Wow, nothing worse than sleeping and getting wet. Been there done that, 8 yrs in the military and saw times we almost floated away. Of course our little shelter halves did not have bottoms, lol New sub trying to help your numbers
All tents leak... Even the good ones will in time. What I like to do is find an area with some trees to suspend a tarp over top the tent, and also a tarp on the underside to protect the bottom. Tends to work good that way.
I recommend a tent seam sealant even if it is a brand new tent. Put it on both sides of the seams. I know with a brand new tent that is not something you should worry about but it is inexpensive and really won't take that long to do especially if you got a second person to help. I slept in a tent for 5 days during the week of VAMM21 and only saw a little bit of water because I forgot to close the small window in my tent. All my seams are sealed and I've had the tent since 2016 with no issues. I hope this helps and see you soon for the WRPR. Take care!
I missed this when it first came out. I don't think many tents would have been too good with all the rain we had there! I know I got home, and decided I was getting a new tent as well!
Good vlog well done. I use a tipi tent for my bike trips. Cheap $120 only 2000mm hh but the steep sides shed rain too quick for it to penetrate . In my opinion these so called bike tents are over priced when plenty of much cheaper regular small family tents do the job as good if not better. I dont want my soaking wet bike thats full of gas in the tent with me thanks.
Thanks for watching I have actually found a tent that is working and not leaking and believe it or not bought at Walmart stay tuned for a review come spring hope you enjoy the content!!!😎✌️
I have this same tent and it hasn't leaked on me. There are a couple of things that I noticed in your setup. You are on a slope and the tarp that you laid down in the vestibule (which is not part of the tent) pools and then overflowed into the sleeping area. I don't know if that has anything to do with the tent. As far as the water seeping through the top -- your guy lines are pitched too shallow allowing water to pool instead of directing it off the roof of the tent. The tent is designed to be be pitched taut, you have it slack and I believe this contributed to the leaking you experienced.
Glad yours is doing good the one we got sucked been tent camping for years so we did have it set up correctly and has it pulled taut that’s what happened to this tent when rain and wind came through and we even sprayed it with the weather resistant spray prior to taking it camping so we could set it up spray it and allow it to dry throughly. No the tarp in the vestibule isn’t part of the tent but it didn’t contribute to all the water on the inside a lot of the water was clearly what seeped through the seams. We returned this tent and actually went and bought a Walmart tent sprayed it the same way and have used it last few years without any leaks and believe me every time we camp it rains lmao I’m glad you are having success with yours but the one we got sucked!!!! Thanks for watching and commenting 😊✌️
Mandy, you're a braver woman than me. First drop of rain I felt I'd be gone to the nearest hotel - that's if you could even get me in a tent to begin with.
Came across your channel looking for videos about the camping in Tazwell. Good Stuff!!! I have never had any problems with the walmart ozark trail tents. My last one kept me dry several trips to the smokies and to sturgis. I just got a new one this year. How was Cavitts creek?
Thank you for watching glad you enjoyed the content yes we just purchased one of those from Walmart and so far so good on it so after this trip to Sturgis I will do a review on it so stay tuned!!!! 😎
Lol oh come on 🙌 live a little that comfy hotel room doesn’t give one that same adventure!!!! 😎 heck you don’t even know it’s raining outside from that hotel room just ask Sonny 😂
Well that sucks!! I've never used a motorcycle tent, so I'm no help to you. I know Her Two Wheels uses one. I think she did a review on it. Probably find it on her channel. Hopefully the one you ordered works out for you!
Yea I’ve watched her videos she uses the Lone Ranger tent it is very similar to the viz motocamping tent. Yes hopefully this one works better the material feels better so we will see thanks for watching!!!!
Lmao I can’t afford that fancy stuff and besides that’s why Sonny didn’t even know it was raining and posted that it was going to be a nice sunny day lol 😂
I've had that happen, too. Nothing like being wet when you're trying to sleep. When it's also really cold outside, it can be dangerous. Did you use seam sealer on the stitching? I've had tents leak and used a seam sealer that stopped it from leaking in.
Yes I did spray it good with seam sealer but still leaked the fly was not designed very good just wasn’t a very good tent design in my opinion thanks for watching 😎

Thumbs up that is terrible getting rained on while sleeping. Catch you later
Was most definitely another adventure thanks for watching!!!!

That’s a good idea but I would just like to go motocamping one time when it wasn’t raining lmao 😂

That is why I don't tent camp. It rains every time I camp. And I'm too old to deal with that crap. Lol. Hotels for me!
Lol now now one is only as old as you let yourself believe 😉😎it always rains on me too but it’s always a good wet time lmao 🤣
It sucks to be wet while sleeping! Hopefully you can find a tent that will work for you and keep you dry.
Yes it does and me too thanks for watching 😎

The tent by Holiday Inn is dry with shower and air conditioning.
