Yes, Johnny Cook went to be with his Lord and Master in the year 2000. His legacy stills has an impact on souls today as his recorded treasures of Southern Gospel as blessing multitudes! He is "Home" now--joining Vestal, Howard, Sam, Rusty and many many more saints that have already crossed over the Jordan River glowing in the bright Light of the risen Savior Master, Redeemer that each of them served so faithfully in the ministry of Southern Gospel music!!!
Heaven is described so beautifully here in this golden nuggat of a song! The "Happy Goodmans with Johnny Cook" sang this 'heavenly song' with such conviction. All of them in the group are all together now..standing around the Tree of Life, singing to their Lord and Master that they all served faithfully!..Now
that......sounds like HOME ...to me!
They have made it "across the Jordan River" and gathered around the glorious Tree of Life bathing in the bright Light of thier Redeemer with all God's Singers in that City of Gold!!
What a powerful song, with power packed vocals to get the message across to the listener! These beloved singers of the legendary Gospel group, "The Happy Goodmans" are now gathered around the glorious Tree of Life..singing tenor with the other saints gone on before them..surrounded and basking in the Light of thier Holy Redeemer!!Now..that "Sounds like Home to Me" !!
I love Johnny Cook and the Happy Goodmans. It's a sad thing for us that they are gone. They are missed.

This is an amazing duet for two high voices. I like the way they alternate the higher line depending on which singers sang the verse. I am a bit embarrassed that I was unaware of this recording. Does anyone know; is it available comemrcially or could you email it to me so I can put it on my mp3.
