As someone who has spent significant time as a passenger in one of these cars , I can tell you with all confidence, those back seats weren't meant for people. At all.
I love the 5-speed manual transmission yes you have to roll the gears on your own because it's not going to change the gears for you because yes it's not an automatic transmission
@@burningknuckle26 yeah I feel like the manual transmission works good but yes you have to shift yourself because they the machine is not going to do it for you
For anyone who doesn't know Craig Lieberman was a technical advisor for the first two Fast and Furious movies and his Supra and Maxima were in the first one. He makes videos going over the cars and his experience. If anyone is interested check him out.
It's sad that they don't make this eclipse cars anymore like this because back then these are the ancestors of the sports cards and even though they're not as luxurious comparing it to the apostles to luxury they are very very very very very cool
Well this car is low on tech by today's standards I feel like this is a wonderful sports cars to drive from back in the day too bad they don't make them like they used to anymore!
I've seen many Big Friggin Bottle fails, but I think this was the first Back Seat Review fail for me lol. Also I hope you have a very Merry Christmas Zach, and just wanted to thank you for all the great content you've given us this year!
Even though these cars are not the most luxurious companion to luxury vehicles from this era I feel like it looks super cool yes you're going to get the basics yes the materials are not going to be the most luxurious comparing it to European luxury cars or any luxury car in general but what you see is what you get
The Fast and Furious saga isn't over yet! My buddy, Blake Farris and I are taking it back to the beginning before and up to the first movie in 2001 through an upcoming 2-part, 7 to possibly 10 season TV show called Los Angeles: The Toretto Story and Los Angeles: The O'Conner Story that will be dedicated to the memory of the late, great Paul Walker and his family. Both shows take place from 1986-2001 and we get to see the entire cast grow up through their teenage years into adulthood while still in high school. The teaser trailer and some of the behind-the-scenes photos are already out! I can't wait for everyone to see the final product when it's done! It's gonna be a blast!
Well the 4 cylinder that they used in the Mitsubishi eclipse back then it used to be very awesome it wasn't fast by modern-day standards but it got the job done but it's not as luxurious comparing it to a Lexus or a BMW or an Audi or any other brand you know of
Even though the seats may not be the softest or the most luxurious I feel like this car yes you can take it to the track and you can take it to an autocross event but if you're hoping for a luxury interior that Rivals Mercedes-Benz or Rolls-Royce then you're going to look somewhere else
@@LuisUrbietaI had a 1997 GS-T. The GSX had power seats, leather seats and all wheel drive.. BUT It was hella heavier. The GS-T was faster. I loved it but totaled it unfortunately
It's so sad that they don't make these eclipse LS cars like this anymore in today's society because back then these used to be very very cool. What are they fast? No but they were super cool
I had a 1995 GS in high school and I really loved that car. It was a total beater with the upholstery falling apart inside and had a handful of issues and leaks and the sunroof was hit or miss if it wanted to work. But with all of that it was fun to drive! And yes it was not fast. I think it only made 140hp or thereabouts but I still felt awesome. Had I known about the GS-T or GSX, I probably would have bought one instead, but I knew nothing about cars when I got it.
The GST (front wheel drive) and GSX (AWD) are both turbos and fast. They didn’t have tons of power but people tuned them to be very powerful . The tuned turbo is a legit tuner car from that era.
Yes anyone who sees the movies it is a nice car yes it's slacking safety technology but keep in mind it is in another area where back then safety wasn't part of the equation or luxury
Well this car lacks in modern-day luxuries it makes up for the driving experience and even though it's not fast by today's standards it is a wonderful car that you can take in the city not basically on long trips comparing it to an Infiniti or an Audi or any other car
@LuisUrbieta I always say that peak cars are from the 90's, yep we now have more comfort and tech but at the time cars were reliable enough and fun without too much crap in them
@@LDCoronel1 yeah I feel like cars from the day they were tanks but don't think about that card from today they're not as reliable because today's cars are more electronics have more computers that can go back but with this car yes it's just you and the car you don't have any fancy screens or gauge clusters that can modify the way they look
@@LDCoronel1 I hope you have a dandy have a merry christmas. Even though it's not quite just not comparing it to a modern-day luxury car I still think this eclipse is a great great car to buy even in spite of the lack of technology by today's standards
But you do get the basics when it comes to the radio the air conditioning but you didn't get heated or ventilated seats you didn't get any infotainment systems but it's a 30-year-old car what else can you get
#rememberthebuster. I still have my 98 gsx eclipse that I bought brand new in 98 when I was 18. 2 engines later she still runs in the streets looking and sounding nice. 🐌💥💨💨💨
Back when people somehow thought four-cylinder cars with a bunch of crap added on and a rusted-out exhaust were fast. I can't believe Mitsubishi's engineers didn't realize that their FWD compact needed that much downforce over the back wheels so someone had to bolt on a wing to fix that. I thought Fast & Furious was a spy/action series. Even for movie spies, this is gaudy.
Ticket to the queen of salt because these cars back then didn't didn't have the same quality in level as a lexus, infinity, mercedes-benz, bmw, or any of the disciples of luxury

Finally a GS. Everyone does gsT or gsX.
Yes the backseat is tight but who gives a dollar about it because it's not a luxury car it's not a two-door SUV that has been luxurious or modern
