Off topic but I work at joann's and have good news, juicy couture is being moved inline which means its going to a permeant home ! so they should be sending us more lol
Not one of my favorite youtubers pulling out an Excel worksheet! I'm a data analyst so I never expected my worlds to collide in this way! When you showed the formula and later said SUM I was like "oh no she didn't!!!!" and shrieked with glee!
I’m so glad you had fun! I was wondering if it would be interesting enough to include in the video and I’m happy it’s paid off :) to at least one person!
Honestly it’s a good idea to reconsider the background idea coz it’s satisfying to know the yarn is actually actually being used, and then you could put all that bulk acrylic in the closet and your room will finally be clean😅
You could keep the labels of the yarn you use up. Then when a new order comes in you can grab those labels and subtract that and at the new ones so you don't have to keep track constantly. I like stats a lot (it's so satisfying when everything is in order :)), but constant upkeep is hard so I always try to find a way that works for me. Love your videos!
Princess Bride is my favorite show and I'm 57, I have 5 posters on my craft room wall of it. I love your channel and watch every video weekly. I don't crochet same things as you but you are so beautiful of a person and inspiration. I started a business with my craft and did better than anticipated. Next year I should do well.
I loooooove spreadsheets and inventory organization! Watching you make that spreadsheet got me super excited to restart my own sheet! I'll be doing that tonight after work! ❤ Thank yoooouu! Also, 144 skeins of JC yarn on hand with another 35 on the way? Simply divine! 💖 You can always have a sticky note or small notebook that you keep tally marks in as you crochet scrunchies and update the excel sheet once a week? That way you're not having to pause in between each skein when you're in the crochet zone. Either way, incredible work! Have a wonderful day today and stay safe! 😊
I know organization can feel fruitless sometimes, but I hope you feel like you accomplished something good!! ❤️ do your best and forget the rest Kelsie
Oh my goodness! Not many people know about Drop Dead Fred! Growing up my family did movie night on Friday and my brothers and I got to pick a movie each. Mine was always Drop Dead Fred. So much so that my Mom finally said she wouldn't rent it anymore. I haven't seen it as an adult but loved it as a kid.
My brother loves that movie, so I've seen it several times when I was younger. I also haven't seen it as an adult, though. I never hear people talk about it either so I was really surprised to hear someone say they've seen it!
Eeee I ordered one of the apricot scrunchies over the weekend, I'm excited to receive it. I love watching your videos, you are so chill and very inspirational. Neji also melts my heart
would love to see the juicy couture behind you in the cubbies. I am also a nut about caking up my yarn... every time I watch someone with a yarn wall behind them, I want to cake it ALLLLL!
Nice job! I bet it feels awesome getting that done! Kind of off topic suggestion, but for snacking and crocheting (gaming, other crafts), I'm messy, so I bought a pair of "gaming chopsticks" that keep the crumblies and stickiness off your fingers and therefore off your projects. I highly suggest them, super easy to use and I can have cheetos while crafting with no worries.
The nerd in me wishes I could use your sale data to run a predictive analysis on your yarn usage. I love spreadsheets and data analysis and yarn and crochet. This video hits all my interests at once I love it. lol
Your vlog inspires me to organize some of my own supplies. That green scrunchie turned out super pretty. Gotta love trivia, for sure. Thanks for sharing with us!🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂
Good morning (from the west coast) queen! I love watching your videos while I knit/crochet it feels like I have a buddy! I was able to catch your live the other day and it was so fun to hang out with other people in chat too. I hope you have an amazing week!
Have you considered using one of those giant clear-ish plastic containers from target or Walmart instead of cardboard? It might make finding colors easier without having to dig through as much. Also, using a wooden dowel to stack all the unused/bulk sugar n cream cones on to make use of the vertical space might clear off some shelf space for you
I also have an inventory control excel spreadsheet for manufacturing and finished goods… I base my yarn inventory on weight as I have pretty accurate usage when it comes to item creation and can calculate my requirements within 5 grams per item
You could always do a quarterly inventory check! Every 3 months do this process to reset your inventory and make sure it’s accurate and keep an eye on your stock. And then you don’t have to worry about daily upkeep :)
Princess Bride is one of my top five favorites movies. Have watched it so many times. Classic. Another fun video and very smart how you organized your Scrunchie yarn. 😊🧶😊
You should print your spreadsheets and mark changes as you use yarn and receive yarn. You would only need to update it when you are ready to reorder yarn.....also love, love drop dead fred and princess bride!
I used to watch Little Monsters all the time. Its rare to hear someone else who knows what it is. I bought it to watch with my kids and they both hated it haha Still love it. It's a classic! I always wanted to Maurice's jacket!
I work at Joann. We just did the yarn expansion for our store. Smaller stores should be getting juicy yarn permanently in January!!!! I hope you get good colors at your Joann. Also, I suggest the app yarn buddy, it helps with the tracking of your stash and you can put in details about your yarn if you need notes like care and location you’re storing it
To keep your list updated, you could collect your yarn sleeves and update the list just from time to time, like bevor ordering sometging or once a week
Unrelated but one of the best purchases I made is a neck light. PERFECT for cozy couch crocheting. I feel like you would like it, Kelsey, for dark road trips
