The driver seat squeaking is enough to drive a man insane. No amount of grease seems to fix it. The walk around and under the hood video will be uploaded shortly. I wanted to take this bus on a 'typical' school bus route to see how it behaved. Truthfully, after a few minutes I didn't put any thought into the fact that it was electric.
Probably would not hear that if the bus was diesel. It's the fact the bus is so quiet that it becomes an issue. Certainly something for the manufacturer to address.
I've been waiting to see a POV video with this new Electric IC-CE. It's amazing how smooth this thing is, and like you said after a while you forget it's electric. Because in my mind it's making all regular bus noises besides having an engine, but the driving behaviour that this bus has looks almost identical and almost sounds identical to a traditional diesel powered bus.
I think the only time I put thought into it being electric was sitting at a light or stop sign. Otherwise it felt pretty normal. Handles nice too with the weight distribution of the batteries.
@@KodieS pretty amazing what you can do with technology when it comes to vehicle behaviour. It's really interesting how you can just change the performance behaviour of your own personal vehicle with just the press of a button.
Thank you for uploading this video! My district is on a waiting list for Electric CE's and they actually don't sound that bad. I am not a fan of the turn signals but I can get used to it and maybe my opinion will change overtime. Love how the bus sounds when it stops though! 🤩
Good driving video of driving the fully electric IC CE School bus the nice thing about Electric school buses is that it's good for the environment I enjoyed the video
Actually the batteries used in all evs are now harmful to the environment then dusk and put together. And disposing of the batteries is even worse on the environment. Diesel with def is much more safe then people think and with all the emissions regulations out today had vehicle are even better then the past.
@@MistyTheBorderCollie I’m glad even the newer buses in my district have a rear differential humming noise. Some of the 2009 ic CEs in my district don’t have a hum surprisingly.
The electric buses are not yet efficient to my district's needs. Out of district runs would have their buses run out of electricity (roughly a 110 mi. round trip). I'm assuming heaters and air compressors would need new systems just to work from the diesel buses. Not to mention the whole concept of an electric vehicle requiring the resources that make the battery and 'fuel' to it would just be used from more fossil fuels than the typical diesel engine and it's fuel. Just seems more of a concept than an actual alternative. I could be wrong with what I've said, but currently, that's just what makes the most sense to me. Also why isn't the dash warning you that the master switch isn't on? (New dashboard I'm assuming never had the capability?)
It has the ability to sound the alarm, it depends on how it's programmed. That's an option. Also, there are arguments on both sides. EV buses make sense in some areas, but not all. These use a high voltage air compressor and power steering pump. Otherwise all of the parts are identical to a diesel bus. Same valves, lines, routing, etc.
There are plenty of those all over the country. School buses are a unique application and are built accordingly. Many school buses travel dirt or gravel roads every day and wouldn't be able to do so with low clearance. Also, rear engine buses typically do not perform well in snowy or dusty climates. Additionally, they're built to the strictest standards of any vehicle in the United States. The height of the floor is intentional as it keeps students out of the impact zone in the event of a collision.

No idea what IC Bus was thinking when they made this specific bus.

What’s the rage on that bus?
I love that you can hear the wheel noise/rear end loud and clear on these. Lol Nice video!

Or Blue Bird and Thomas can do that too.

My district bought 46 of these, and it replaced every diesel bus in the fleet.
That sucks.
Wooahhhhh 🔥🔥🔥😍😍😍😍
Hopefully my district spring isd will get these electric ic ce handicap fully electric ces buses 😍😍😍😍
Hopefully My School District Will Get Them In The Future
Pretty cool video love it :)
I really like this all-electric bus now bestie.
At least you can still hear the rear axle noise on this bus.
And it reminds me of the differential noise on the diesel ic CE buses especially the vt365 ic CE.
@@charlesrodriguez7984 Yeah, I’ve also heard a sound that reminds me of the VT365 and the Maxxforce 7.

it’s very interesting to see my thomas c2 jouley
I like the sound of the motor whine. besides that it's very boring.
I like that I can still hear the rear axle hum. It is kinda boring.
I hope Blue Bird, Thomas Built Buses and the other bus manufacturer for can deployed electric buses in New York soon. 🤔🤔🤔👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻💯💯💯
It's not the same without the dual noise!
That is a very nice bus

Nice video what number is this bus for its school district
?
honestly its not that bad it sounds like gasoline
Lord the blinkers are a no no
i love the sound tbh

it’s stopped or the ce is about to run out the power
They still use Air doors on this Bus? I thought it would be Electric operated since it’s, well, Electric.
The point of an EV is to save fuel though… not air 🤣

It's optional because ours have electric doors
It's 2023 and yet the US still can't have low entry rear engine busses

How far does it drive on a single charge
Depends. 70 miles on the coldest days, up to 200 on the warmest.
