Excellent and well-rounded review! I like it that you made it both entertaining and educational! You have the admiration and respect of a fellow sauropodomorph palaeontologist! Well done!

I remember watching a documentary in the early 2000s that said that sauropods mysteriously disappeared after the Jurassic. It must have been one of those "When Dinosaurs Ruled" docus that where on the discovery channel that stated this and i assumed it was true for years. It was surprising to discover not only that Alamosaurus was a late surviving sauropod but we had remains of it for such a long time as well.

The documentary must have meant the late Jurassic Sauropods like Brachiosaurus, Apatosaurus, Diplodocus, Apatosaurus, Barosaurus, and others disappeared. But they were replaced by fewer species. And of course, the southern hemisphere Gondwanaland (South America, Africa, India, Australia, New Zealand, Antartica, and Madagascar kept the Jurassic-like fauna.
