    This paddle on Swansea Bay was part of the Kayak Crew's undertaking to paddle the 870 miles or so of the Wales Coast.

    Fantastically informative as usual. Ancient mariners navigated by the stars, the Kayak Krew navigate by the pubs. Cant fault it 💪😁

    Hi there, loving this upload and very informative. I have a route planned soon, the reverse of your own, from Swansea Bay to Mumbles. Going by your tidal information, would you advise to set off just before the tide starts going out? cheers.

      Thanks. If you are going from Swansea beach at the Marina end, then yes I would launch about 30 mins before high tide. The water will be slack then, and by the time you're half way across the bay will start to run towards Mumbles Head. The tide level will still be reasonably high by the time you finish. If you wanted to include going around Mumbles head as part of the route, it is subject to quite nasty tidal races other than about 1 hour either side of high tide.
