    Former vet assistant here - The reason to buy pet-specific wipes is that a) you do in many cases want something disposable. wiping diarrhea off your long haired cat's butt and legs with a wet cloth and then cleaning that is not fun (also for folks who do not have home laundry is inaccessible/disgusting to store until you can go to the laundry) and b) many wipes for humans have ingredients not safe for pets, pet specific wipes use ingredients that are safe for pets. Sustainability is great but many single use/disposable items do have a real purpose. Also, I would never buy used dog toys, lol. You have nooooo idea what they could be exposed to.

      this is definitely a perspective thing. back in the day the only thing people had were towels so it was totally normal. things get washed and it's clean again! also i think another point is that companies make super specific/specialized products--like there are already baby wipes made with just water that would be fine for wiping a dog's butt. why does the label specifically need to say for pets + have paw prints? it doesn't. it's the same thing repackaged to make people think it's necessary. also you can wash and sanitize stuffed animals! :D it's better for your dog to destroy something already sitting somewhere than to feed into the market by buying new every time. worried about plastic eyes? cut them out and sew the little holes back up. your dog is most likely gonna tear that thing to shreds anyway, so it doesn't have to be perfect. also it's good to supervise pets when they have their toys anyway, especially if you're taking this route. can't watch them? maybe one of those durable rubber toys would be better for the times you're not around.

    • @sproutedcarrot4543
      @sproutedcarrot4543 3 місяці тому +4

      @@calmafterdark912 This isn't always the case. As an ex-Marshalls employee, I have gotten used to the circulated products that come into these types of stores and I know that the ones that don't recirculate are typically actual high quality brand items for a low price. Example: I bought Kleen Kanteen lunch boxes from a Marshalls in the clearance section, 3 for $10, like new. The lunch boxes are also still going strong. Some products are just genuinely overstocked and because they weren't sold in a specific time period, they get handed down to TJX stores etc, to make space for new products, and TJX stores get this problem too so if they stick around long enough they get marked down even more. You typically have to search for the high quality items though, since they usually don't come back once they're gone.

  • @Marshmallow_Trees

  • @SliceofSimple
    @SliceofSimple 6 місяців тому +14

    I won't lie, buying my dog high-quality toys is a splurge I do make. He's stolen a couple of my stuffies and claimed them, and they just... do not last. Whereas one of the toys I bought for him the day I picked him up is still around and a steady favorite. My go-to for cheap "throw away" toys for him is actually old clothes, or socks, that are otherwise getting trashed or repurposed anyways. He can cycle through those to get his destructive intincts out and I can toss them later, and then his handful of hella expensive dog toys last us years and years. I did impulse buy him a cheap dog toy a week or two ago, it was too cute and got the better of me, and... yeah it didn't survive but a day or two. Spending hella money to get GOOD dog toys is worth it, in my opinion, on top of the recyled/thrifted/etc. options! :)

Rats are too small to bathe any other way safely and it keeps them very clean and they smell nice and don’t seem to irritate their skin or fur. Taking my pet rat to get groomed was so expensive because only exotic vets do it and they charge a fortune. I’m guessing they would work well for Guinea pigs and pet mice too.

    3) I have a sensory deal with any hair on my face from cats or dogs and wash clothes tend to leave them all over my face because of the animals I live with and their need to sit on my clean laundry.
    But whenever I don’t use the disposable face wipes I use something like ponds or a oil based cleanser both work pretty great!

    Honestly, I think just buying a few expensive, quality dog toys is a lot better for the planet than just having "throw-away" toys at all. Regular stuffed animals will not last long as they aren't made for your dog to bite into, so even if you're buying used/thrifted toys (which is already risky because of germs, choking hazards, etc.) you're still adding a lot of artificial material to landfills. Just splurge and buy actually good dog toys that will last long and are appropriate for your dog's size, breed, behavior/personality. Plus pet wipes are specifically made for pets are different and safer than "natural" wipes made for humans.

    Please consider taking down this video, the advice to pet owners to buy stuffed kids toys is so dangerous. Those toys are not manufactured with pets in mind, who eat everything, I have lots a dog from a pet toy, let alone a stuffed toy.

