Horizons Unlimited Virginia 2022: All My New Gear and Goals

- In the past, I have done some @OverlandExpo events but this is my first @Horizonsunlimited1 opportunity after being slowed down a little by covid issues over the past two years. On my first day, I was able to present and I have one more to come before I leave. This was also my first chance to camp in a couple of years so I am working on perfecting my setup for the upcoming WYBDR trip this summer. I am doing camp cooking every night here with my Sea To Summit X-Pot and just Trekker burner. It has gone moderately well, but I am looking to improve as I prepare for this big trip. I will also be testing and reviewing the Easthills Down Blanket instead of my fairly large sleeping system that I normally bring. If I can make do with just the blanket, I will be in a much better packing position. We shall see.
Be Gone For Good is built around the philosophy of bringing the greatest benefit we can while we travel. These videos are a way for us to spread the word about what we are doing and help anyone we can get involved in their own traveling experience.

Weather in Wyoming can be completely unpredictable. I lived in Laramie for about three years and I recommend being prepared for sudden weather changes. I was hoping to go hit a few days on the WY BDR this summer, maybe sections 1-4, but I may have to do it next year. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys hit it.
If you want to cut space and weight, start watching ultra light back packing vids. Some of those people have it down to an art. Same for food on the road. 👍🏻🇺🇸
I have been watching that type of thing but it’s also the level of motivation needed to preemptively deny myself little comforts. We shall see.
