- Finally Part 2B (previously 1st vid, parts 1A &B, and 2nd vid part 2A) is a combination of testing out some newly received updated replacement .22 cal magazines, and my new theory of what was actually happening to cause the jamming with the original magazines, and why the new mags should work better. The theory and demonstration part of the vid is a bit long and may be boring to some, (so just fast forward through it to 19:10) but it's at least an 'understandable reason' why the issue was occurring, at least in my situation.
The good news is the replacement mags worked (and still working great after the vid was made) like a charm, dare I say absolutely perfect!
I'm still a little miffed (not that it really matters, but just sayin..) at Hatsan for the poor original design and execution of the original mags, but thankful they redesigned them to function properly. I'm really glad I stuck with the Flash airgun, as now it's a joy to shoot, not worrying about whether it will jam each time I pull the bolt back. Lastly, I am also still a little bothered by the inconsistent and misinformation regarding the FPS/FPE specs for this Flash and Flash Pup that was circulated (and still circulating today), but it's still really powerful even with the new "watered down spec's" I ranted about. I have to believe it's still one of the more powerful "entry level" PCP's available, and now it seems to work correctly as well!

Thank you for all the work and time you spent. What you found makes perfect sense. I'll bet Hatsan is overloaded with requests for the new mags. I have 6 Hatsan's, and have had to tinker with some at first, some good out of the box. I like them. They are usually big, heavy, and sorta built like a Russian tank. Hatsan USA has helped me with parts, and seem to be getting much better at customer support.
Glad you found the small problem and not send the guns back. Thanks for the heads up in any potential problem and how to handle it. Glad to hear Hatsan was very helpful and cooperative, I'v heard a few people talk trash of their support department, good to hear positive.
This was 4 years ago now, but yeah Hatsan backed up their product with the updated replacement magazines.
I'm having same problem with ..22. Origin mags. Both mags sticking not indexing to next pellet. Took apart. Rat tailed. Caresel wheel. Exit hole. Virtually no luck. Would like to order. Single shot tray. Instead. But may try new mags. But going to get a single shot tray anyway. Very goid video & thanks for your efforts ..
Yes, a single shot tray is always a good thing to have and more especially when mags give you trouble.
Just ordered mine in 22 also hopefully i get the new mag😳
I hope you got the new magazines, and if not just contact Hatsan. They have been really good about supplying the correct ones!
Nice vid you should do some 25yd test to see which pellets shoot best.
Thank you, and I agree I should do that. I'm in the process of finishing some more walls off in the barn, but that shouldn't take too much longer.
how about making the spring give less tension?
It could help the loading, but hard to know how much less tension would mess up indexing. The thicker inner 'star/indexing' part fixed the issue even with the strong spring tension. But maybe it would help, you never know for sure until someone tries it.
Just got mine delivered..how do you disengage the extra mags from storage? I cannot take them off
Mine didn't come with any magazine storage on the gun or in the box so I don't know. Maybe someone else will read this and give you some help.
Sir what kind scope are using toyour Hatsan flash?
