Don't let that lamp in the bathroom catch fire to the baskets up there on the shelf. Love the makeover.
@FarmhouseonBoone for extra lighting LD strips?
Kudos to Luke for painting the whole things sharp without any blue tape!
He is a get it done person for sure!
@@FarmhouseonBooneI like it when a man just gets on with it all under 5 minutes. 😂😂😂
We have a 1910 farmhouse in MD. All our painting has to be hand cut in. Taping is worthless as nothing is really square or even. You get good at it. Looks good.
I love that you kept that piece above the washer and dryer. Painting it was a major win! So beautiful.
Thank you! 😊
I had to color code towels for different areas to make it so everyone in the house knows where to put certain towels. So kitchen towels, cow towels, bathroom towels and basement bathroom towels are all location specific colors so that everyone knows if something is out of place.
Lisa whipping out the sewing machine on the baby changing table/washing machine/kids’ closet/bathroom is what makes this my absolute favorite channel on UA-cam.
Your talent is mind blowing! You are the epitome of a go-getter!
haha...thank you!
I ponder things for so long they never get done...lol. 🤣
It's easy to do, but once you just make a move it gets easier every time and you get so much more accomplished
I struggle with this!
Yes to the family closet! I'm a mom to 8 and we have found the family closet to be more convenient for me doing laundry . No more having to carry loads up and down stairs and convenient to dress little ones on the main floor. We do this for kids under 11. Other pros for this is children who are young tend to pull all clothes out of their drawers and then the bedroom is a mess, we also keep toys out of the bedroom , It makes a room tidy and less overwhelming when children need to settle down for sleeping. We hung wooden rods to hang about 5 outfits at a time per child. Transformation looks great!
I really like it! The dark colour added so much. My laundry space is right at our entrance so not easy to change anything really. But thankful for a large shelf above the washer and dryer that holds laundry supplies!
Thanks so much! 😊
it's so perfect! I paused your video about three times, to go organized something in my house... then came back to watch, then pause, organized! Thank you for the calming inspirational video! xo
Thanks for watching. Glad it helped spark motivation.
Lisa I can only imagine how you were as a child.
How your parents were able to keep up with you.
You think something, you do it. I’ve never seen anyone use a sewing machine like that. Such confidence!! Love it! You’re so inspiring. I’ve always loved the idea of the family closet. Now my kids are too old but it’s such a great idea!
Please tell Luke how much we appreciate all of his efforts!
We have a smaller home with 4 kids and we keep our 5 and 6 year old boys’ clothes in the bathroom/laundry room and it helps make our mornings a lot more seamless. It also frees up room in their bedrooms, which are small.
Your husband sure makes painting look easy with his cutting in skills. 😊
I love that color!!! Urbane Bronze. Just painted my lower kitchen cabinets that color to create a more moody and contrasting look❤️ love your videos!!!
Thank you! I love the color.
Another idea for curtains that are too long: Just fold them over a bit at the top and clip them! The extra fold makes a ruffle, and then if you ever want to move them, you haven't lost any length. I love your clean and cozy style =)
loving the color...
thank you!
Urbane bronze is beautiful. My son and his wife painted their cabinets that color. So rich and warm. ❤
Did urbane bronze in bedroom wall and bathroom ceiling recently. Love that color :)
Sounds so pretty...we love it!
You are amazing ❤
It looks amazing! Way to go Luke and Lisa! A quick paint up top and new curtains and you've changed it pretty drastically!
I think painting the outlet and light switch covers the same as the wall color (matching where they are) would help the eye not stop on them or allow them to stand out as much. But that's a nit picky thing that's not necessary at all! It's just something that caught my eye so I thought I'd mention it.
Thanks so much!!
Beautiful!!! I just love your home. I have a suggestion, painting the ceiling the same urbane bronze color would really elevate the look and add to the coziness (contrary to what is believed, it would NOT make the room feel smaller or ceilings shorter)
Love the colour you added it looks so good. Also love how you just hauled out the sewing machine onto the washer to hem the curtains.
haha...yes, just wanted to get it done!
Our laundry room is also the mechanical room. It’s not too small. It would be nice to have another toilet in our 1980s split level, and I told my husband we could just add a commode and sink to the laundry room. He thought it was a weird idea. I thought it was practical. 😁
My Dad did that in a house we lived in growing up. It was so helpful to have another toilet and sink in our house.
