Please don't delete this video! It's very helpful to polaroid beginners like me! =D
Had one of these when I was 13 back in 1994. Wonderful camera. Was away from cameras for many years, then became a sort of photographer for work involuntarily. Watching this video now to try to build up the old enthusiasm.
David Bouffard too bad the fujifilm has been discontinued
I’m so glad u said battery compartment could be cleaned I need help with that thank u so much
One of the best Polaroid cameras ever made featured by the best film photography podcast host - super positive!
You can soak the corroded battery terminal in white vinegar for 5 minutes, then brush off the corrosion with a tooth brush. (Throw the tooth brush away after use). Hopfully, your camera will now work. Search "Polaroid Shutter Test" on UA-cam. Test your shutter before loading film. Good Luck!
Fantastic, iv just brought a camera 250/and 100 Polaroid camera in great nick , two new batteries and a colour and black/ white film came with the 100camera.
Leave it up FOREVER! I love you guys. So very very helpful.
It's not Michael Raso
but Michael Polaraso!
I love his Polaroid Cameras
I just inherited a polaroid land camera automatic 100, this video is great, i cant wait to test it out!
For FP100C in a body with 75/300 modes, for the 100 ISO FP-100C and assuming your metering is working 100% you want to adjust the darken control one notch in my experience, and remember that processing time for the film can also affect the print.
Yes, it is. Color is for FP-100c (100asa), BW is for FP-3000b (BW). Enjoy Shooting!
Hello. Yes, you absolutely need the battery for the shutter to work. Make sure that your battery leads are free of corrosion before replacing the battery. Test your shutter before loading film. Another vid on UA-cam - search "Polaroid: Test Your Shutter"
Best, Michael
Most obvious difference is that the 100 uses two windows for focus and viewing - it's the good quality finder but is the same as the plastic-bodied models like the 440, with a focus rangefinder, then a framing window.
The 250, 350 and IIRC, 450 have a conventional combined parallax corrected viewfinder AND rangefinder combined, making focus and composition easier.
They take the same media.
Hey my Polaroid Land Camera came today. I love it. Thank you!
this man is a legend
LOL. I learned photography in the old school way in the 70's. "ASA", today is called "ISO". ASA actually stands for "American standard Assoc", but it means film speed.
glad you left it up!
Thanks so much! gonna be getting some film for my new old Polaroid Automatic 100 so excited!
Great video, hopefully I will finally win one of these auctions
@TEHSOCKEY FP-100C is already available at Filmphotographystore . com under the instant film tab
What a complete tutorial. Thank you!!
Do both the FP-100C and FP-3000B fit all Land Polaroid cameras?
I may have missed it...but did he mention the lightness and darkness options by turning the lens?
No, but they fit all 100-series - as listed in the heading. So 100 through 195, 2xx, 3xx and 4xx, and the EE100, Reporter and ProPack. The EE100 doesn't support 3000 ISO (FP-3000B).
It also fits MOST of the solid body cameras.
It doesn't work in rollfilm bodies (95, 800, 900 and so forth) or Integral models.
Google "Film Photography Podcast" - click the store tab - look for the Polaroid 4.5 volt battery.
What is ASA? Sorry I'm a newbie but this crash course was very helpful!
i think my parents have one of these stashed away. it also had a fan type flash-bulb unit that you could angle. i think it atached to the camera somehow. i know the fan flash unit is gone. it got destroid. i had no idea film was still available! i'l have to get it out and find the film.
@nettobi Mild Soap with water on paper towel or cloth for exterior and rollers. Lens cleaner for the lens.
When i test my shutter to see if it works, i here two clicks and see the shutter open. But when i do what some videos recommend, i cover the eye but i still hear and see the 2 clicks (or shutter eye opening) before i remove my finger of the electronic eyes?? please help {model 220}
I enjoyed your video but you didn't show how to close the camera. I'm playing with a newly acquired 100 camera but cant get it to close...hmmm?
Here it is - ua-cam.com/video/GzmzluOQhEU/v-deo.html
Thanks :) It was very clear and simple explanation :)
Great video. Thanks so much!
today i got 50 dollars for my birthday and i have been looking at this camera in a pawn shop for about two years now so i jumped at the chance to buy it for 34 dollars. im so glad i chose this camera because it has the ability to still be used in modern day. i have a little corrosion on the negative side where the battery goes. what do i do?
Keep up the GREAT work..this was VERY helpful!
