I have the Gen 6 XP and when fitted a slightly lighter shaft got the spin rate up quite a bit. It's all in the fitting and they do have a premium feel.
Hi. I was fitted for black ops 6 weeks ago. I went for 2 degrees weaker lofts with a 7 iron at 30 degrees and 1/4 inch longer.also went for MCC plus 4 grips as I get a bit active with my right hand. You can be fitted via the website too. So pxg are fully customised. Just so you are aware. Thanks Andy
Guys great job! I love how your reviews are based on data, your channel is so extremely overlooked. You guys seem like solid dudes to hangout with too! I've been extremely torn between the XP, P and Ts and you guys solved that. Please keep it up and don't base your success on the number of subscribers, it does not reflect the great work you guys have been doing! Just an advice for the future videos, maybe you guys could expand more on forgiveness because the weekend golfer like me are always prioritizing forgiveness. I can't tell between the XP, P and Ts which would be easier/more forgiving for days when we are playing badly. Based on your data I would assume XP , but tempted with the Ps just because there is less offset , I know the offset is there to help us slice less but it messed me up when I'm trying to align/aim the ball
Thanks so much for your feedback and input we really do appreciate it. The Ps are a really strong option, particularly at more average speed as the extra loft is a little easier to launch over the XP. If you go XP just make sure you can launch them, spin them and stop them. Hope that helps.
Awesome video! Love the comparison charts. I'm going to get the Black Ops I'm a senior golfer and like oversized clubs. I also like the stronger lofted clubs, if I got the Black Ops and made the lofts 1 or 2 degrees stronger would that affect its stopping power on greens?
Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate. Yes. Less loft equals more ball speed, but less backspin, less shot height and a shallower landing angle, hope that helps.
I fit into standard length irons but I play graphite irons +2 inches to get the swing weight up. A bonus is that it adds club head speed and I don't have to stoop down for chip shots.
Hi Guys great review thank you one question it seems you are saying slower swing speed player will find it easier to hit the P rather than the XP is that correct even though the XP has more forgiveness thank you
Thanks James, sounds like you might need some extra loft to get shots to a good peak height with enough spin to stop. The GEN7 P has the most loft but it's also a more compact head, so you will need to be a reasonably consistent striker. Try it along side the Black Ops and watch the ball flight really carefully. Hope that helps.
I am debating between the PXG Gen 7 XP or the PXG Black Ops 5 - PW , GW other than the 520 canadian dollars difference in price I am still having a tough time choosing ( I know first world problems ) I am 59 and play with a 8 handicap arthritis and father time is catching up to me so i am looking for something forgiving and easy to hit and something for distance also your thoughts ? or anyone elses is welcomed thx cheers from Canada OH or should i be looking at the GEN 6 ?
It's hard to give really solid advice without seeing you hitting both models and having a look at the data differences. Obviously the Black Ops costs less, but it's worth noting they have a fraction more loft (1deg in the 7-iron) than the XP too. If speed isn't a trait you boast make sure you can launch the XP to a decent shot height with good levels of spin. If you can't and you really want a forged iron that can be tailored to you without moving the CG the 0311 P might also be an option. You can't make a bad choice between GEN6 and GEN7 they're both really good, obviously the later wrings out a fraction more MOI performance. Hope that helps.
@@GOLFADDICT65 We would see the Black Ops as being a fraction more forgiving than the Stealth. The blade length is a little longer and the soles are a little wider. Hope that helps.
I play 0211 XCor2 not looking to move up yet. I like game improvement, forgiveness is important to me because I strike it all over the face. I am 71. Thanks folks.
I couldn't catch some of the things that was said by the gentleman with the strong Scottish accent to the right. 9:54 "I felt like the Black Ops was quite ????" could not make out what he said.
@@todaysgolfer Thanks. I went in for a fitting today and tried Black Ops and Gen 7 xp. My numbers were close to the same in both clubs. The XP felt lighter. It seems as though I could shape the ball better with the XP, theoretically, but I ended up purchasing the Black Ops because I am more interested in protecting against a hook. My angle of descent was 45 with an 80 mph swing speed. I was also able to carry the ball one club further than my older clubs.
These Black ops must be good as you give them a 4 rating which is better than QI, Mizuno HL, Smoke HL, and AI 300. High praise better try them! Not a bad price either!

Great review as usual guys ! Can you please share what shaft was used in the Gen 7 P , thx . Just need a reference as I’m going for a fitting soon .
Thanks for the feedback, it was the Nippon Modus Tour 105, hope that helps.
@@todaysgolferawesome, thanks ! that’s the shaft currently use 👍🏾

I’m thinking of new irons, but in the lead for me because of MyGolfSpy are the Tour Edge E723’s. I wonder how they compare to the Black Ops?
Tour Edge are really hit and miss at getting us samples as they're not widely available here in the UK, so we haven't hit the E723's. Sorry.
Great video. I’m definitely a slow swinger. What would you recommend?

AI smoke also available in higher lofts
At 80 yrs old which set would be best fix if I purchase a set?
@@fredrobertson2225 IMHO is the black ops

The Black Ops have a larger profile than the irons you mention Seve, hence why the forgiveness rating is so high. 👍
@@todaysgolfer Many thanks!
Black ops = ping g730 ?
It could do a similar job to the G430 or G730 to be fair.
