I always like the fact that you could barely make out any details... It's just this hulking thing with glowing eyes.
Yes, the gloomy, dark setting on the N64 is magic. Way better than in later versions.
When he swings his swords at 1:16 . I remember being so fucking hyped up as a kid.
I love it how Zelda screams every time Link takes damage from Ganon
IK right? This is what makes a perfect final boss fight.
Zelda screaming when Link takes damage is VERY APPROPRIATE because Ganon inflicts as much damage as an Iron Knuckle (Taking Away 2 Full Hearts with the Great Fairy of Courage's Upgrade which is equivalent to 4 Full Hearts if Ganon is fought without the aforementioned upgrade)!
Zelda doesn't want her man die, and the Ganon does 4 hearts of damage.
Navi: This time we fight together!
*5 seconds later*
Navi: I have no idea what his weak point is!
Sasuga, Navi.
Hey at least you get z targeting back!
Thanks for nothing as usual, Navi.
@@86blackberrywhite
Link: You had ONE job , Just the one.
And yet she hovers over Ganons tail. Little liar.
I love this fight. It embodies what a final boss should be. All of the character storylines have come together and are in one giant epic conclusion that show three characters who have been on a journey together since the beginning of the game. They were all after he same goal, and each brought something new to the fight, all embodied by which part of the Triforce they had.
Ganondorf was always keen to underestimate you, some kid with no powers from a forest. He didn’t underestimate Zelda, but still never truly considered her a threat. But during the first boss fight, the battle was different. He was laughing, he was playing with you, and when you defeat him, you finally see the complete shock and desperation on his face, unable to cope with what just happened. When he decides to destroy the castle, it is almost in denial at what happened. But when he survives, we get this, a true mastery of a final boss battle and conclusion. He finally does not underestimate you. You have his full and undivided attention, shown how he surrounds you with flame. You think you’re so tough? Remember that he embodies power. And when he let’s out that final roar to transform, it’s finally give you the full wrath of what he is capable of, given by that final shot where he towers over and Link’s look of absolute fear, holding onto whatever courage he has left.
Absolute genius.
And to think that in the timeline known as downfall timeline he actually defeats Link gives your comment full points
@@billyartiga2899 Oh absolutely. Fans complain that it makes no sense to structure the timeline in that particular way, but I argue it only stresses just how seriously close this fight actually is. It could've gone either way...
man, the fact that zelda screams if you get hit too bad,
thats why this game is legendary.
Botw is amazing but oot is just ... on another level
She's watching the only person who can save Hyrule get possibly killed by a monster; so much is on the line and if Link loses, that's it. She's absolutely terrified and having that emotion displayed like this elevated the fight from "Okay this is the final battle in a video game" to "Holy shit I have to win."
One of the most incredible moments in any video game ever. It breaks my heart that I'll never get to relive this fight for the first time again.
i run this game on my laptop with the help of project64
Fighting him with your longshot? I also like to live dangerously
Something that I continue to gush about in the older versions of this game is how the slow frame rate adds to the cinematic effect of this battle that cannot be found in newer, higher framerate versions. The music at 0:55 quiets to allow Ganondorf's scream to be the only audio in the scene. Then, once Ganon finishes his transformation and the music finishes the opening fanfare, I absolutely love that the main battle theme hits right when the title "GANON" appears, which adds so much gravity to the reveal and the stakes. This is only possible because the framerate slows the scene down enough to match the timing of the music. Newer versions of this game with higher framerates just don't have the effect to me, as the scene always seems to move faster than the music does.
Yeah, its because the game's animations are directly tied to the framerate, so a higher framerate means the animations are faster, which is why this game is unplayable on emulators at 60fps. The audio doesn't, hence why the sync and overlap is all over the place. I agree, and its why I'll always seek out the original, because the finer details in the timing are unparalleled
Yeah, emulators often mess it up. It's always great in original N64 hardware.
the most epic battle, the best game ever, oh my god i cry everytime i see this, THIS IS GAMING!
as a kid i got depressed at the end
5:43 rated E for everyone!
the blood was changed to green in the later versions of the game
@@anonymousperson1706 Yes it was
@@DanTheMan33088 yeah it was, I forgot
This thing falls somewhere in my top 5 final bosses of all time, and my favorite Zelda final boss period... And incidentally, THIS version specifically. As good as Ocarina 3D is as a whole, MAN did they mess this up. Ganon is too easy to see. Here? When he's shrouded in darkness for almost the entire tight, you only get little flashes of him when lightning strikes and during the cutscenes. He is a monster inside and out all throughout this fight, and it still really holds up.