Love this. So beautiful and cozy. If you did a u shape rod you could do curtains do the floor and not see the washer and dryer at all in your guest bath.
Love how cozy & cottagy it feels now! Your bravery with colors paid off ❤
It did!
I'm always impressed by you but combining bleach sans funnel is a whole new level 😂 ❤❤❤ Happy Mother's Day!! 💐
thank you!
My laundry room is basically a big closet, so I understand the challenge. I've been creating mood boards to decide how to design the best functionality of the small space for my family's needs. Growing up we owned a chain of laundromats, so I am finicky and picky to what I need and want, lol. Excited to see what you came up with :)
I like the wooden piece above the washer and dryer painted, but I think it would have been nice without it being painted as well... since you added the baskets on the shelves and the darker color behind it, I think it would've tied all the wood and wicker together! I'M NOT SAYING IT DOESN'T LOOK AMAZING PAINTED, I just think it would've looked great as it was too! 😊
Ahhh.....you've so relieved my guilt for also "throwing things in the general direction" of where they should go. Thanks~! and GREAT re-do🥰
Glad I could help!
Love your bathroom makeover & little kids clothes solution! What was the little cube like product you were using for your soap dispenser and toilet? Love your videos, thanks for bringing some beauty and pleasantness to my life.❤
Those baskets are so dreamy! I love them. The lamp + moody wall color is so inviting and cottage-y. Beautifully done, Lisa.
Thanks so much! 😊
The laundry/ bathroom is not only lovely but practical. In the you have set it up. Cheers for Luke…he wields a fast and steady paint brush. ❤
He get's things done thats for sure!
Super cute laundry! When my kids were little we had a giant tub at the back door with all their shoes in it, and a basket with all their socks. I had an express toy drawer at the back door so they could pick one toy before we rushed out the door. The suburban had a toy drawer and the seat pockets were stuffed with their books. A basket in the back of the car had extra clothes and wipes and diapers. These tricks saved me many times over. I also had a soothing classical CD that we listened to on the way home to make them sleepy and ready for a nap.
all great ideas!
I must say you have utilised the space better and made it look beautiful at the same time. Unfortunately, my washer is in my kitchen ( I live in England) and I don’t have space for a utility room. I store my laundry detergent and softener under my kitchen sink ( luckily that space is big!
I do however, have my dryer outside in my shed, and I fixed that up nicely! My husband has put up a small shelf where I can keep dryer sheets and a few things.
The other unfortunate thing is we were thinking about extending our kitchen and adding a small utility room, it will interfere with any light we get.
Oh well, it has served me well for almost 24 years, what’s another how much longer we stay here. lol!
I didn't think it could look prettier, but I love the changes! Your style is so beautiful.
Thank you...I am really loving the change!
I love that you are in a stage now where you are adding more color to your already beautiful home
it has taken a while to really get a vision for adding more colors...I love what we have added!
Lisa, you and Luke are such an inspiring pair! So fun to watch everything you come up with.
Thank you!
I like all your choices!! I probably would not have added the curtains, but is cute!👏👏😊
thanks
Amazing idea to keep the littles clothes in the laundry room! How creative to have a tub in there as well. Never would have considered this 😍
these are the type of unusual setups that you find in old houses!
Yes to the sewing machine right at the project! I’ve used mine in the basement and out in the garage (sitting right on the floor to repair a big tent.
Yes! I try not to overthink projects, I like to get it done.
I love this! Great inspiration for me also, my laundry room is very small, too, and I also have cleaning supplies in my laundry room and under my sink, it should really all be under my sink so I can make my laundry room pretty! It looks great!
it really had boosted my enjoyment in this room!
The lamp is cute but be careful with it so close to the curtains and wicker baskets. Looks good!
Greetings! Thoroughly enjoy your content, but especially things related to the house and renovations. You do a wonderful job of not being pressured into pure preservation/restoring to the period of the house, but respect your home and it's wonderful features while making it feel like a home..not a museum. Your use of antiques, but with practical and calming colors (not some of what we saw in the Victorian period!) complement each other so well and make a livable and delightful space for your family! We live in a 130yo home, so face that challenge...getting there though we could be your parents and it's still a fun (most of the time) journey!! QUESTION: Do you have a video which would include how you sourced and completed the top & sink for your vanity make-over in the downstairs laundry/bathroom? We already have one such project in this home from a 1960s reno (but needs a new countertop and sink at some point). Want to do such ourselves in a 1/2 bath..looking for the right piece for the base atm! THANKS and many blessings.
