Oooh what an amazing instructional video! It made me understand more of the Latin moves, THANK YOU VERY MUUUCH!. I can now incorporate preparatory cadences in my music... Its a very sexy dance.I love Latin.
In classical music there is a branch called Romantic period, started by Mozart then Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, etc. It was a happy event. In the real world, sometimes the new would succeed and sometimes would not, such as the Puerto Ricans stealing the Cuban Mambo 2341 into Salsa 1234. But failed. Now the Salsa had to break on 2 also. The Puerto Ricans stole the Cuba Mambo, during the 1950 Cuban crisis, in New York City, and made it into Salsa. instead of 2341, they used 1234. Well, after years of experimenting, They copied also the count 2341 finally. George Wu, ARCHITECT, A.I.A., NCARB
Why did he say the second answer 234&1 was wrong. I think he was wrong. The best dancer Slavik was teaching 234&1 for years. George Wu, ARCHITECT, A.I.A., NCARB 2019-4-7
234&1 is how we count a basic cha cha step. He is asking how we count ONE BAR OF MUSIC in cha cha cha. When we count music bars, it starts from One not Two.
Why would you feel like that? His English is fine and he is definitely an experienced dance teacher who can express himself well enough for everybody to understand :-)
His English is nothing compared to his knowledge. We are here for knowledge, Sir. Such negativity is not allowed in the house of International Competitive Latin.

Sir, perhaps it does not matter any more who "stole" what from whom and who copied whom. Let's enjoy the music as it is :-)

A bar of music is always counted from 1. This means a bar of cha cha music will be counted 1234&.
I am german and I feel ashamed to hear him talking "english".