Zelda U, I issue you a challenge: Give me a better final boss fight than this one!
HalfwayBeret About that....
Challenge failed
They failed the challenge, but there will be a BOTW 2, so, keep your hopes and don't throw them away yet
The n64 version is a lot more violent with red blood and stabbing Ganon in the face. Newer versions turn the blood green and the 3ds version makes him suffer a lot less.
Ishin is up there now
It's worth noting that should one take too long to retrieve the Master Sword back, Ganon will get back on his feet, though it does not take as long to wound him again compared to when the battle first begins.
people dont seem to understand what Navi says... she says this time we fight together because you can Z/L target Ganon
Basically Ganon is an Iron Knuckle on steroids. He does as much damage with one sword swipe as the IK, but is a lot more maneuverable, and if you don't know how to spam the strategy where you roll between his legs and hit his tail, you're in for a long fight.
This is something that the 3DS remake will never ever be able to replicate, yes it's fine to look at updated graphics but to mess up such small details as the lighting efects and some other minor stuff it really makes a huge difference.
A shame indeed, the same goes for the Majora's Mask remake, which is even worse than what they did with Ocarina of time.
...theres just something about the animations, and the way link moves in the world in the original that's unreplaceable. Even the way the shield fits his body is perfect in OOT. 3DS is good, but something is lost
The only two things I liked about majoras mask 3D was the song of double time where I can go to any hour of the day instead of going from day to night in the original and the other is the owl save which is permanent because I didn’t like to play the song pf time in the n64 and forget to do some quests and have to start from the beginning of the three days
3ds version is very good too added some qol changes and of course the updated graphics but the game in general is too vibrant bright and colourful which doesn't suit this game especially this fight
Not to mention Zelda shrieks in terror if you get hit!!
the presence. the man caused lightning storms just by existing
Simply the most epic game ever.
3:52 NOOOOOO!!!!
Because the adventure was over.
One of the better final boss battles in games. The music, atmosphere with the darkness, fire and lightning, Ganon's design and attacks. Awesome
Easy final battle but the setting of the battle and the music makes it the most epic ganon fight in my opinion
back then u can put blood in an e rating game
Ganon was the first Dark Souls Boss we all came to know and love.
tbf the screams that zelda let out when you got hit definitely gave me more motivation to defeat him - like she sounds so distressed i have got to defeat ganon so she can feel better
Best battle of all time
Every time I did this battle, I always finished Ganon with the charged spin attack.
the original 1.0 version of this fight on N64 is the BEST version of this fight, no contest. Every other version after has speed issues or some other problem. This fight and the cutscene introducing ganon was designed with the N64's struggle with lag in the scene. in the 3ds version (or even dedicated versions like ship of harkainian) the animation of everything isn't re-timed to be slower to fit with the music, the lighting is all bright and ruined what made a relatively simple fight more difficult and impactful, and allll that other stuff, especially the removal of the blood when ganon gets a sword injected right into his skull at the end. FUCK! unless another version comes out that fixes this fight, the original 1.0 release on hardware is the ONLY way to play this fight. just the fact you can tell the N64 is struggling to run the game at this point gives me goosebumps for some reason. no other version captures the feeling 1.0 gives me.
I have yet to experience a better boss fight in a zelda game. The hype is fking crazy
The Deku nuts work too... just ten hits and he's down
It's amazing how something so (practically) useless would actually be beneficial in the endgame.
@@BuddingResearcher what do you mean? Deku nuts are one of the best items in the game, they are especially useful against Stalfos, Lizalfos and Dark Link
true in retrospect but first play through you really had no idea how to fight him.
Homie really used the hookshot agains't Ganon
“And now shall you deal with ME, O Hero of Time! And all the powers of HELL!”
The Gerudo thief Ganondorf Dragmire has become the evil king Ganon.
