The saddest part of the movie was when she said " I'll let you go now"
I watched it last night and could NOT STOP SOBBING OMFG
That made me so sad!!
Tore me apart!
Yes when she said that it broke my heart
Yes I cried like a baby
The fact she can still laugh and still go on after a horrific event that happened to her. She’s so incredibly.
It just shows how incredibly resilient we are as humans, how we can survive pretty much anything & still find our way back to life and happiness. We all have this strength inside us.

I cried so hard during the movie, and she is such an incredible person
Cuz it's make believe.
Just watched the movie, wow, what a courageous young woman, she was only 24 years old.
And alone, omg.
actually she was 23
I cried so hard
I sobbed so hard when i realized its a true story😭
same with how i feel

This comment is so relatable. I knew from the begging that the plot twist would’ve probably been that he wasn’t really there. It turned out that for me the plot twist was that IT’S A TRUE STORY, so incredible and so sad at the same time. Wow.
the beginning of the movie says its a true story...
I know, it tells you in the beginning of the movie. And that made it hard because I went through all the emotions through it knowing it really happened. 💔
Wow to lose that man like that.
There are worst ways to go.
@@traemaxwell(face palm) oh man! You're an absolute fucking moron!
Trae Maxwell Such as?
To lose the love of your life like that 😭💔
@@traemaxwell he was stuck in the middle of nowhere in the water 1500 miles away from land he either drowned or died of hypothermia or hunger/dehydration so no not many ways you can say that are worse than that
Sometimes I find it hard to believe she survived that incident. Her life story is truly one in a million and as hard as I know it had to be. I am glad she shared that story with us and Shailene Woodley is just phenomenal as always.
Truly!
She is the real life version of rose from the titanic
@@ramenlover4424 No, the character Rose is based on Beatrice Wood and she was not on the Titanic. James cameron has stated this several times.
@@ramenlover4424 I hope you're joking lol
@@ramenlover4424 sure you are buddy
No ..
The real life rose was a real life rose. Dipshit
just saw the movie today... it was so heart touching.. make me cry...
When the movie started i was « okay the end is probably happy » and when the movie ended i was « okay, waw my heart are crying » its a beautifull movie and my fav movie 💚
I just watched the movie. I'm a man and I don't know why my heart cried too at end of the story
I didn't know it was a true story so I was like, yeah a dumb cheesy dramatic movie with happy ending but then I was like "bitch da fuq? :'o" not the pleasantest of the surprises
I’m crying just watching this. I don’t think I can handle the movie. On a happy note I watched JEXI last night if y’all want a laugh. ❤️
this was also my reaction
Beautiful movie... what a courageous woman!
24 years old.. indeed richard was there in spirit with her.. she was so strong.. bless her and god bless richard's soul..
Beautiful comment bro. Amen
Do we think she was really hallucinating or she chose to use him as her strength to get through it? There was a moment when she looked through the binoculars to the life boat & had that look on her face of realisation he wasn’t there but then almost chose to ignore it like she needed him to be there in her mind and let it all play out that way?
Did she actually rescued him but at the end he faded away and she either placed him back in the water (he could also sleep away himself seeing end coming) and then she's chosen hallucinations over reality vs hallucinations from get go. Could be either but for screen writing having him on aboard is a story maker... without him - there wouldn't be a story...
@@SILVERSETFILMS in real life she didn’t she knew he was gone when he wasn’t on the anchor line. Haven’t seen the movie but I’ve heard her story
@@SILVERSETFILMS In the film he tells her he internalized his mother and he still asks him questions and here's her voice. That's the same thing she did with Richard and he guided her home. In the real story she says that a voice guided her.
@@SILVERSETFILMS Richard was dead, he wasnt there from the beginning
He was dead in the real story so probably hallucinating.
What a terrifying thing to experience. I can’t even imagine being stranded like that. The ocean is such a monstrous place to be so lost and powerless.
Sad story..but such a brave, wonder woman
I saw this movie on board a cruise ship..
Thanks Norwegian Cruise Line..
😲😐
omg that's terrible lol
haha I can't imagine seeing it in a boat !
I saw Titanic on a cruise to Iceland.....
Yikes
God bless this strong woman. She is a fighter
Just finished watching the movie and let me tell you I cried 🥺. Beautiful story
I just watched a minute earlier. Its a beautiful true to life movie but it made me cry. Its a tragic love story and heart breaking!
I can actually say this movie is bout the only one I nearly cried watching! It's sad and inspirational at the same time! So happy she decided to share this amazing story with us! I thank Netflix as well for making the movie available to watch now I want to read the book!
Adrift is one of the Most heartbreaking and incredible story I've Ever Heard... Tami ... you ARE One of The Strongest Women Alive... I remember the news... but, was pretty young when it all occurred. God Bless you, And, your love for All Things. I'm happy your life is good today...
Can’t stop thinking about the events.. specially when she says (I’ll let you go now)
Can a human be that brave. So touching
I was hoping she would say she wanted to let the world know that there once existed a Richard Sharp. Nevertheless, that ending with the real Tami and the sea just spoke to me - that somewhere under the vast ocean lies Richard Sharp.
