The story of Tokyo Ghoul is that there are these creatures called ghouls, they look and act exactly like humans except they are far stronger and can only gain nutrients by eating human flesh. The main character Kaneki almost gets killed by a ghoul and after they both get gravely injured her organs are planted into his. Because of that he turns into a half-ghoul. Throughout the story he comes to terms with himself, overcoming his own personal trauma (trauma is a really common theme throughout the series) and brings the humans and ghouls together peacefully. It’s a masterpiece in my personal opinion, but the anime changed a lot by cutting out almost half of the story and changing multiple plot points, along with having really questionable plot choices. But a remake has been pretty much confirmed for its 10 year anniversary.
If you like OP 1, definitely check out TK's music and his band (Ling Tosite Sigure) he has some amazing music in his bands albums (earlier albums like "Still a Sigure Virgin?"), he's done great openings for other shows such as Psycho Pass (op 1, Op 3 and op 5), he even writes for other artists, he wrote the ending of solo leveling which was a big anime earlier this year.
my boyfriend's favorite character of all time is Ken Kaneki (the main character with the eyepatch), it's part of the reason he likes anime now. Granted, he's never read the manga which I think is wayyyyyyy better than the anime but the first season of Tokyo Ghoul and the last season of Tokyo Ghoul: re are pretty good. The music is god tier though, the first opening is called Unravel and it is so well known at this point. I'm glad you're enjoying all styles of anime openings! I look forward to seeing more! (p.s please do Haikyuu or Blue Lock, some of the sports animes have banger intros even if you hate sports)
Well, I discovered you a few weeks ago with your One Piece openings reaction video and since then I've watched pretty much every anime opening reaction video you've done on your channel. I love how you talk about the vibes, the music particularities and of course your theories about the content of each anime. I feel like I can grasp the feeling you've got when you listen to all those openings for the first time and it makes me nostalgic a lot of the time. For a future anime opening reacting video, I haven't seen you do Death Note and since it's a short anime with only 2 openings if I remember correctly I think it could be a short but good react to plan for when you don't have much time (+ I'm pretty sure you'll love the music very very much). Anyway, I love your content so keep it up and enjoy the anime world to its fullest
Please dont listen to the manga readers, you should totally watch the show, the only reason they think its bad is because it went a different way than the manga and people didnt like that, its really good if you watch it as an anime only though
Why are you straight up lying? 💀 Season 1 was 60 chps cramped into 12 eps barely coherent with so much shit cut out from the story. Undoubtedly the best season it’s still a massive downgrade from the manga Season 2 was basically fanfiction with most of it having slideshow animation excluding the last 3 eps which looked great but again fanfiction which didn’t make sense and wasn’t nearly as good as the original. Oh and btw if you’re an anime only you’ll have no idea what’s going on from here because the entirety of season 2 was fan fiction and season 3 is built upon the ending of season 2 which was entirely changed in the anime. Season 3 was honestly not as bad as 2 purely because it wasn’t fan fiction with decent animation still sucks compared to the manga. Season 4 is undeniably the worst in quality tho sticks to the source material just on 4X speed like the rest of the anime except this time with terrible animation except a few sequences which looked ok at best.
@@the_mse EXACTLY MY POINT, if you know nothing about the manga the story in the anime is amazing, you hate it because you read the manga, point proven, case closed
@@X_Podius No it’s not 💀 did you not read what I said? The problem is that season 2 is fan fiction with the season after it trying to follow the manga which ends up being confusing asf. That’s the main problem about the anime adaptation excluding the horrible quality and pacing issues which are also extremely massive issues. I read and watched Tokyo ghoul and I can confidently say I only somewhat enjoyed the anime because I already knew everything, if I was an anime only I’d be confused asf. And as I said season 2 is definitely the worst yet story wise, so much of it just kinda happens no build up, no reason, kaneki’s motivation doesn’t make sense and the ending was horrible. SPOILER ALERT Kaneki joining the Aogiri tree at the beginning of the second season also makes quite literally zero sense. And the whole full kakuja thing was actually butchered asf in the anime that’s honestly my second biggest issue with it which would be the middle part of the season. The fights in the prison had literal slideshow animation with kaneki’s transformation just showing up without any actual build up to it. Compared to the manga’s writing it’s actually so insanely bad. I don’t understand why someone would put themselves in the hell of watching the anime without reading the manga.

The best is the first OP. The last OP was made by the same artist of the first OP
