    I got a pontoon last season for my lakehouse. Paid $5k, came with a brand new yamaha 9.9 with no hours on it. I Picked up a 3hp electric motor that cruises around 7mph. I like the secondary electric motor that is just silent and ready to go when you put the throttle up no gas fumes or idling noise is nice when you're on a relaxing ride. 2 batteries charged the night before last the entire day of boat rides. There is the option of 10hp electric motor as well. Grab a board of snacks and a cooler, little tv mounted with an antenna for the sports games and a nice radio going. Havn't had a single regret. If you go out at night at all having some bright LED underglow under your boat lighting up the water is some really nice ambiance. I like the light blue look.

      I’ve been thinking about adding some of those LED lights around under the platform that would light up the pontoons and the lake nicely at night. Great explanation of your boat and the beauty of time on the water. Enjoy it! It sounds like you (like us) found out that the joy of pontoon life is something we wish we would have started experiencing many years ago. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

    You can ski behind that, but the water will be really soft. Nice boat, great combination of features and benefits. Good purchase. I've got a 2021 SportFish dlx 22' 150hp - overkill, but it's what the wife wanted...can't say I mind the 30+ mph top speed either.

      I've always liked those SportFish boats - the great combination of watersports/recreation and function for fishing or hanging out on the water. 150HP would be great!

    I got emotional watching this because I purchased a pontoon boat almost 3 years ago - family of four with an aging black Lab who loved the water! We lost her to cancer 1 year after getting our boat but we had a summer with her that I will never forget and I think she went out happy! We scattered her ashes on the river and get to be with her every time we go out now! Thanks for sharing and I hope you make great memories on your boat the way me and my family have done and continue to do every year! Best Wishes and thanks for sharing!

      Thankfully that's never been our experience. We are very excited about the pontoon boat. Already it's been worth the investment. Tons of room - comfortable, and easy to use. I even have been thinking about working while on the boat. I'm sure I could power up my laptop with the Jackery and work on editing videos! :)
      We are thankful for each day we get with Olive. She's been a blessing.

    3 thing u cant sleep on when u find a deal or it will be gone in minutes, boats, trailers/car haulers, rvs/travel trailers. specially in the active season they go like hot cakes now if u can wait till winter there are usually deals to be had, but if your anything like me waiting is for the birds lol i dont like to wait on potential toys cant enjoy them during the winter then u gotta store the dang thig

      You're right on the fact you can't miss an opportunity with boats/rvs/trailers around here in the summer months. It's also a great time to SELL if you have something like that you're not using. You're 100% right - now that I'm used to the pontoon boat, it will certainly be difficult to go back to another type of boat. I like not getting as wet putting the boat in and out of the water, and the comfort of the lounge seats and the amazing storage and open space. We live about 30 minutes from the closest river that this boat can go on - and about 1 hour from the lake we often go to. It certainly would be nice to be closer to the waterways. Thanks for watching!

    Nice boat I grew up in a boating family myself. I’ve had my own boat on the water at Tygart lake since 2004 started out with fiberglass but just recently in the last couple years purchased a Bennington 2375RSB really love the boat definitely nice family boat we don’t wakeboard like we used to so it has a Yamaha 200 motor on it that pulls a skier just fine I didn’t catch in the video where this Lake was. ?

      Boating is certainly a favorite of ours. My first boat was a 17' Sylvan fish and ski boat (sport select). It had a Johnson 70 hp oil injection engine, and a 9.9 kicker. It was a fun boat. I sold it to have money to build a garage. Since that time, I've had a number of Nautique ski boats and Sea Doo PWCs. They're all fun - and each is a different experience. But the pontoon boat may quickly become my favorite. And having a jetski and a pontoon boat may prove to be the ultimate combination.

    I used to trash talk pontoon boats until I started acting as the "designated boat driver" for a "guys weekend" at Lake Norman, a huge man-made lake near Charlotte, NC. Nearly 28' long, and basically a family room on the water. I had to concede my prejudice was misplaced. Congrats on the new boat...good times ahead. 👍😎

    • @PurpleCollarLife
      @PurpleCollarLife  Рік тому +1

      Thanks, Chris! Pontoon boats have really changed in the last 20 years. The tubes are bigger diameter, the engines are larger, and they're more comfortable than ever. My pontoon boat experience growing up was mostly just seeing them put around, and then when my parents rented one every few years for a camping trip. The rental was vinyl floor, a bolted-down picnic table, and whatever lawn chairs you wanted to bring on the boat. Oh - and 9.9 hp oil/gas mix 2-stroke engine with no trim/tilt. If you rented it for 2 hours - don't plan on going far at that speed. Basically out 45 minutes from the marina, and then back to make sure you're back in time to return it. These pontoon boats of today are another story! AND - I am getting older. Slowing down seems to be pretty comfortable. Though - I'm still pretty sure (and I feel challenged to see if it's possible) that I can get up and waterski behind this new pontoon boat.

      You’re not the first person to leave a comment saying that. This is the first pontoon boat I’ve ever had - so I’m not sure how low the prop should be in the water. I can tell you that I asked at the dealership, and they said it’s set up properly. But maybe it depends on where the people/load in the boat is? Maybe if we had a few people sitting in the front of the boat, we’d be more level on plane?

    Tracker boats are made right here in Arkansas and Missouri. White River Marine, which is named after the White River here in Arkansas, is the parent company of Tracker boats. Just an interesting factoid there. I love plugging my state 😊. Very nice boat!! Congratulations on your purchase Chad and Jennifer! My dad has an aluminum flat bottom boat, he likes to fish a lot. I think it's a Ranger. And me personally I enjoy canoeing. Especially on the Buffalo River here. It's a beautiful place to go on a float trip, there is even an area with rapids. So if you enjoy white water rapids, I highly recommend it! Thanks for sharing!! Happy Father's Day!!
