Looking at an overview of WM, that Monday Madness is an excellent way to own a small contract, and vacation as much as you want for cheap. We may jump on this in retirement. I believe the next best step for us is to utilize RCI, both for additional vacations, and at the nightly rate in place of a hotel. This is something I've overlooked, other than briefly eyeballing Last Call inventory when we first bought HGVC. Luckily we deposited all our remaining points in December, and I've got no plans of leaving money on the table. We've got two families that want to hear about how to save with timeshares when we go back to Atlanta next Christmas. They thought we was nuts 14 months ago, but after all the travel they're seeing us do, on a modest budget, they want to know if this can work for them. Wyndham/Worldmark will be my main recommendation.
You got it exactly. You just need to check each week to see what is part of it. There are some locations like Hawaii that book immediately, but many do not. I’ve used Monday madness a lot.
I have a question. I have recently became a member. I was aware of their tactics prior. I bought in. I don’t regret it one bit, except buying it directly from them. However, I am worried after watching so many bad reviews online. It seems it has more to do with the payments and not being able to afford it, which seems like a personal financial decision that was bad. I understand people who post will more than likely post a bad review. Seeing there is so many members and only so many bad ones is a plus. I am planning to pay it all off this month (the first month) to avoid interest. What do you think about this?
Timeshares are a luxury and not an investment financially speaking. While it is true that after about seven years you will have the equivalent of your purchase price in additional costs. I bought to force myself to take a better vacation. Because I have maintenance fees, I work hard to get the most out of the fees. Having a loan makes the payback period much longer. I think it is great you are paying off the loan
I work at wyndham and for 8 years. I also own a gold level with temp platinum benefits as a family. Personally i think the reason people have a hard time is 3 key factors. Wyndham is huge and the interconnectedness of programs can make it confusing about how to book when, how to cancel and rebook or change reservations around. Basically the tactics of wyndham. Second, i think there's tons of misinformation and lacking information related to all the differing systems AND very few salespeople stay in contact with those they sell( best bet for staying connected is to ask for examples via email or text of things they have done for their owners in confusing situations and/or buy at a smaller site as those reps have less owners and less demanding schedules so higher likely hood of help) Lastly most people buy on price only and dont give themselves enoufh of a budget for creating the life they want to live and RARELY understand how expensive alot of the resorts cost especially in prime times. Home plus amenities equals resort and anytime for events, when kids out, holidays, and bigger units makes cost of the trip super expensive- points solve this but you need the points!!!
@@jz5791 appreciate someone from the company responding. I find that the greatest gains for me happened the more I learned. While I agree that some parts of the programs are complex, I have also had success in multiple ways. I normally get a good salesperson who tries to show me some new features and i come prepared with questions. Over time my questions get answered and I learn more. I also call the call center to get things explained. I might have to be transferred to a supervisor but that is how I learn. I also try different things on the website. Timeshare a lot of money so it is worth it for me to learn. Owning a timeshare brings great vacations, but learning how to maximize your usage is work (but worth it). I like to be a frugal traveler so I try to get the most out of my points. Again I appreciate the response from a company employee.
Quick question Cliff. how has renting on Extra Vacations gone for you? Reading on Tug, it doesn't seem to be a hit. The claim is that not all your nights are likely to rent. Someone claims they are getting the runaround on getting paid.
I’ve not done renting on extra holidays although I will try it this year. I have booked using Wyndham rewards (which is extra holidays) and that has worked so far
We just bought Club Wyndham and I suspect we will be invited to presentations when we travel. I need to learn more about Vacasa. I took a look at their site, but didn't see any Wyndham properties. It all just looked like private rental homes.
We have been trying to combine our Worldmark ownership with my daughter’s WM ownership and can’t get WM to stop loosing our combine requests. They don’t communicate at all. The website has many problems and every update has new problems.
That sounds frustrating. I’ve had some issues with the website but appreciate the new features like online waitlists and club pass booking. Marriott and hilton do not support waitlists yet.

Vacasa is a mini Airbnb. There are no Wyndham properties. But hundreds / thousands available. Use Wyndham rewards from presentations

Which timeshare company do you like the best, hilton, Marriott, worldmark
Probably Hilton first because of growth, quality, and price combination. Worldmark close second because of ways to stretch the membership so far.

As always, great information. So much to learn. Love the Monday madness!!
Me too. Love that Monday madness.
SCAM: harassed me and then took my social security number and tried to open an unauthorized line of credit. BEWARE
Sorry that you had such a negative experience