Yes, I will link the blog post where I shared about the vanity ..www.farmhouseonboone.com/antique-dresser-turned-into-vanity
@@FarmhouseonBoone THANK YOU.....think we JUST found a piece on FB marketplace that's going to work in a half bath (formerly two shallow closets in adjoining rooms!) Literally waiting to hear when can go get it. Blessings!
Just beautiful Lisa. You're so creative and making such a cozy haven for your family.
Looks so nice & has become so much more functional since it’s a multi purpose room. Love that you’ve placed the littles clothes in there since that’s where they dress! My husband & I live in a small home with only one bathroom. I decided to put our underwear in a drawer in the bath. We already have our pjs & housecoat in there too. Makes it so simple after a bath. FYI…we lived here with our 4 kids in 1100 sq ft & 1 bath and got them grown & out🤣. 3 bedrooms & only 3 small (1 door) closets. You definitely learn to make do. I love how you come up with such great ideas for you home!! Beauty & Function!!❤
Thanks for sharing with us!
Dear Lisa, as always your videos are beautiful and thanks for sharing so many wonderful tips.
Thank you so much!
Looks beautiful like everything you do!!! You and your family are such an inspiration!! Thanks for sharing. God Bless 🙏🤗
Thank you so much!
Well done Lisa ! I love the mood of the room, I so appreciate your organization skills!
Thank you...I love the change.
OMG I love it!! Love the colour you chose. Very warm and soothing. And it all looks to work perfectly for your family.
I'm really enjoying it.
Here in the UK we don’t typically get laundry rooms so they squeeze the washing machines in the kitchen instead. My already tiny kitchen made smaller by endless laundry for a family of seven!
This makes me want to organise it all for ease of use but it’s almost impossible.
God bless you and your family. ❤
I can see how that would be difficult...hopefully you can get some inspiration to make it a little easier for you!
Looks really nice! Enjoy your much deserved bath time.
What a charming refresh to the laundry room. I know it was was a lot of work but you made it look so easy. You are an inspiration again, Lisa🎉❤
Thanks for following along.
Your husband is a risk taker. When i paint a room, I have to tape things off, and cutting in takes me forever. If i dont take these extra steps, disaster ensues!
I'm always the designated "trimmer" because I do like he does. I HATE tape 😂 I always have to go back and touch it up anyways lol
Lisa, your decorating skills are always so inspiring. Thanks for sharing. The room turned out beautiful!
Thank you...I'm enjoying it.
Beautiful! So warm. Love the color!😊
Thank you, I'm really enjoying it.
Our laundry room is on our main-floor bathroom that guests use. That's typical in Colonial-style houses built in our state around 15-20 years ago. It's separated by bifold doors which is a good idea cosmetically but a pain to deal with when you do laundry as your elbows always bump them. Anyway, nice redo in your bathroom!!
When you have a little different of a set up, you can really start to come up with creative solutions that maybe you wouldn't have though of otherwise.
I love listening to you. Your videos are always so relaxing.
Glad you like them!
Good morning Lisa. Just watched Laura. Now grabbing another coffee to watch you...
Good morning!
hey girl- love the video! 😁😉 The bathroom looks really good! Luke did a great job👍 We have our washer and dryer right there by the bathroom ( it's really right there in the bathroom🤔) but it does work and there are cabinets above each one. Washer on one side and the dryer on the other. Great organization Lisa😊 Y'all have a blessed Sunday🥰
thank you!
We have a downstairs bath and upstairs. I bought one color bath towel and wash rags for downstairs and one color for up.
Great idea.
It’s so beautiful!! I’m so excited to be moving into my first farm house this summer, you are so inspirational to me! Thank you!😊
Thank you so much! Congratulations on your new home.
Hey girl. I am buying a Birch mattress because of you!! However when I use your code it is $100 more than if I use the promo on the site right now. I don’t have an extra $100 so I have to take the website code. However they should REALLY match your discount with the current promotions so you get the credit and they know we are buying because of you. I’m sorry 😢
Thank you for letting me know...I will check into it....
I love it!❤ I love the color of the paint, definitely moody! Looks great..TFS😊
thank you...we are enjoying the change!
The rooms are beautiful! I luv what u did to them!
Thank you!
I love it, it looks so cozy and beautiful.
