Spent the whole day reading about murmurs while still being confused. Watched these videos and understood the whole thing in less than an hour. 💁🏻♂️ Thanks! :)
It took me years to actually grasp this. different tutors, lectures, PROFESSORS AND STILL. ONLY TODAY THAT I CANT BELIEVE HOW LOGICAL IT ALL IS. THANK YOU
6 years in med-school and another 10 years working as a doctor, reading through the explanation many times and still get confused on how to determine the murmurs, finally it takes your video does the job in giving me clear explanation about murmurs. I'm lucky my postgraduate program has your video in one of the lists of videos for my independent review.
A good mnemonic I learned for differentiating these is MR ASS and MS ARD. The last letter in each stands for systolic and diastolic and MR/MS for mitral regurgitation/stenosis while AS/AR for aortic stenosis/regurgitation
When a person whom is a professional shows and shares his talents with the world. Makes human life a little bit more better for themselves as well as for others. We as humans must understand and keep knowledge as well as teach it to kill off crime and ignorance against one another. Ignorance is pure darkness and death in all it sees, touches, and hears.
Short but very educative video: having suffered so much to understand the murmurs this has given me so much idea in minutes. Thank you. Is there a second or other videos about murmurs that you made?
Can you have both? when I breathe in its diastolic but theres no whoosh sound and then when I breathe out its both diastolic and systolic so its like dudum dudum
I am trying to understand the specific reason behind WHY WE WORKUP A ASYMPTOMATIC DIASTOLIC MURMUR AND NOT ASYMPTOMATIC SYSTOLIC MURMUR. Would appreciate any suggestions or clarifications.
So do we not know if it's A,P stenosis or M,T regurgitation until tests are performed? When a nurse identifies a murmur, are they only allowed to document the assessment, what the heard (if it's S1 or S2)? Because we don't know yet if it's a stenosis or regurgitation?
Timing the murmur with the radial artery, is that totally right ? I mean when the heart beats, the propagation of blood through big arteries then small arteries like the radial would take time that the heart would go through another cycle so the timing wouldn't be completely right One might misjudge a systolic murmur as a diastolic one because of the time difference . I guess timing it with the carotid artery or the apex is more appropriate, doctors in my medicine school told us so

Awesome video
excellent
That's graet
You make it very easy
Thank you
thank you so much >> really so important thank you
Awesome! Thank you!
I believe the murmur towards the end of the video is aortic stenosis and not mitral regurgitation. Mitral regurgitation has a split S2...
I’ve learnt that the radial Pulse Is the 1st to go weak.
Thank you, that helped A LOT
Very helpful!
