I think the mother keeping her from the so called "Real World" had a lot to do with it and then getting all her money at once. Its sad that the whole cast of Diffrent Strokes is gone now except Todd Bridges.
So sad as she had a lot of potential. Her son followed her path as well which is very common nowadays. I think that Anna Nicole and her son suffered a similar fate.
I'd never seen this show before. I have to say, Marilyn Kagan asks very good questions that elicited thoughtful answers. She also lets them finish their thoughts uninterrupted. Being a good host who can keep the conversation flowing is a real skill.
It's nice that these people are so honest about their life. Too bad Dana couldn't stay clean and passed away. I watched all those shows the kids are on.

Weird. If any studio has kids working on it, shouldn't they have psychological treatment? It seems the industry still is kinda dumb, protect your investment if anything but don't turn a blind eye. Quick fame and exposure can do some harming, this is a mental health thing and we have science to help kids and families dealing with it.

Why would he have any regrets? Who is to say that people with fame are really happy in their lives? We selfishly set people up (in this case, children) to eventually fall. When they inevitably crash we stand over them in their weakest moment to judge, abandon, and humiliate them. Then rinse and repeat. It's a cruel and unrelenting cycle. We are the most vicious and vengeful form of life. I'm ashamed at what we put these three thru, and many others who STILL suffer to this day.
She did not get her money because her money manager/accountant stole all of it along with his other clients for around 18 million dollars. He just disappeared and nobody ever found him. I do not know how the feds or cia could not find him, but she told Howard Stern that on air in an interview. Said she was left only with 250k she had stashed and would not ever touch it. Later on, her son blew his brains out with a gun. I think they said he was in his mid to late 20's. So sad.