So helpful, thank you!
Thanks very helpful!! Your almost as awesome as my Polaroid 103 Land.
found this camera discarded with no cover. everything else is okay. battery dead but no corrosion. but only one click and the lens clicks but I see no light from the back. I guess you must have the battery working for this to happen. you should me how to load the film. the metal case still inside. thankyou. my dad had one in the 1950s. so easy and instant.
Look up our other video called How to Test Your Polaroid Shutter (on our channel here on You Tube)
Use 75 Film Speed with the Shutter Open at its widest.
Hi! Excuseme I don't speak more english, but I have a more questions about the polaroid automatic 240 land camera, because I foun one and I don't know how move the cam, I question is if you have a videp about this cam?
spread the love :)!!
Thank you, I'm already bought one of this and is it in a very good condition
Oh yeah! 60,000 view!
Hey Folks!
I made this video to test my laptop camera (with the intention of removing it) So many comments maybe I should leave it up!!?
Thanks for the comments!
Michael Raso
@TEHSOCKEY Im in the UK and i get it from the bay....that rhymes..
In order for the shutter to open does it need a battery? Cuz mine just slides to the left where a circle thing is...with a pin o.o
Where can you buy replacement batteries? Mine looks pretty clean but this camera hasn't been used in 50 years and the shutter doesn't seem to be working. I'm assuming the battery is dead?
Manual says the timer on the back is how long the film takes to develop. What do I set it do? Does that mean I leave it in the camera for that long? Or do I still pull out the picture? There are no videos actually showing some using/actually taking a picture, so some help on that end would be appreciated, even with a short reply comment. Thanks.
whats the difference between the type 100 land camera and the type 250 land camera?.. both polaroid. and do they take the same film!?!?!?!?!? help please michael
Hello!!! Your tutorial was of great use, i just have a question where can i get the battery?
Does anyone know if the Back Film Pack of the Land 210 can be disassembled to fit into a Holga or Diana or any other camera?
I just bought a 103 an it has no ASA/ISO setting but a setting for COLOR or B & W. Is that the same as?
I have a camera just like this and it's in almost perfect condition. I checked the battery compartment and it's clean like it might have been used once maybe twice. As much as I like keeping treasure like this, I like to share. How do I find someone who might be a collector of items like this ?
e-bay would be the place.
I know this video was made 2 years ago, but I hope someone can help. I have a 360, difference is the focus/viewfinder are combined, and the batter is in the front. I Have seen no videos showing the camera taking pictures.. Do I pull the yellow numbered tab before or after I shoot? What do I need to know about the developing timer on the back? I found this 360 in g-mas basement, batteries are dead. There is already a film pack in there on number 9. Is that film toast? Or could it still work?
Don't delete: need it!!
could you not also take a photo and show it in action?
Chooch it, yeah!
hi!
i was wondering about the color vs black and white settings
is the blues on top and red on color if its color film? Thanks
I just bought a polaroid 250 and I ordered the fuji fp-100c film for it, but there are only a 75 and 150 film speed setting on the camera. Can I not use the 100c? what do I set it on if I can, 75 or 150?
My grandmother gave me her 102, and film is $100 a pack, darn it :(
google search epx19 or 531 4.5 v battery. tHEY CAN BE HAD FOR AROUND $10
I know I'm 9 years late on this video but I didnt realize to ask about the battery compartment before purchasing my camera. If theres any chance you see this, just wondering if theres a way to fix a damaged battery compartment or if it's useless? I'm happy with the camera whether it works or not but I'd much rather have a working one 😂
Hey I bought one but the battery is fucked so what I have to do? lol
You will need to re-wire the battery compartment. Also note - film no longer available. :(
mine has film speed for both 300 and 300
So, is it usual?
where can I find film for it

Michael Raso thanks
hi, i have the same problem the battery is a mess
Would love it if you'd consider re-shooting this. You guys do amazing things, but this video is difficult to follow with the shaky/jittery video.
They did do another one that was much more clear😇
Hey Mike I have the Polaroid 180 a manual camera OK I have a old light meter it goes from 2500 jumps to 3200 so if I'm using my fujiFP 3000 black-and-white film do I put the meter setting at 2500 or 3200 because he does not have a 3000 ASA
I have a question of a camra I got a minolta 101 and I use the light meter but some how my film comes out overexposed what can I do
I bought my camera just like that one at a garage sale and I've tested it out a few times using black and white film, and so far it works great except for the pictures come out really dark because I can't figure out how to use the flash. Do I have to buy a seperate flashgun, or is the flash built-in, and if so how do I work it? Thanks!