Disappointed she didn't. But maybe it's too painful for her.
@@lillybirdmut You're right. ❤
I wish she would have too. But she’s married now and that might be awkward. I can’t imagine watching that movie with her husband ...
I think she killed him
@@reneesantiago6496 omg😂😂 why
A must see movie.....
I was hoping he would ask her if the hallucinations were real.
Great question!!!
She didnt that was just part of the movie
In her story she says a voice guided her home.
watched it today. Heavy on my heart, but wow what an inspiring and incredible journey
Just watched this i cant stop crying 😭😭😭😭😭
Watched the movie last night to 2am...l too cried when l realised Richard had died..so wanted him to live...Tammi is an inspiration to all.
Just finished watching the movie. powerful and intense.
I saw this yesterday with sky vip i was surprised how much i enjoyed it, the acting was very good but the actors i didn't see the chemistry x
Oh it was there and it was so moving. Their chemistry together is so much a part of my love for this film.
I saw very good chemistry
Wow as a female blue water sailor for 30 yrs , I'm stunned at what this 23 year old was able to do to survive. What a strong willed to live and incredible mental state she had and has to do what she did. I don't single hand. My 40 ft boat isn't set up for it nor have I ever wanted to sail alone. I have sailed the California coast, the Florida coast and the northern Caribbean but always with a crew
She heard an audible voice pushing her to survive 3 times. I believe it was God.
Cannot stop crying... OMG
Well i call her wonder woman😍
Who else cried at the end 😭
Shit was sad asf
Me
I watched it yesterday. Hard to make it through this with a wounded man...but at last realize she was actually totally by herself!!
So brave and touching :(
I loved this movie, it was so powerful. I think that Shailene and Sam were so good in it, they’re so talented!
It’s so sad too tho, I hope Tami and their families are doing well all things considered.
I am crying atm. Just checking the person in real life right after I finished watching the movie.
I Have being a solo sailor for all my life (since 16 years old) this movie is a prove that endurance is something engraved in you, the love for sailing it is explicit in our choices after such difficulty's being surpassed by this gigantic woman....congratulations for your courage and love for those wonderful sail boats and the life style that do come with them........soon i'll be back in my beloved "MY WAY" AND EXTREMELY HAPPY ENDED, MY RESPECT AND KEEP ON SAILING LET THE GOOD WINDS TAKE YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok but no need for fat shaming. ugh
I think he means gigantic in courage and endurance not in physical size!
Your comment is very inspirational, thanks :)
@@Roosyer He wasn't talking about being fat, dumbass. SMDH
@@Roosyer he was clearly meaning heroic.

that interview coulda been a lot longer - i want to hear more!
He didn’t know how to ask the right questions lol
@@Ariel737 It's a hard topic and he treaded lightly. But I agree.
Just watched this movie....... WOW Tami you are an inspiration!!!!! This may sound odd but makes me want to take up sailing..... want to teach me Tami?
I love this movie
I just watched this movie and when it was revealed that Richard was thrown overboard and died my heart broke. I bawled like a baby.
what a strong lady!
Bout to watch this movieee.... I'm so excited!
What an amazing story! She has much strength!
I can't even imagine what they went through!
Although, I immediately knew it happened in the 80's because of the GLASS jar of Peanut Butter!
I’m watching this movie as we speak
I think most people who don't know anything about sailing or celestial navigation would have died. I mean, let's say I was out there with someone who was an expert but I knew nothing and this happened? I wouldn't even know what celestial navigating or the math or the how to figure it out. She had the knowledge and somehow managed to use it to survive. She is an amazing person.
pretty darn good movie ..
i think the reporter's appearance and his accent is not appropriate. his words are too fast. his awkard hat distracts the mood. Tami , She is real super hero(heroine) and I want to listen her story more sensitive way, not the way like Mcdonald delivery service : (
there are alot of interviews with her i am sure.. he wasnt the only one.. if u dont like his style, just watch another interview
Oh let's judge your accent and style!
Read the book then.
I agree he’s too light hearted
Oh....be quiet...
You're awesome! so hooked on this movie..
I just watched the movie for the SECOND time,it took quite awhile to watch it again because every time I went back to watch it I would cry even harder it takes a strong woman and her wits to survive any kind of life & death situation had it been someone else they would had perished out there! RIP Richard and god bless all
Yh it's a good job she was already a sailor, and although she was alone I guess she never felt alone. I only just watched it a few hours ago and i still find myself wanting to cry
I just watched this like 1 min ago lol
girl that is currently me lmfao (btw its 1:15 am rn lmfao)
@@rosemarywhite1726 I just watched this movie not knowing what it was. Thinking that I'm going to have something romantic and light on my heart for the night. I had no idea 😩😩
I am in hysterics😭. My heart hurts💔.. It's now 3am and I can't sleep.
Mkay. Thanks for letting us know.
maam im crying right now, i just watched the movie on netflix 🥺😭😔😔
I cant wait to see the movie, by the way what a bold and inspiring woman!
where i can watch the movie?
