I enjoy listening to Hawaiian Obake stories here in Alabama.I hope in my future I can go to Gettysburg and see if I can catch Obake on my camera.I was born and raised in Hawaii and left in 2000.I love Uncle Lopakas story telling.
This is awesome! I'm a Hawaiian that was born on the islands but raised in CT so I've only heard a few of the old legends. This is awesome to be able to hear them on this channel!
in Tahiti before the Europeans arrived we had a rigid cast system, at the very bottom were the Manahune who were the common folk. Manahune were not people of small physical stature but were instead people of small social status. In the end, you have to wonder what is the link between Manahune and Menehune.
There are many theories regarding the Menehune. One theory says that the Menehune were already inhabiting the Hawaiian Islands when the Tahitians came and began oppressing them, calling them "Manahune," beneath them. Another says that the menehune and the manahune were the same people.
A teacher at Waianae High School had many weird incidents happen in his shop class, he saw huge Hawaiian warrior one night that was transparent, objects moved in the shop, equipment that weren't plugged in turned on, and yes, Menehune was also seen in the shop area. He called a Kahuna to bless the place but the Kahuna died three days later, and things still happened.
I didn't see a menehune but there but down in Kaupo there is a little spot where there were some tiny bushes that looked like they were very well groomed by tiny people. Also i think they left something underneath me as i was sleeping because i know there was nothing there when i went to sleep that night.

Aloha from Atlanta. Great story.
The Menehune are a distant branch of Homo Floresiensis, a Dwarf Hominid recently discovered on the Island of Flores in 🇮🇩.
Aloha from Maui ❤
Have you heard about the Menehunes of Waimea River on Kauai? We were told to be respectful in the area to be safe.
This story seems very real because children are very innocent and what they say can be very true.
