Great guide, thank you for posting it. You inspired me to make one for a kids sleepover at the local wildlife park. Just finished it and am delighted. BTW I used free leftover insulation foam to carve the stones.
That’s so realistic way more realistic than the one I made I just did a round piece of cardboard and just made a long piece of cardboard and round it out around the circle then painted it reddish and gray as a metal one
This is exactly what I'm going to make but will add orange lights and cover them with "stuff" and then spray paint them so they look like coal. This shines brighter but the flickering lights are cool too.
Love this creative project! Thanks for sharing it. Where did you get the polystyrene? It looks like 2" polystyrene insulation but usually that thickness comes in pink or blue. It will be painted anyway, so that doesn't matter; I'm just wondering if I'm on the right track with what the sheeting is. Other craft styrofoam blocks I've seen are the kind that are made up of tiny balls of styrofoam, which wouldn't cut as cleanly. Thanks for any guidance you can give!
Myndi Lawrence Thank you very much! I het this polystyrene at a store that sells building materials and equipment. I live in the Netherlands so i don't exactly know where you could het it in other countries. it is ideed like styrofoam but without the tiny balls, I'm guessing it's exactly the same but compressed. It's used as insulation. Maybe if you ask your local hardware store for compressed styrofoam, or styrofoam without the "balls" they know what you mean. If you can't find it maybe you could use regular styrofoam but seal it with clay or wood glue to hide the balls. Hope this helps a little
good start but can definitely be improved upon. instead of white lights, I would use red/orange and added a better flicker circuit than what's in those tiny tea lights. but like I said, it's a good start.
I have to ask who use are using for background music. I am pretty sure I had that music and I used to play it for my daughter when she was a baby...please share. I would love to know! Great video. I am going to try this for a bon voyage party for her as she gets ready to hike the AT

I can't wait to try this out. Thank you. I think we are long lost cousins btw. I'm a Kagheorgis, from Romania.
That's very intresting!
Great tutorial! Thank you 🙏🏻
