Remember, the development level of the employee is based on the task or goal, not the employee as a whole! :-)

This helped me to understand fully, plus it is so easy and simply explained. Thanks Matt.

Thank you for this video! I did find it to be too fast but I was able to change the playback speed to slow so I could catch what was happening.

This is actually incorrect. The writing hand describes D1 as Low Competence and Low Commitment - when in reality D1 (the enthusiastic beginner) has Low Competence and HIGH Commitment.

That's only in Ken Blanchard's model (Sit Lead II). The original Hersey/Blanchard model is D1 = Low Competence/Low Commitment. This is still the correct model as taught by The Center for Leadership Studies.

That is correct, but the images in the video are taken from Blanchard's approach, so that makes it very confusing: the text and images are not matching. Also it describes a D1 as low commitment (According to Hersey), but then it says S1 is low Support (which is Blanchard). It should either talk about Hersey or about Blanchard.

I don't understand it! I see clearly standing D1: Low competence and HIGH commitment. And then you write down D1: Low Competence and LOW commitment... Very confusing. Can somebody explain this to me?
