  • Big Ben did a good job on Shaq defensively, including his famous block. Shaq had a big game, but most of his points came without Wallace on him.

      +Lars Wölk Bist du Nowitzki Fan? jetzt dann auch Schröder Fan? What about team spirit. All players are saying it was very funny having Shaq in the changing room. Is Ben Wallace also a jokster like Shaq? I mean Shaq could really level up his teammates. Ben was emotional on defens ce and can shout out either after his blocks or rebound or no score of his opponents. What would happen if now Bulls Center Joackhim vs former Bulls Wallace or even Shaq. Noah is also strong. What would happen if Big Ben Wallace was drafted earlier. Ben Wallace was same year draft like Allen iverson Kobe Bryant stephon Marbury Marcus Camby Steve Nash....They did not draft him. not even in the 2nd round like Rodman or others. It really was a waste of draft rights not even got him in the second round. imagine you got 1st round allen iverson and second round ben wallace. or 1st round kobe 2nd round ben wallace or 1st round marbury and 2nd ben or nash and wallace. it really was a great first round draft but they forget drafting ben in the 2nd round. V St M U was not famous at that time. pity

    This video shows how even as one of the greatest defenders ever, his skills went undervalued. He was known as a fierce presence in the paint, but his movements around the lanes were so underrated. Rodman was a better rebounder, but Ben Wallace was a way better defender.

    • @portlandgoose4727
      @portlandgoose4727 11 місяців тому

      What? He has 4 DPOYs (tied for most of all time. And is considered by many NBA nerds to be the best defensive player of all time. Rodman has 2 DPOYs and not as many people saying he’s the #1 defensive player ever. Not to mention that Chicago gave him a max contract at age 31, at a time when that was well established as being just about the end of one’s prime. Not to mention that none of that money was for his (lack of) offense haha.

      Ben could not guard perimeter players. Hakeem and Russell could switch on perimeter players for single possessions but Rodman was the only player who could effectively guard star players from 1-5 for full quarters.
      Robinson was an underrated open court and transition defender who got a lot of chasedown steals and blocks. He was a great low post defender and rim protector like Ben but could also play better transition defense than Ben. I wouldn't argue if you put Ben over Robinson, but I'd go with Robinson.

    I believe there is only two player that could guard any position and do a good job and that's Big Ben and Rodman
    But I don't know if they would be as great in the league now as in their time, they would foul too much to be really a threat during a full game
    But at the same time they both had great basketball IQ so maybe they would adapt

    Big Ben was instrumental in the demise of the tradicional center. He proved you could hold the best center of all time to lame field goal percentages, if you are really strong and have more stamina. That is key to the small line up and the 3 point revolution. Few people give him enough credit.

    Shaq has problems with quick and agile defensive centers.
    But NBA hates iverson, they had to find a way to make him not win.
    But if u saw prime iverson, u know he was the best player to ever play the game

    Why this is a foul (And I'm a wallace fan and hate shaq by the way) At 3:00 pause, clearly Wallace's body is in contact with Shaq's. Wallace landed on him after jumping. Let it roll...pause at 3:05, clearly Wallace's forearm is plastered to Shaq's forearm. That is a foul. Still cool that he hammered Shaq, but let's be honest. That's a foul. Not even close to NOT being a foul.

      Me lol. It seems like Shaq is the worst at faking his misses. Even when Yao "blocked" Shaq... Shaq didn't even try to cover the fact that he let Yao do it. The layups are worse it's like he was told to throw the game because the misses look ridiculous.
