@@MaddNomad1015 yeah that’s what I’m sayin, I don’t really like it. If they would’ve done it a little differently I think it maybe could’ve worked but it would’ve taken some changes.
Would be a great car that could turn right on the track without oil pressure drop and motor failure. Toyota/Subaru need to issue a recall quickly before their reputation is further sullied. ua-cam.com/video/4Jk5WTWoqt4/v-deo.html
I think they wanted to imitate the original 86 which was a very squared hood, and I've seen people trying to do the stripe around the car, it doesn't really fit the style of this car IMHO
Based on my understanding of how it works in other manuals, in a full panic stop I believe it’ll just let the engine stall, and adaptive cruise won’t work all the way down to zero.
Worked nicely in the FK8 CTR.. I used it on a cross country trip and it was quite good. I was skeptical at first, but grew to really like it when I needed a mental break while driving (i tend to concentrate too hard while driving lol)
I think they should’ve gone full throw back and gone two tone bottom and stripe and no black hood and retro-style wheels. The two stripes on the side make it look half-way. Anyone with gloss black vinyl and do that real easy vs having the entire bottom painted black which is harder to reproduce.
I know it's a parts-bin performance package scavenged from the prior gen, but that dealer install option for all existing/previously purchased 2nd gens is a really good idea; that way the early 2nd gen adopters don't won't be left wanting; sounds like there are still some enthusiasts in the Toyota hierarchy that care about driving (or at least recognize there is still profit to be made from enthusiasts that do).
Tomas, your Spanish is a bit off. Trueno is for the sound of thunder. Rayo or relampago is the actual lightning bolt. I looked up Levin and that seems to be from an old English word.
Wish I knew this was coming out a few months ago. I got my Trueno Blue GR86 in April... but I'm not sure how mark ups are going to be with this one considering it'll be a hot ticket.
great to know i can add those brembos from the dealer. matt could you confirm if we current manual owners can add the adaptive radar system as a dealer add on as well???
Hi Matt: So the performance pack only includes the upgraded Brembo brakes? Is Subaru going to offer a similar available factory or dealer installed brake upgrade on the BRZ? Thanks!
*Trueno means thunder in Spanish. Cool name, but for a vehicle that doesn't have that kind of sound, I don't think the name fits. If it were a roaring V8 or this GR86 had the full exhaust treatment to bring out the boxer engine roar, THEN the name would be more fitting.*
Its a homage to the ae86 trueno especially the high tec two tone paint scheme which is commonly known as the panda trueno but yeah looks stupid on this but awesome on the original
@@gzuz4148 I know… but they could’ve done a much better job at replicating the og design. This one doesn’t even really resemble the old one unless you’re into this type of stuff
Love the interior and the brake upgrade! Big fan of the performance packs they've done for BRZs in the past.
I just dont think the decals work on this body style. Its a neat call back dont get me wrong plus the big brakes are a huge win.
They could’ve worked but I don’t think they work in the way they were implemented lol

Matt with the great exclusive content!
I feel like the stripes should go all the way around and the hood should be all black. Yellow fog lights and a tofu cooler would be dope too
3rd party stuff is always best to makeover it better than stock

Be dope'r if it was powered by Tofu.
Wow, yeah cause that would be so original….
I really want to know how emergency braking and adaptive cruise control will work with a manual transmission
Based on my understanding of how it works in other manuals, in a full panic stop I believe it’ll just let the engine stall, and adaptive cruise won’t work all the way down to zero.
.....how it will wrk on manual.....
Very dangerously...???... 🤔

Another great presentation by Matt! Thanks!
Thanks Larry!

Love the look just wish performance pack meant more than just brakes
yeah like POWER !!!
The dampers are an upgrade too.
Yeah but it kinda fits the spirit of Initial D since the OG Trueno wasn’t about power
@@dj_gzero agreed 👍..
"Who would want more power" ??
:said - Nobody:
@@here_for_theToyotas response: buy the Supra 😂
So its still a boxer?
What about the Sachs dampers, does it lower the ride height while stiffing the ride than 2023?
Nice to have brembo brakes, that front trueno badge placement looks… interesting tho 😅

Hopefully the performance pack is available for the base model
The two colored hood....makes it look like a car that was in an accident and that this is some sort of temporary tarp.

ACC on manual cars and the big breaks are a huge plus for me.
Obligatory decal needed:

Does it have the BRZ wheel color?
yes PP back! i did not buy a new edition BRZ due to no Brembos and no Sachs. will subaru get them?
My guess is yes but no info from Subaru yet.

Ur not missing much besides the brembos and limited number plaque… you’d be better off upgrading yours and making it unique
@@NightKidBrandon I just want the shift knob lol

Why is it not available in Trueno Blue? lol
Right?
Will the brembos and sachs dampers make their way to the regular GR86?
That's what the Performance Package is for.
Any idea on why Subaru hasn’t came out with any special edition gen2’s while Toyota has released 2 now?
Subaru slackin
If I weren't a muscle car guy, I'd buy 1 of these!!

I believe the adaptive cruise is only for 2024s.

Howdy! PP also comes with Sachs upgraded dampers
860 units is cool cause 86…but ahh I really wanted to consider one of these but not sure I can justify the charge
Will they honor the warranty if the Subaru boxer fails during autocross or track outings?
Hopefully…
@@MattMaranMotoring Thanks Matt. The visual treatment on this looks great. Guess the oil issue has been on my mind.
Hey Matt, do you think Subaru is going to have a similar special edition for the BRZ? After all, we did get BRZ ts when the GT86 TRD came out.
Hopefully not .... I only just got mine recently 😂
Looks fun
The real question is how does this thing drift on a mountain road?
I’m just sad that I’ll never be able to afford one of these till it’s clapped out on the used market 😢

It’s a throwback to the original 86 which also had a trueno edition
doesnt it look like a Porsche
Performance pack 👍👍
Eyesight safety system 👎👎
Don't you spill that wonton
It's not initial d if it's not manual

It Looks very similar to my old 2003 300Z Nissan
Should have named it the Toretto edition. You know because family 😂
I don’t like decals & it’s still overpriced
Last gen is still cooler
A slightly better interior. God knows it needed it.
