What a gorgeous message about the reason for the season of Christmas. I am blessed to have been one of the early attendees at Redeemer Presbyterian Church when Tim Keller was the Pastor and gave weekly sermons. Each week I walked in to church excited to learn something new about Jesus, and I'd walk out speechless about what new thing I'd learned about Jesus. I never tire of listening to Tim Keller share his excitement for and about the gospel of the unsearchably great Creator of the universe, Jesus.

amen. Christianity teaches being good is not enough. . . it is only by trusting our Savior. Jesus.

I love how Timothy Keller explains how Jesus Christ is the only major religious figure to proclaim Himself as a deity and details the implications of such.

Jesus came to the world in the most unimaginable way and is very different than what we many people could imagine about God. God came to Earth at a time when no one expected much and in a way very few could've actually imagined. Mary claims to have been impregnated by the Holy Spirit which made Joseph desire to divorce her quietly but an angel intervenes and visits Joseph telling him how such was the Truth! And among all the cultures of the time, first century Jews were the last people to think God could come in the form of a man. Jesus lives an unordinary life according to many and even spends His life homeless and on the run during His ministry. He claims that the first will be last along with preaching how radical the Kingdom of Heaven truly is. Many people supress this part and wrongfully portray Jesus in Western culture and often as a portrayal of Him being some type of a easygoing hippie-like figure. But Jesus was radical and offensive to nearly everyone around Him in reality as He demanded much and criticized every possible alternative worldview. How exclusivity is criticized is not something just in our culture but a view shared during even the times of Jesus as pluralistic and "tolerant" worldviews were very popular even in His times.

Timothy Keller is one of the best preachers but this is not his best sermon. I still enjoyed it though.

Wahaha Chao That’s the problem with today’s church and how the enemy comes in to deceive. Christians continually want to be impressed with a “TED Talk” because they find plain scripture and teaching “boring”.

I have heard zero ways or scripture in this that definitely says Jesus is God. None. Emanuel? God can be with us through Jesus without him BEING God. Sins can be forgiven if Jesus was GIVEN. Authority to do so. This is all very One sided. But no. Jesus is not assumed to be God anywhere in this Just not true. First century Christians did NOT worship Jesus as God Anywhere in any document I really love Keller. But this is all very one sided and seen with trinity glasses on. Just not factual

Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

Jesus' divinity is indeed factual and biblical:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God." (John 1:1)
"Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”" (John 20:28)
"The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.”" (John 10:33)
See also Philippians 2:6, John 5:18, Colossians 1:15, Hebrews 1:2-3

@@lincolnlarsen3070 all can be interpreted legitimately in different ways and have been

      As in Jesus is God
There is a reason this debate raged for hundreds of years after Christ
      It is NOT. Clear

@@nomadicrecovery1586 Just because different interpretations exist doesn't mean that they are all valid.
Just because a debate exists doesn't mean the answer is unknowable.
And if Tim Keller is reading with his "trinity glasses on," it seems you're reading with skeptical glasses on.
