Emily, What a good friend you are.
Thank you Joseph 😊
Lucky friends! Gorgeous job!
Thank you Melanie! ❤️
Beautiful, Emily! I am sure that your friends loved it. Thanks for showing the metal lubricants... Never thought of using them!
Thank you Moranda! Glad it was helpful 😌
BEAUTIFUL...all the best for 2023
Thank you and hope your 2023 is amazing as well!
The dark stain is so lovely 🖤
Very rich in tone. One of my favorites! Thank you!
Nice job! I love that shellac. It comes in handy for lots of things.
Yess! Might have to label that hot sauce soon instead of howards feed n wax. Super useful 👌
The holidays had me behind with watching! I saw the veneer and I was like, "No, it's not cigarette burns, it's PECAN!!!" Whoo hoo!!! This was very cool to see! I love walnut, but I grew up around pecan. ❤❤❤ I like that you went with darker stain and toner, it makes it more modern, while still seeing those interesting pecks!!!
Thank you for sharing! I thInk I have a pair of side tables that are pecan as well. That will be a project for this year!
I instantly knew that the marks were not burns... and it was simply that I saw the mirrored pattern. Still thought it was worm damage from before the veneer was cut. 🤷🏼♀️
So, I learned something new! 😁
Lovely resto!
Thank you Zardox! 😀
Love this project! The outcome is beautiful!
Thank you so much Gyda!
Gorgeous turned out perfect 😁
Thank you! 😊
Java the Nutt made me laugh.
What a Blessing I'm sure you are to your friends. Beautiful restoration!!!
Awe Thank you Karen! 😊
Love General Finishes products, so cool to see them used in a video. This was a beautiful restoration-simple and kept the integrity of the piece. Thanks for sharing about the pecan, had never heard of this characteristic before and always enjoy learning new info about the many quirks of the wood universe. Subscribed!
Glad you enjoyed it and Thanks for Subscribing!
Wow, that was great to learn about pecan and its quirks! Lovely finished piece. Thank you.
Thank you for watching Colleen! 😊
Very, very, very well done Emily!!! Really came out sharp!! Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!
It's beautiful Emily
Thank you Mary!
I Love this piece!!! So Happy that your friend Loved it too!!! I do so love the graining of Pecan wood/vaneer!! Just has its own story of growing into the pattern!! Wishing you & your family a Very Happy New Year✨🥂✨
Thank you Cathy!! It has its own story - very well stated! I wish you and your family an amazing new year! 💛
I love this piece,,I’ve never seen wood like that,,,,,beautiful
I spent a long time looking at it trying to figure out what it was. Definately worth staring at. Thank you Dodd! ❤️
There was a few Bradford furniture stores in Massachusetts a few years back. I bought quite a bit of furniture from them 20 or more years ago.
Thank you for sharing Wendy! Did they have a similar tag on the inside?
@@ReconstructingEmily I don't see anything other than the brand name but I'd have to take everything out of the drawers to look. It could be that your piece is older than my furniture which is probably from the late 80s
Yay, a poem!! :)
🥳🥳🥳
Looks beautiful.
Thank you!
Loving the new color, it's a great looking piece! Happy new year, Emily! Looking forward to seeing more from you in 2023!
Thank you Richard! Happy new year to you as well! Hoping it brings exciting new adventures!
Nice work Emily. Well done 👏👏👍
Thank you! 😃
Beautiful. And thanks for the poem at the end. I was getting worried that you weren’t going to do one.
I've been thinking the placement at the end is ideal, but it really depends on what comes to mind as I am writing. Thank you Sarah for your support! 💜
Another beautiful transformation. Luckily it was in decent condition, so no major overhauls were required. I haven't refinished furniture in a long time, but I always used conditioning treatment before staining. It makes the wood accept the stain more readily, without blotches or streaks. I've never been a fan of shellac, it always leaves a brassy yellow tone to the piece. I know some people may like this, but I prefer a more mellow look.
I've found with some stains, like gel stain on certain woods the wood conditioner doesn't make much of a difference. I don't usually get a ton of streaking but I'm in a humid environment most of the time so that could be why. Your feelings on shellac are interesting! I've not had much issue with it using the 'clear' labeled can. I know I used a different brand before and had a very Yellow piece. Like 'try again' yellow hah. Thank you for sharing JP! Hope you have a great New Years!
It's beautiful. Great job.
Thank you Emer! 😊 Hope you are having a lovely holiday!
The piece looked great. You did an awesome job.
Thank you! 😊
Beutiful! It was interesting to learn about pecky pecan! Always enjoy your videos🙌. Happy new year, Emily!
Thank you Emma! Happy New Year 😊🥳
Where have you been? Glad to see you, love the piece!
I went back home to visit my family in western NY for a bit. Thank you Lorre! 😊
Thank you Emily, beautiful ❤️
Looks great! Welcome back. Happy New Year!! 🎆🎆🎆
Happy new year Gail!!! 🎉
WWW did it again and its beautiful! I loved it even before the restore, but it turned out amazing. Glad to see you back, I had wondered lol. Happy new year, God bless! ♡
Tx u 4 sharing 👍
Thanks for watching and commenting!
nice job! it's beautiful.
Thank you! 😊
That’s lovely. I do not know what designers were going for with the black splatter finish, especially on pecan pieces. I truly hate it. It looks dirty, like fly poop.🤢🤮 The new finish you gave this very large piece is much more attractive. And what a lovely gift for your friends! Happy New Year, Emily.🌸🥂🎉🌸
I'm glad to see you're back. Great refinish and explanations on all that was going on with this piece. Beautiful ending words as well. 💕🖖🏽🏳️🌈
🥰🥰🥰
That turned out beautiful. But what is a founders piece?
Founders is the brand or furniture maker. 🧡
You did a nice job on this piece. It’s a shame they wanted a dark stain-it was so beautiful natural.
It can always be redone again 😀 Thank you V bee!
Very nice!
I love seeing pecky pecan. I think it is beautiful with its dark marks.