The fact that Ganon doesn’t come with an alias, means it gets real!
Link stabs Ganon in the head here. He doesn't survive from lack of trying, he survives because he's just that damn powerful at this point. To be really nerdy I'd also point out that in the earlier games they killed him too. In fact Ocarina of Time and Four Swords Adventures are the only games where they actually use the sealing method. And really how often does he stay dead anyway?
With the amount of excruciating agony he’s in death would have been a mercy. Hearing those high pitch shrieks he lets out as his spine is severed and his face is cut open over and over makes me feels so sorry for him. He was trying to protect his people and got possessed it’s not even his fault. No wonder he smiles when he gets a mercy killing in wind waker.
@@zacharykenniston748 He’s not possessed by Demise, that’s like saying Zelda is possessed by Hylia
navi annoyed the hell out of me most of the time but you best believe i was hyped when she was ready to go into battle with me!
It's been 25 years since I've played this game but I remember it just like it was yesterday....
1) when I lost the Master Sword I just switched to the one I've Forged from the Gorons. And it's more powerful on enemies as well.
2) when I am in his back i used the jump attack instead and sometimes i could hit him twice... It's a two handed sword but very powerful... And it defeated him.faster too.
3) The only catch i will have to switch back to the Master Sword to give the final animation blow attack... That's.. all...
I'm scared....
Le combat de la Légende
5:40 Link laying the smackdown.
2:12 For those taking the 3-Heart Challenge WITHOUT the Great Fairy of Courage's upgrade, if Ganon strikes Link, it will kill him INSTANTLY because Ganon takes away 2 Full Hearts with the aforementioned upgrade which is equivalent to 4 Full Hearts without the upgrade (the same amount of damage an Iron Knuckle inflicts by comparison)!
Watch Link's eyes bulge around 1:20 just before he blocks Ganon's swings with the Master Sword. So many awesome details in this game!
He does seem calm as hell as he watches his sword fly away lmao
years have passed. the fact that you don´t fight "Ganon, the evil being", or "Ganon the great calamity"
you fight Ganon no subtitle. you reached the end. this is your enemy.
Ocarina of time is sitll relevent in 2023 and this last fight is super exhilarating.
I wonder... can you beat Ganon with a Deku stick?
yes, the deku stick does the same amount of damage as the master sword so it's actually faster to do it with them, except that adult Link can't normally use them
No because you need the master sword to actually finish him off. You can best him with any weapon but when Zelda pins him, you need the master sword
To let you guys know, when Link pierce Ganondorf's head. This is red magic, not blood.😊
It is blood. That's why it was changed to green in the next version of the game.
@@circuitnerd but Ocarina of Time is a kid's game. That's why it looks like it's liquid but some type of magic that confuses players to think that's blood, maybe Nintendo found out and tries to change it.
He has the Biggoron sword, why is he using a longshot????
And even then, the Biggoron Sword cannot assure that you will defeat Ganon as the Master Sword is necessary for the last two blows to him.
Does that even matter? What the fuck is wrong with people trying to make others play the way they would do it, so what if he uses farts to destroy him, would that be the wrong way even if it's effective? Gosh.
Ganon was too easy
To make it alot easier for you guys my method is targeting ganon's head and use the light arrows to stun him and use your hammer or another light arrow for striking his tail just make sure you have two bottles of green potion...thats my quickest way of defeating him...i never took a hit...
I recall my brother or uncle fighting Ganondorf... when he beat him, the game was over, no Ganon fight at all. Is it possible to fight just Ganondorf and beat the game without facing Ganon?
Do you recall what happened afterwards? Did it just fade in to the scene at 6:09 or did go straight to when Zelda takes Link back in time?
Sounds like a major glitch with the cartridge.
I THINK that's what happened.
Is Ganon always the final boss and not just Ganondorf as long as you do something specific? Or is Ganon being the final boss normal for everyone?
*****
Ganon being the final boss is normal. :U
I think it was either some weird pirate/bootleg cartridge, or was a glitch.
That Guy Who Sleeps in the Hood of Your Car Totally not a pirated/bootleg copy, I tell you. It is completely legit golden cartridge.
Sounds like flawed memory then. That or you're from another reality.