Does 100 have a tripod mount?
They still make 4.5V batteries?
Um, i have a problem. When i put the battiest in my Polaroid automatic 103 i can hear the two click but i am afraid that my light sensor might not be working. I do the trick to see it wit works by covering it and taking a dry picture, in theory when you release it, it should close the shutter but when i do it it opens and shuts without me moving my finger....Is this a problem?
Whisch one is better? 100 or 250?
My lense isnt working, maybe the battery is out, but also when i pull the film out, the white part and black part is already split? Is this a side effect?
I have this . Where can i sell like this camera
what means cut the shotter?
why is the 215 land camera not listed???
Hope someone can help me with a strange problem I've been having with my 100. It seems to hate bright situations, the shutter doesn't seem to want to open when in direct sunlight but when I cover the sensor or use it in a low light situation the shutter works just fine. Any help would be appreciated.
is it true that you fix a polaroid cam if we send you?
How much are these cameras worth in good condition?
How do I get battery to replace the original battery? I have heard there is a kit to convert it it to current battery
I think there is an easy mod you can do to use an AAA battery with it. Just look that up on Google.
+Walnut Spice AAA batteries are 1.5v, the camera uses a 4.5v
I have one and don't need it in very good condition I would like to sale it
I have two of those and the flash doesn't work, I don't know what can I do :( help me please.. Thank you
Hey I have another question:
Will water damage your films even though that box is unopened??
Hi mate, I got a 100 and my shutter remain jammed at the bottom. Although I haven't got a battery, is it right? Can I fix it by doing a CLA according to instant options?
so, what can you do if the sensor doesn't work. The shutter physically closes, but the second click doesn't happen and the shutter doesn't open. Are you out of luck...time to move on to another camera?
I converted my 104 with a 2 AAA battery unit, but no luck. BUT I see where some Land cameras have 3 AAA batteries....how do you know if you need a 2 or 3 AAA set of batteries.
Thanks!
4.5v, you need 3. Autozone had a small 3 dollar flashlight at the counter with a removable battery pack. i just taped the leads to the ends and voila! The flashlight even came with 3 AAA batteries installed. Open the back of the camera up when you test it. you can physically see the shutter open/close. This will not move at all without power.
And where to you get the flash bulbs?
do they still make that film u mention??
When in doubt alwats "Ask The Google"...What is ASA?
Mine's from '66!
I have a Polaroid Land Camera 440, what are the numbers underneath the lens, it says: 75, 150, 300 and 3000? I need to know what they mean??
That's film iso. For FP-100c color select 75. If you are using FP-3000b bw select 3000. These are the only films still available (although they have been discontinued).
Michael Raso awesome thank you! I just got the films I order last week and they just came in the mail today and they are FP100B and does that work with 75 as well?
@@R0b3rtA08 I forgot about FP-100B. Yes, 75. Make sure you have a fresh battery and check your shutter before loading any film - ua-cam.com/video/OFD382IXv3A/v-deo.html
Right, now I staying in Paris do you know how or where I can get a battery converter?
I'm thinking of getting one of these, where might I find film for it?
I just found one of these in our attic. It's in perfect condition, but I can't seem to get the shutter to work. Do I need to have a new working battery to test the shutter? I haven't bought one yet, but I'm hoping that's all it requires. I assume the flash won't work unless the battery also works. I opened up the camera like you did but it's just black, I cannot see through it. I appreciate any help!
Hi. The shutter will not work without a battery. Battery - www.batterymart.com/p-a19px-531-4_5v-alkaline-battery.html
Once installed, do the Shutter Test before loading any film. Good luck!
How do you feel this camera stacks up against the other pack film Land cameras? I gave my friend my 440 (which i liked) for her birthday and kept my 100 because it has the metal body. I haven't shot anything with it yet.
Caught in 240p
what happens if one of the battery wires is broken can it be fixed?
Broken wires can be soldered. Make sure there is no mold too.
i dont know how to get it fixed do you know how or where i can get it repaired i dont know anything about fixing wires. the whole wire came out so i dont know exactly what it attaches to.
You will need search You Tube for videos on repair. No known shops fix this camera.
Search this channel for "Polaroid Automatic Land Camera / What Flash?!"
I'm lucky i found it on the ground
