we take apart the Amazon Echo we attempt to put it back together and see it if it still works once we rebuild the Echo smart speaker.
The biggest change Amazon made to the Echo is that the smart speakers are now spherical vs the previous generation 3 devices which were cylindrical or hockey puck shaped.
The Amazon Echo maintains the same voice assistant features and controls as the prior 3rd generation devices but a few new features have been added.
The Amazon Echo has an additional Zigbee chip built in that allows direct control of some Zigbee devices like the Phillips Hue light bulbs without the need for a separate smart home hub. The Amazon Echo 4th Generation also has a sidewalk 900mhz chip that will allow it to communicate on the long range mesh Amazon sidewalk mesh network designed for future smart home devices. The sidewalk 900mhz network is reportedly designed to be able to communicate with devices up to 1/2 mile away.
The Echo 4th Generation now has forward facing directional speakers vs the older generation having non directional speakers.
The Amazon Echo has 3 speakers, including one 3" woofer and two .8" tweeters. The Amazon Echo Dot has only one smaller speaker.
The Amazon Echo is larger and sounds better than the Echo Dot and has 30 watts of power vs the 15 watts of power in the Amazon Echo Dot.
Both the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot have the same control interface on the top of the devices and the light ring has been located at the bottom of the devices.

Came for the echo, remained for the music hahahahah thanks for the teardown
The bass on this one went up 100% from the last generation. Amazing
It does sound much better than previous generations. Thanks for watching.
Power usage : 1.4 watts standbuy , 4.5 watts playing music at 30% volume.10w plus when playing music at full volume. The Echo Studio is 3.9 watts in standbuy and 6.3 watts with music at 30% volume. The Echo's standbuy watts efficency is excellent.
Damn that sh*t have a very good deep bass under 50% over that, the sound so regular...
For your room it's a very good option, but only if you find one offer or something
That think gas good bass for its size I was impressed
I have this one, I was surprised on this one they didn't make it with a long lasting battery in it.
Hi. Greetings from Medellín, Colombia. Please let me know where is the MIC inside? Thanks!
what are these pieces in the minute 3:18? Are the microphones? If it's the mics, I count 6. Would it be 6 or 4?
Whats that small lid underneath?
Is it possible to just take the mesh off and nothing else?
Does the top piece come off with just my hands?
Or do I need any tools?
⬆️This text is written in its entirety with a translator, sorry if you did not understand it
I guess this thang is truly a whole freaking Sound-System huh, I really didn't ever stop to think how much stuff was there inside on my Echo but thank God it didn't ever occurred to me to disassemble it either cause, I would've been in trouble 😅I know Now not to even try it at all... but that answer Alexa gave out at the end was way too accurate thou🤭😆Mine says: Thanks, its good to be here!
How many microphones does it has? I feel that Echo Plus has more micros and listens more accurate when you call Alexa. What do you think guys?
@Infinite Possibilities Echo 4 has 6 microphones 😉! Echo plus has 7. I’ll guess you hadn’t had the software update before. It’s almost impossible to experience a difference because of that. This one microphone barely can make Alexa’s hearing ability worse.
Where can i get 4th generation ribbon cable?
Is it even worth it to rebuilt it?
bro i have problem i cant open the motherboard which screws are their
Schade, dass es nicht möglich ist, einen Kommentar zu geben. Aber die olle Großmutter Musik ist wichtig.
Just bought one. Nice piece of equipment
Thank for video 😍
nice music timing!
I’ve had it for more than 2 years, but it suddenly started acting out, when it’s playing music it cuts off and restarts randomly, usually after like 30 minutes and then every 5 minutes until I stopped using it. I assumed it was the power supply but I changed it and still happens, might be some component of the power input board, any way to know how to fix it?
Wow esta super cool
3 speakers and also has some footage when they open that there is one speaker inside. Which version is which?
Is that the premium sound model?
Yes, the new 4th Generation: amzn.to/32M6fig
When u automatically grabbed the Echo at the start😂😂😂
Que relaxante ❤️
Hw many watt speakers used?
The device uses 30 watts.
if you reassemble this thing its gonna turn into a high functioning ball
Any chance to disconnect the Mic?
I can't seem to separate the grill from the main body. I tried twisting but no luck. (Of course I removed the screws). Any tips?
What material is the woofer made of?
Did you find out how many watts are each speaker?
Does the echo gen 4 have thread build in it?
2:45 Its the unmasking of Vader
Where are the microphones?????
In a ring under the mesh cover.
Damn, there is a lot of stuff in there
See your Video , I too Brought it in India 🇮🇳,
Its really woow.. but works with 18v DC 😢
What is that thing for . The first thing he took out ? What is it used for . I just ordered me one with Amazon.
I am wondering the same thing! Is it a port of some sort?!
Do you mean the round ring thing? If so I’m guessing it’s the LED diffuser.
Rip the tweeters speaker
He pooped the dustcap back in
@Neil Gray lol the screwdriver was attracted to the magnet and pushed the dustcap in so he probably opened it up and pushed it back out 😅😅😅😅😅
Do fifth gen
2:46, why echo dot 4 has 3 drivers? one is up, and two smaller ones is ahead, bro? is this orginal?
Probably is! there are other video with just one driver ahead its the fake one for sure
@@RodrigoRangel oh. I confuse with Echo dot 4, which is smaller than Echo 4.
Brasil🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
name of the song?
Obertura Caballeria ligera - Franz Von Suppé
siempre me sobran tornillos
como pudiste separar el cuerpo de la otra parte? como muestran en el minuto 2:36 ya le quite los tornillos pero no pude separarla
I thought echo dot 4 had a clock ⏰🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Shared space for the woofer and tweeters..... up firing woofer, trash design. I’m sure it sounds like garbage
It sound better of any other Amazon Echo/Echo Dot/Echo Studio (the last one has too many bass)
Actually it sounds really good
tweeters actually dont care if they share space with woofers, they're sealed by design just being a front firing driver, the upfiring woofer is a bit of a con if you have it placed anywhere higher, but it tries to compensate with a metric fuck ton of dsp, which it acomplishes suprisingly well
On the new generation ive got it and it has really good low frequencies and really impressive bass
It actually sounds very good, not just the bass, but also the low frequencies!
