    While it wasn't exactly her main point, I was struck by the ways she presented so much of her information. It was a treat to go beyond pie charts and lines, to think beyond X and Y axis. The nuances of checking the time that she brought out certainly gave that a human touch.

      except she is so "obsessed with data" that she can't make a point past that. Or am I missing something?
      I am thinking now maybe this video is thin trolling, so after watching it people stop relying on anecdotal evidences and start actually reading data?

    How nice! - "In the Renaissance humanism, European intellectuals placed the human nature instead of God at the center of their view of the world. I believe something similar needs to happen with the universe of data." - It is just what the first man with his wife did in the beginning...reap the fruits

    I simply don't agree, become a better you...but for who? definitely not for yourself but for others, how you get represented by others, to improve yourself for them. Surely you should understand why you're like that form a better understand of yourself and drive to that instead.

      * it's pun

  • @FlyWR
    @FlyWR 7 років тому +15

    for me this was vague humanitarian nonsense. No logic, no reason, no point.

    • @FlyWR
      @FlyWR 7 років тому +1

      and your answer still has no point to me. What is "damage to society"? IMO it's something which disrupts native social functions and culture. For example propaganda, mind control and other war technology.
      But this is exactly what she is about: "let's feel more instead of analyzing". So people become mindless flimsy mass with no knowledge but with opinions.
      "Designers of internet traffic systems for example need to think of ways around damage to society"? Really? Built-in censorship is good somehow now?!
      I see no good in strong unsubstantiated opinions based on anecdotal evidences of yellow press. Humans are bad at statistics and long term predictions. Logic is good. Obsessions are bad. Let's not get more of that.

    • @FlyWR
