Blackmailers were shot. Andrzej Urbańczyk’s account

During World War II, Andrzej Urbańczyk’s parents reared a daughter, Elżunia Asz, who was adopted by them from the convent in Częstochowa (Poland). The girl turned out to be Jewish. Once upon a time, blackmailers appeared at home demanding a ransom for a child. Andrzej’s father, Marian Urbańczyk, informed a command of the Armia Krajowa (Home Army) about blackmailers. We present an account from the oral history collection of POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
