Everything has the B6.7 in it now. I miss the individuality that made certain buses stand out in good and bad ways. Now a Thomas C2 sounds like an IC CE.
I miss it too. The DT made IC’s unique. Every time I hear one I immediately think IC CE/International Durastar. Thomas buses used MBE engines that also make them unique. Cat engines also made buses unique but now it’s all boring Cummins engines.
@@isaiahanderson7237 idk if you’re familiar with transit buses but ICs remind me of the 09 new flyers with less grunt and no trans wine obviously due to the 2500 and the b400r being different

Seems like a nice and quiet ride. Transmission is a little busy though. Always shifting at the slightest throttle input. I understand economy is the name of the game but manufacturers for cars and other vehicles are programming their transmissions weird these days.
That’s how Allison’s usually behave. My district has a lot of CE’s with the Cummins and 6th is unlocked. usually the transmission is busy especially because they have exhaust brakes.
My biggest complaint about this bus is that it’s not offered with the maxxforce 😂 I know it’s unrealistic to ever think that could happen but I’d love it
It's either a 5 or 6... Regardless it's the same transmission, but if it's a 5 speed they just electronically lock out 6th... It's still a 6 speed mechanically, it's just not allowed to shift into 6th... It's the Allison 2500 PTS
@@nicksevers07 thx so much! If im correct it’s a 6 speed but it almost sounds like there’s a “7th gear” around 40 mph, idk if it’s an overdrive or something but idk. Thanks though
@@noahctbusguy0665 It really depends on the rear end too, my 24 CE I ride has a 6.14 rear end and will go into 6th at 35. Also what you hear in 2nd gear is the torque converter lockup, then it goes into 3rd which isn't far off from 2nds ratio. 2nd is 1.81 while 3rd is 1.41. 5th is 0.74 and 6th 0.64 so they aren't that far apart either.
There is a lot of things international had removed which breaks their “keeping hands near or on steering wheel the entire time” rule they pointed out such as warning light activation buttons and door switches which made me feel very uncomfortable when I first saw this bus at first and I still feel that way. The other thing I absolutely was appalled about when I watched some test runs with it was the service door has a lock on it which can cause extreme damage to the glass and the door itself when that lock breaks because that’s the only thing keeping that door closed. There was one other thing that international refused to admit to which was the electric parking brake and when that fails good luck staying alive especially when your air brakes fail with it (not uncommon sadly). Last thing I hate is the right windshield wiper cannot go fully down which can cause a serious accident when it catches your attention which is extremely dangerous to kids let alone the driver. International should have done better than that and also did the Allison transmission manufacturers go out of business or something?
I’m not a fan of that Intelipark parking brake. Should have not gone with that. But I think that’s also an option that you can delete when you order the bus to have the standard yellow push/pull knob put in
Boy that's a pretty smooth and quiet school bus.
This bus is growing on me. That vibration of a loose panel in the bus is a no no lol. Reminds me of visions 😆
I don't like how quiet it is. I want people to hear my coming through at 5 in the morning 😂😂
Shove a maxxforce DT in there and we’re all good! 🤣
@@charlesrodriguez7984 I had a Maxxforce DT and OMG was it loud. You herd me up the street 🤣
@@jackschissler255they are loud but feel powerful on a school bus. They surely are more vibrating than Cummins engines are.

What do you think? I think it’s cool but I miss the body mounted turn signal light option on the front. Now you can only get them on the hood.

Seems like a nice and quiet ride. Transmission is a little busy though. Always shifting at the slightest throttle input. I understand economy is the name of the game but manufacturers for cars and other vehicles are programming their transmissions weird these days.
The transmission is constantly trying to decide the best gear for fuel economy (higher gears) and power (lower gears) based on throttle input.
That’s how Allison’s usually behave. My district has a lot of CE’s with the Cummins and 6th is unlocked. usually the transmission is busy especially because they have exhaust brakes.
The new shifters have a manual mode, like many cars do.
Awesome
AWESOME Video!! How was the bus ride? The 3rd Gen IC CE is a beauty!
COOL!
@@JoshuaGalka Hello
I’ve noticed the transmission shifts earlier.
That has something to do with the axle gear ratios. My districts Cummins CEs shift that fast because of their lower gearing.
While The AT545s on the bluebirds shifts late lmao I miss that bus 10
How is the new bus? It's gotta be for the 24-25 School Year, I think.
How was it?
Is the bus equipped with A/C (MCC, Thermo King, or Trans Air)? Also, what's the need for three defroster fans?
These new ones have driver A/C standard, as for the external units I'm not sure for this one specifically.
The turn signal sounds similar to a 2005 CE turn signal.
Smooth ride indeed
Good ride in the new ICCE school bus. When did you buy the bus????
In your opinion how does it drive compared to a Thomas, or a recent 2nd gen CE300?
The wheels in the bus g I es round and round
is this a 5 or 6 speed transmission
bro why isn’t he using the parking break at the railroad … I wanted to see but I guess not
Because it’s not required by law.
Transmission?

Maxxforce was trash well at least the 7 was don’t wish for that to come back. The DT’s were workhorses though.
Is this still a 6 speed automatic trans? Also what’s the model name of the trans if u know? Thx!
