I’m new to embroidery so when it says “6 strands” does that mean I use 6 strands of thread in the needle which would then become 12 because you fold it or 3 strands which then become 6 when you fold it?
When you embroider, you don't make a knot to join both ends of the floss (aka the thread). Instead, you simply going to pull the floss through the eye of the needle and let a few inches hang loose and knot the other end. I hope this helped
When it is said 6 strand's you just put a knot on one side of the thread where the other end is kept free .when it's said 12 strands you combine both threads and put a knot at the end.and when it's 3 strands you separate 3 strands from 6 and then one end is tied a knot a other one is kept free.hope you understood
