I was so excited for this light, but the heads up only carry is a huge step backward and will make it an automatic pass. It’s an extra step to rotate the light in hand to turn it on and more importantly it’s no longer deep carry which is important in certain environments. The WM2 is as close to a perfect light for me in terms of size and functionality and has been the only light I’ve carried since it was released. I guess I need to buy a few more for the future just in case.
@@josepheng3754 Thanks for commenting! I did see that, I still personally prefer the WM2. We will see what happens in a few years when they come out with a WM4.
For a "tactical" light turbo/strobe would make more sense instead of medium /strobe. Olight had the turbo /strobe setting all the years I dont know why they changed this. Also I dont understand why they go back to a none reversible clip.
I own the same and mine has a broken sensor and always shout down in limited mode. I did send back and the service says all ok and sensed back. Now I have a expensive flash light which is worse as a cheap china copy. Hands of this flash light!
Personally, while I can appreciate the work that’s gone into the WM3 It’s not what I thought it would be. Im sure it’s still great, Im just underwhelmed by it. Nice video though, good info👍
Hi There, thanx for the review. Is the strobe exactly the same as the gen 2? I've saw on anther promo video the frequencies looks more random but not sure?
I gotta say if you are thinking that we love how the tail cap actuates I think you’re wrong I love the function. I love the UI but that tail cap is nothing like a brisk break of a trigger. It’s mushy like soft potatoes.
i think you messed up with absoutely everything you did on this compared to the warrior mini 2, except for the buttons and sharper striking bezel. When i have flashlights in the pocket, they turn on for some strange reason, the warrior mini 2 shuts off the light when that happens and its very important to have electricity on the battery when you need it, size is better for a tactical light (its marketed: "WARRIOR"), the clip was much better etc, even the sligtly yellow color is better on the eyes for a light for daily use. And the backbutton needs to be halfpress TURBO (for blinding) and full press STROBE (to disorient people that run after you etc) in tactical mode. I hope the mini 2 stays in sale and that you pick up from that if you do a version 4.
Tactical mode does function as you describe it. The new side switch and tail switch both prevent accidental activations. The yellow tint is preferable, for everyday use. But tactical lights should be as bright as possible.
You are correct. The website states its metal. But it doesn't feel like metal. It must be coated aluminum. I recorded this before all the details were published.
I also carried my warrior mini 2 bezel down. But with the new clip, bezel up is very comfortable, and fairly deep carry. What's your biggest reason for preferring bezel down carry? I'm very curious.
Not to butt in, but I like bezel down because my thumb lands on the tail cap naturally when I draw the light. With bezel up, my thumb lands on the side switch, but it's harder to into get to turbo quickly that way. For a tactical light, this is the wrong approach, IMO. But I'm not on a swat team, I'm just some random jackass, haha
Thanks Larry! You have great taste! I The Baton 3 Pro Max is a great value. And it's one of the rare lights avaliable in Warm White! Merry Christmas to you!
Soy fan boy de olight tengo la warrior mini 2 negra y la desert camo esperaba esta mini 3 por mucho tiempo pero me a decepcionado parece mas una baton 3
Thing about this light is that it gets hot super quick

A company named going gear has made an adapter for the clip to go on the opposite side of the warrior mini 3

The second iteration seems to be still rocking 💪
Is it the color temperature? or the pocket clip that does it for you?

Thanks for sharing Sam, lots of good information.
Thanks for watching Greg!
I just ordered 2 of them!
Yip I ordered one, i wish olight made boating lights
Very nice!

8:50 it’s actually a metal stainless steel side switch button not a hard plastic.

It's awesome but I would like to have one more thing. Timers like Baton :)
The WM2 is perfect.
Perfect is a bold choice of words! It's definitely a good light. But the new one is hardly a step backwards.
Not a step backwards, more of a step sideways. The wm2 is a great light I don’t think it’s worth an upgrade to the wm3 😮

will this version work with pressure switch like warrior 3s or original warrior mini did ? thank you
So I’m not the only one with a tailcap problem

Mines a bit more like snapping a french fry
@@OlightCanada haha yeah
I wish they would make an 18650 perun, the 21700 is just to heavy and the mini is to small

The WM2 has a weird, greenish color tint on the lower modes. It's less noticeable on the high modes. Has this been corrected?
Yes. The new LED is cool white on all modes.
I think it’s not a hard plastic but made from metal, the side switch
You are correct. The website states its metal. But it doesn't feel like metal. It must be coated aluminum. I recorded this before all the details were published.
The tip up only carry is a deal breaker for me. Does not look like real deep carry. Too bad.

I like carrying my wm2 light down. The new only one clip location is a pass for me.
I'm curious what your biggest reason for prefering bezel down carry? Is it a quick-draw grip thing?
@@OlightCanada exactly, especially when on a ladder with only one hand free or in a confined space.
@rod1951 you can still carry bezel down with the reversible pocket clip. It's just not deep carry, which I prefer honestly. Easier to grab
I live in California and it is so much nicer listening to your voice rather than the American version.
I disliked the 1st and 2nd WM hopefully I like the new one 🤞
you can in FACT turn off the proximity sensor on the mini 2.
You're right. There is a somewhat convoluted method to turn off the sensor. But there's no easy way to turn it off.

Hate HATE how the clip doesn’t flip like the w2 Smfh. Idk what I want. I want the new for the same price as the 2 but the clip isn’t reversible