Such a beautiful video! Thank you for sharing. Everything looks great!!!
Thank you!
Love love love this! And the simplicity of it. You make me want to learn how to sew! Please link the fabric/tablecloth and the target baskets.

@@FarmhouseonBoone The link isn’t working 🥲
It's definitely a warmer space. You'll need a light UNDER that bottom shelf now that it's so dark. Lighting is everything in a home and it generally takes people years to figure out how to do it. I like how your bottom shelf is low. My pet peeve in laundry rooms are too high, too narrow shelves. The bottom shelf needs merely to clear the top of the top loader washer in order to be actually useful. I wasn't sure why you sewed your curtains too long but I see you want to be able to tuck them beside the washer dryer and stay put. Your husband is great at "cutting in" with a brush ... particularly difficult with contrasting colors ... but he aced it!!! You sew like me ... on the floor, on the table, on the washer, on the back porch table ...lol ...anywhere I'm working and need a quick sewing task.
I didn’t personally care for the curtains. But that’s just me. She put a light up there but then the light was hidden by putting things in front of it and by having a curtain there.
@@PinkieJoJo I wouldn't have curtains there, either, but I'm not a huge fan of curtains, in general.
Hi Lisa! I love your sandals in the video.. where did you find those ??
Lovely as always! Blessings! 💙💙💙
Thank you! 🤗
Definitely looks cozy❤
I'm really enjoying the change!
Very nice change!!
Thank you, I am loving the new feel!
Lisa you can find battery operated pin up lights. They come with remotes. May be helpful. Or maybe not with littles stealing a remote 🤔😁
Something to consider for sure.
Love what you’ve done 👍🏻
Thank you!
Love it, am in love with the baskets!
Thank you!

@@FarmhouseonBoone Thank you, sweetie.
Hi Lisa it turned out beautiful I really need to learn how to sew 🧵 I do have a small laundry room the house was built with upper cabinets . I wash a load of laundry everyday like you do so I can only have this small wicker basket for my kitchen towels that are dirty .
The sewing I did for this is really very easy...I do have some sewing tutorials for beginners on my blog if you are interested...FarmhouseonBoone.com
@@FarmhouseonBoone ok thank you 😊 I want to learn about blogging and blogging as well any tips is greatly appreciated 😍
Oh, how lovely! Everything looks so clean and organized, and absolutely beautiful. Thanks for inspiring others! (And I need to go clean out my linen closet! :)
haha....thank you!
Your bathroom looks so pretty 😄
Great Video! Thanks!
You did a beautiful job ❤
thank you!
My laundry is not much larger, however it’s not sharing a bathroom either but I am in need of a sink in there.
We are in the lookout for a stackable unit that has large capacity. That way, my husband can put a sink in there!
Ps: I do enjoy my bath time too!
Nothing like a nice hot bath to relax in!

It’s a rare occasion. probably like yourself, but I never take that time just for me for granted!
Such an indulgence that I am so grateful for!
Beautiful ❤

I love it ..Good Job!
The black colour in the bathroom/bathroom is coming off as green on my big screen viewing, everything you do always turns out amazing Lisa. ❤️🙏🇮🇪
the color changes with the light through the day too
Me too! Dark olive green.....I guess the paint is beautiful no matter what colour name it has.
This turned out beautiful! May you link the fabric/ curtains you got? Thank you!
It is actually a tablecloth...I will link it..amzn.to/3JM19aJ

Hi from NC
Hello there!
I've never seen anybody sew on the washing machine before! I really like the look of the baskets.
haha, just wanted to get it done
Very nice
Thank you
I love the bathroom makeover. Nice color combo.👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you..I'm really enjoying the change.
@@FarmhouseonBoone That's what counts. If you were not enjoying it, it would have been a waste of time.
I painted my kitchen cabinets urban bronze. They look beautiful, but I worry sometimes that it’s too dark for our small kitchen. It’s just so much work to redo them lol.
Could you link those baskets? This turned out really pretty!

@@FarmhouseonBoone Thank you!
I wish I could paint that fast! I love that he chooses not to use tape or prepping of walls! That in inself saves a lot of time. Looks nice!
❤
love it, you've inspired me to just transform a small space that needs a lift. I think you could use one of those over the toilet shelving units. I have one from FB that is wood with some open an closed shelving and the closed cabinet is an antique glass. Would be perfect in there.