    I LOVE my calico cat, she is spoiled like a little baby but, I refuse to buy those pet wipes. She has her own face washers, which I use with warm water and a drop or two of the natural shampoo that her vet recommended.
    Also, I don’t buy her toys. A girlfriend repurposes old clothes into new clothes. I took a few pieces of clothing to her and she made toys for me. Miss Biscuit loves them! 😊

    skin care routine wise:
    I've always been told I have amazing skin, barely any visible pores + amazingly long eyelashes (that one's genetic tho)
    and my routine is just washing my face, then toner, then face cream and that's it, you really don't need anything more than that. Additionally I barely do any makeup so the skincare routine is only on days when I wash my hair 2-3 times a week.
    Hair routine:
    it's actually better to wash your hair as little as possible because shampoo damages it and the more you use shampoo the more oily your scalp will get.
    Washing hair less often is better for your hair, better for the environment and better for your wallet!!!

      Washcloths don’t take off makeup as well as the microfiber cloths. The microfiber cloth can take everything off with just water and it’s very gentle on the eyes.

    • @tvtakeoff
      @tvtakeoff 7 місяців тому

      Plus, microfiber makeup remover cloths are soft on the skin! But I do use a regular washcloth to exfoliate my lips or nose every so often! Highly recommend also looking into face cleansers that also take off makeup so you don’t have to buy two separate products! Look into blueberry bounce cleanser it even removes eye makeup (when used with a makeup remover cloth!) and my skin never looked better 👍

    I love T J Maxx, but I'm so picky about what I take home.
    I get just the skincare I need, candles in containers I'm going to reuse, and cups.
    I'm super choosy about cups, I've been using the same one for 7 years, but I'm due for a new one.
    I found the cutest glass water cup and intricate wine glass, unfortunately someone broke them cry

    those disposable Make up cloths are more clean, because there is constant bacteria on this reusable Cloth .Unless you bother to wash it after every use. Which is super unhigenic ( i don’t know how to type correct english… man )

    • @july3817
      @july3817 3 місяці тому

      It probably depends on how often you wear makeup but not only are disposable wipes bad for your skin, the reusable one can just be thrown in with your laundry. And it has more surface so just use a different part of the towel.

    I wish that perfume refills were more common, I don’t wear it much but I like the roller balls so when my favorite ran out I decided to refill with this other spray perfume I had (too little to spray anymore & just enough for a roller). Getting the spray nozzle off took like 20 minutes, pliers, tweezers, and patience but the convenience of the roller is 😘

    I actually like face masks, sometimes when I'm having a really bad breakout, wearing a thermal mud mask for 20 minutes or so feels like a huge reset and the breakout usually clears up after that. Lip and foot masks are also good for when your skin feels especially dry. But what I think the issue is are the influencers who act like it should be an everyday sort of thing. Treat yourself every so often but don't use a mask every single day lol

    Anything that wipes away make up is not really effective. Try an oil cleanser followed with regular face wash. The oil cleanser breaks down the make up so that it just rinses off. It’s important to follow up with a gentle cleanser so that the oil doesn’t stay on your skin and break you out

    I used to travel and after I was sleeping outside and traveling and not washing my face not using makeup and then when I did wash my face it was just with bar soap or whatever was available...My skin was the clearest glowing most acne-free it's ever been my whole entire life. It's like that meme, a man can use a bar of soap on his whole body and his face looks great or whatever 😂 you do not need all these products. They are clogging your pores! And stripping your natural sebaceous oils. If you're broke, literally just buy plain Ivory soap. And for lotion I use Ponds, regular schmegular blue label lotion! I got a 14 oz jar for $7 on Amazon 😐 my skin is so happy now that I stopped nit picking about it with endless products and skincare routines.
    Love your channel btw ❤ more people need to hear this stuff!

    The t.j Maxx dog toys are absolutely great! Our dog can't use anything very soft like a plushie that is meant for children. She would tear it up immediately and then we would just be hemorrhaging money on buying more. She really needs sturdier toys, plus the squeakers are good for interaction with the animal. I also would worry about the animal eating bow ties or plastic eyes or something like that. That would be on a plushie meant for a kid.

    I haaaaate how trendy sheet masks have got, it's so damaging. If you do feel the need you can buy reusable mask things that you put whatever serum or moisturiser you want underneath and then put the reusable mask on top to be the occlusive layer a sheet mask would normally be. Or put your face under a warm cloth, lie back, listen to some music and just viiibe. ✨