An epic but quite easy boss fight.
Stabbed him all in his shit at 5:43 lol
never saw anyone use the Hookshot. most people would use the big Goron sword.
this is the most violent and accurate brutality in a kids game!!!
Anybody else agree that some of the animations are better in the n64 version than the 3ds
Yeah, a good example being the animation of the roar at 1:34. It looks so _intense,_ and the 3ds version sadly lost that.
I'm also talking about animations throughout the entire game like climbing up a ledge in my opinion better in n64
Gabon was too easy
Why use the hookshot? I usually use the Megaton hammer.
Or the Biggoron Sword
The part when he's about to morph into Ganon and does it, it can somehow relate to a couple of lyrical lines we hear from the song, Down with the Sickness.
"There is no turning back now
You've woken up the demon in MEEEEEEEE!"
Zelda and Link to become an together with defeat Ganon more all The Six Sages as the darkness one that in Hyrule life my destiny of world he was born off really make The Master Sword magical.
ENGLISH HARD.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Final Boss Battle Ganon) is the final boss in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Ganon’s roars are reused from Queen Gohma, the first boss in the game. Link must defeat Ganon by slashing him in the Tail with the Biggoron’s Sword, the Megaton Hammer, or shooting him with Light Arrows. Oddly enough, Deku Nuts can also be used to damage him. To reach the tail. Link can do several things; he can roll through Ganon’s legs, stun him with a Light Arrow, or hit his face repeatedly with the Longshot while sidestepping around him.
what happen to ganondorf
he used the triforce of power to turn into a giant pig beast. after he was defeated, the six sages used their powers to send ganondorf into the void of the evil realm.
I like adult link with the master sword and princess zelda and she said Clifford the master sword is here hurry up and princess zelda she used her power hold the great evil king used the master sword and final blow
damn...you play just like me when i play it as a kid ;) i dont have biggorronssword...i took ganon with a hook ;)
You have the Biggoron's Sword. Why not use it??
All weapons that aren't the Master Sword are set to a shared (and reduced) damage output when used on Ganon. It wouldn't have made much of a difference.
@@splitjawjanitor5369 I say that because it would’ve been better than shooting him with the Longshot. My preferred method of attack is using the Biggoron’s Sword and Megaton Hammer until I can reacquire the Master Sword.
@@alexanderbrouwers4524 Different methods for different people. Personally I use the Light Arrows and the Megaton Hammer.
@@splitjawjanitor5369 For all of the future bosses after Volvagia, I like to use the Biggoron’s Sword to soften them up, and then use the Master Sword to finish them off.
You were supposed to shoot him in the face with a Light Arrow, then attack using the Biggoron Sword or Megaton Hammer.
You are supposed to play it any fucking way you want to, welcome to there is no proper way of playing any game but enjoy it is what matters.
And thanks for highlighting the MOST OBVIOUS WAY to defeat him, duh. You might as well hit his tail with a deku stick, so why not have fun doing it?
Nobody would have the Biggoron sword on their first playthrough, anyway. Unless they had to cheat and use google, like wimps do with the water temple.
Qwerty Computer I got the Biggoron sword on my first playthrough, and that was back in the 90s when we didn’t have google.
Did the guy playing this just not have Biggoron's sword? Also, lol at wasting your time shooting light arrows at his face. Just roll between his legs, hit his tail, roll back through, rinse and repeat. Pick up master sword, repeat pattern.
Easiest final boss ever.
These kids and their, “Easiest final boss ever” yeah sure this was back when 3D games like this were brand fucking knew and no one had a damn clue what the fuck to do. Sure Mario 64 came out and people got a taste of it then, but this was completely different! Plus, the fear this transformation put people into back then likely had their adrenaline pumping, like playing Escape from Tarkov at nighttime! Nothing can be more terrifying than thinking that you just killed the final boss, then he proceeds to transform into a huge silhouette in near pitch black darkness, and while doing so he hits the main weapon that’s supposed to kill him, out of your hand. Most people thought they were FUCKED. My dad sure did! I still remember that shit, and I’ll never forget it.
i usually just keep roll under him then spam the b button on his tail 8D
man this guy is pretty average
Don't expect everyone to be a speedrunner
