Happy new year Ben!!! I think that given my lifes routine I would love to someday practice 6 hours a day. Honestly i lack consistency and discipline, and only play guitar to write my own songs and noodle. I will try my best to progressively get to those 6 hours. Thanks for all your knowledge, greetings from Argentina🇦🇷
I used to practice 8 hours-ish a day. It was a huge growth time, but unless you're a professional musician, it doesn't seem sustainable. Good routine though.
Thanks so much for sharing, you're right - 8 hrs a day is not for everyone, but as long you're enjoying playing/music, that's the most important thing! 😀
Argh, I hate sight reading. But I just went and practiced that along with some phrasing immediately after hearing it lol. Hope to get better one day. Even though it is less overwhelming now I still find the amount of material and stuff to go through somewhat overwhelming. The amount of standards, getting a bebop vocabulary etc. Then transcribing, here it is almost the time aspect that is the hardest. Once I have listened to a piece sooo many times it is obviously easier to wrap your head around it. But Transcribing solos gets really hard when you have not listened to it 100s of times and can sing it from memory. And my attention span is too short for doing that :P
@@beneunson I will try to read more frequently. I just got the new book on 2-5-1 lines by Eric Jacobson and it is very digestible for me who kinda can read but it just takes so long time. Learning 3 bar lines is fairly simple an if I do this a few times every week it will hopefully lead to something :)
practice the actual application or use of an idea, belief, or method, as opposed to theories relating to it. why does your audio sound like it pre recorded pristine no fret buzz pick scrapes string noise this is the you tube guitarist i am perfect no mistakes hear to hear!
Actually it's the technique I've developed over the past 25 years of live playing, touring and recording. The guitar is recorded both acoustically (visible microphone on my shirt, and also an SM57 in the opening solo) and with its electric signal, so there is plenty of pick noise in all recorded examples if you listen carefully. Thanks for watching

Mediating before or after a session is highly recommended! Things seems to stick easier
