  • In 2014, Stefania Koenigswein came to Poland for the first time in 60 years to meet Teresa Zawadzki, daughter of Jan and Antonina Żabiński. Jan was the director of the Warsaw ZOO, a place where during World War II, he and his wife helped Jews during the Holocaust. Stefania Koenigswein is one of many survivors in the ZOO. We present an account from the oral history collection of POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
