Thanks for posting this. If this is 1991 its one year before Robert Reed passes away from colon cancer and AIDS. He looks good here so it must be right before his diagnosis.
He had a lot of problems he tried to hide on The Brady's (1990) and seemed to rest more often than not in trailer. Henderson recalls how tired he looked and that people sensed something. She saw him take a handful of large pills at one time and thought he might have HIV. It is not known due to how private he was when he was diagnosed but I heard his daughter saw it was a year. Conrade made me tear up a few times here I think mainly just from being surprised by his empathy and respect he clearly had for others. I dont see that a lot. I'm used to seeing mostly violent narcopathy from human beings (to which I loathe) so it moved me to witness it.
@4:15 Yes 🙌 Always loved how he called her “Maudie” 😊
It’s really sad that Robert Reed felt that he had to hide his sexuality and died relatively young. But it’s good thing that Society has come a long way over the last 30 years
Maybe it wasn't that he "had to hide" it. Maybe he just thought it was no one's business and not relevant. Judging by the way he speaks here, he was very intelligent, wise and mature, much more so than today's left-wingers who think identity politics is everything.
He had to hide it because people back then were hugely prejudiced and discriminating.
David & BLT: You are 100% correct. We were just out of the 1980's here, where some ambulances & morticians would NOT handle those with AIDS. Got Aids Yet? (GAY! Get it? *chuckle*chuckle*). The kind of "humor" religious types and right wingers were dispensing, at that time. Hey John, you remember this "knee slapper" don't you? What does AIDS stand for? Another Repub with selective memories, I suspect.
he died early from his perversion.
Jesus saves!
Robert Reed was awesome
They should have had Redd Foxx (he was still living in 1991) John Amos, Sherman Helmsley, Michael Gross, and Alan Thicke there.
Conrad, shut Sjr's, question down, real respectfully.
Good for him that he did. SJR knew Todd was waiting backstage. Was she hoping Conrad would say something that would make it embarrassing for both of them when Todd was introduced?
so glad they included Reginald LOL
BRAVO! Mr. Brady!! If he were ONLY ALIVE to see how true is words were back then. People are attracted to the Brady Bunch because of the love and respect connection of the entire family. I know it's fictional in many ways, but it doesn't mean people don't WANT this kind of family. It takes work!