Video idea! If you wanted to clear out some of the yarn on your shelves in the back you could do X amount of projects from each cubby per day or something! Or 1 project per cubby! Might help yarn bust and would definitely be fun to watch ☺️
I’m not even selling on par with you, but I got clear storage boxes 😂my yarn. I have them organized in color similarities and can see from the outside most of what I have available. Super handy. I also have dogs, so keeping the lids on keeps less dog hair from becoming part of a skein. (I have a Great Pyrenees and her hair gets almost everywhere!)
@@quinnhen2325 I know exactly what you mean about Great Pyrenees…I have 3 they spend time outdoors and indoors, but their fur gets all over everything. I have to vacuum several times a day and dusting is a chore for everyday as well. We live on 5 acres and they protect the property, chickens, guineas and eventually we plan on getting goats, so they have a job but I bring them in if it gets too hot outside for them. We also feed them inside and let them lay around while their food digest. I would hate for them to bloat so I don’t rush them back out after eating. I have to keep my yarn covered at all times, even while I crochet my yarn is in a bag covered because I would hate it if their hair got into my projects… I love them though they’re the sweetest dogs. They’re all my family.
I'm old school enough that I would get a dry erase board...write solid/sparkly in the top, all of the color names down the left side and use tally marks. Erase four when you used a skein and add four when you buy a skein.
I did a tracker in my bulletjournal with squares. Every open square is a bought ball of jarn. Every coloured in one is a used one. That's how i know to order without having to start up my computer. It is sorted by colour etc and i wrote down all the info to order.
If you did want to keep your spreadsheet up to date, you could just set all the labels you use by your computer and enter them when you get new yarn (since the labels tell you the color!)
Keeping things updated is the hardest part tbh haha but I know how to do some automatic processes so that you could just fill out a Google form every time you use a color and it would automatically update the inventory sheet. Maybe something I’ll work on at some point for funsies haha
Hello, I think you should count how many scrunchies of each colour was sold before this restock and not made yet, because if I understand the system correctly they are subtracted from stock on website but the yarn was not used so in reality you have less in stock and some of them could be sold twice. Hope you understand what I mean, English is not my first language. Love your videos :)
My husband and I took our 12 to to see Labyrinth in concert last night. It was awesome to see the movie with a live band doing all the instrumentals for the songs and other parts of the movie
Hi Kelsie, maybe you can keep your labels and update your inventory like once a week or so, or just update your spread sheet when you are getting ready to place an order.
Great vlog wish I was as motivated as you to 😮take stock of my yarn. I am definitely not into spread sheets on the computer paper yes computer no tooo old to 😂want to learn.
I think a peg board with compatible baskets would be a great way to organize then you will know what you have too! also.. for your inventory issue... keep the skein labels on your desk and update it once a week.
A way to keep track of your yarn inventory could be keeping used labels in a bag and once in a while you take it out, edit the document for all of them and then throw them out after?
Imo keeping track of inventory may be easier if you mark in shopify the extra quantity available each time you receive a new skein of juicy. That way you only have to remember to update when you get a new box in the mail or take a shopping trip
Inventory idea: Maybe you can keep the yarntags from the used Juice Couture in a little bag and count them at the end of the week, to update youre inventory. So you don't have to do it everey skein.😊
Love the spreadsheet! Would be neat to see how many scrunchies over time per colour you’ve made. Ps those office supply places even sell mattresses and washer driers if they can wholesale stock. 😂
Hi, Watching while crocheting. Had to 😅 when you said you probably won’t keep the spreadsheet up. Totally understand that. Poor Neji and the vacuum. 🧶🫂
Also - you could make the excel browser tab into a group with youtube and any other site you use daily so it opens automatically. But I'll wait for this video again in 6mo
You could use Excel/Google Sheets to actually be able to show you how many you should have at a time. I use it for fabric/vinyl for bag making. It involved the Excel formulas SUMIF and SUMIFS. And you just have to have a row of used. When you use a skein put a 1 in that column (with another column representing the color) and with the SUMIF equation you can have it tally those up and show you how many you used in a specific color. Same with new yarn you get. Have a row that adds the colors together. Based upon the entry of what color. Hopefully that makes sense.
I'd keep the bands from the skeins you use up and then when you have a stack go through and deduct those from the spreadsheet so it feels less laborious :)
I love the way you say notre dame! I have only ever pronounced it noter dame with a long a. I googled it and it showed both pronunciations. Anyways I love the way you say it, it sounds so elegant.

Oh killer that’s great
@@PassioKnitKelsie yeah im excited, thats probably why theres a bunch of new colors as well.
You should try watching the quest for Camelot it's a cartoon
What does that mea?
@@cbarkins normally juicy couture is on a stack out in the walkway. Coming in randomly but now it's going to have a actually shelf spot a actual home

Literally said the same thing! I think this would be the best option for sure

10:22 a good word for this could be “output” so like “scrunchies output” would be 4 per skein etc
or “yield” same deal, how many/much x (stock/scrunchies) yielded per material (skeins)