Kuzmanov Elena maybe it is in your local cinema :)
no its not,i mean where i can find it online?
(not netflix)
Kuzmanov Elena oh okay then idk sorry :/
you can watch it on yts.am... you have to download it with utorrent
Just finished watching this movie with my family, got into my room, locked the door, search everything related to this movie while sobbing (i was holding back my tears during the entire movie bcuz im afraid my family would see it)
I wept too, made me really see the raw bravery of a woman
That’s one of the greatest movies I have ever watched
I was watching the movie...minutes ago
I saw the movie, Awsome and heart wrenching move. I prefer to believe it the will power of a human being, to want to live. instead of focusing of what gender and how that gender is strong. Male or female doesn’t matter to me, it’s The willpower to want to survive.
I believed it until I watched this. Now it seems like it was a me2 movement. Not that I give a fuck that women feel empowered. That's great! But, she seems a bit over joyed to have gone through such a traumatic experience. Idk if I can believe that she went through this. No look of loss in her expressions what so ever and seems like it's a made up experience of a true story to have a record at the boxoffice. Good try Hollywood
Verry inspired me 💗💙
Such an amazing story, also sad but incredible how she made it. ❤
I can’t stop crying, the moment she let richard go.
She's X-Men you know .. she's extra ordinary ... She's brave ! And really It can't be explained in words ... 41 days in a half sink boat all alone in the mid ocean.. oh my God ... It's something you can't even imagine in your fantasy how hard it is .. Mann..wow just wow
Many tears hide in her smile and she's stone heart for world but crying her heart..
And sorry my English are very bad but my words from my heart
I actually went to school with this woman’s daughter, so seeing this movie be made is super surreal.
My heart is broken for her because her daughter died
What a hero. I wish her the absolute best and may the man rest in peace.
i saw this movie on a cruise ship 😳
Her laugh and smile make me feel way better after watching that sad movie.
I just watched the movie. When I realized Tami was the same age as I am now when it happened to her...I can't imagine to survive if it happened to me.
When I knew it is a real story, I guess maybe it’s not a happy ending. But after I saw the full movie, I still was shocked and broken-hearted by the ending.
It's an incredible story of perseverance!
Feel bad for richard he did not survive
Tami you are so strong and real survivor. I just watched movie and tears are stuck in my throat. You are real inspiration 😘
I couldn't believe the power of the hurricane and those huge waves...the unearthly groaning noise the storm makes...people who have been in hurricanes say they sound just like that.
What is weird is I was watching this...and then paused it to say to my mom "in my novel writing class this semester, I'm going to do it on a disaster. Some type of novel where a pair of siblings, or a parent & child, maybe 2 lovers have to work together to save each other. And in the end, one of them is going to be a ghost. "WE DID IT!" "No, you did it, sweetheart. I love you, but it's time for me to leave." And then he or she disappears. My mom has already seen it. She goes "did you see this already?" She points to the TV. "No? Why?" At the end, I went upstairs to my mom and just stared at her. "Wtf......"
Her story will forever touch my heart! Her will for Life is amazing !!!
When it was revealed that she was hallucinating all this while😭😭😭😭
Ms lady survivor....youre a beast i so admire your courage....in no way...i repeat no way i would've survived the weather not to mention the heart break! Glad you survived to tell your story!!! Im in total awe
What an amazing women this lady is Richard was with her in spirit
I just cried all I could during this movie :(
It was great , SW I normally hate but I thought she was amazing
Saya baru nonton film di tahun 2023 ini 🥺 semoga umur panjang serta kesehatan buat ibu Tami 😇🙏 salam dari Indonesia 🇮🇩
Survival mode ! Incredible story ! Loved the film ! Cheryl Strayed , WILD is another !
Muito lindo acabei de assistir
Let me tell you….I wouldn’t survive the first storm. My heart would explode if I were facing an angry sea. I get chest pains seeing this. Good God!
Any moment of any day there is someone, somewhere lost at sea
This thought occurred to me too earlier. :( Somewhere.. out there.. someone could be needing strength right now. I hope a little voice of encouragement I'm giving now reaches them. To whoever needs this right now.. Be strong. You'll get through it.
@@hyacinth.e. I was once told this in the service. They say, "therefore, when you stand watch, watch"
I cried at the end of this amazing movie!
Great movie! I've seen it a few times. A truly remarkable story as well as a beautiful love story.
Such an inspiring woman! I've watched the movie and it was really good too!
An incredible story! I wouldn't last 2 days alone in the middle of no where!
I just watched the movie it's so good and it was a true story
So a strong woman great film thanks for sharing your true experience what you went through ❤
Tami’s daughter Kelly died from carbon monoxide poisoning the year b4 this movie came out, apparently bc of a faulty exhaust pipe installed by her dad, then the other daughter sued her own parents for wrongful death! ☹️ Some people have lives affected by too much tragedy smh. I hope the family is ok now.
Just watched the movie and my heart broke
Recently watched the dvd and i loved it been a fan since Divergent !!
The ocean is so much bigger than people realize… you are just a speck.
Who else cried like a baby?🥺😭
Because it's only her in the interview I'm guessing he didn't make it.
