I was at Best Buy buying a new 65" TV. The salesman said go get your vehicle and pull it up at the front door, I'll dolly your TV out to you and help you load it in your truck (assumed I had a truck). When he came out with the pretty large boxed TV on the dolly and saw my BS Badlands, he said I don't think it's going to fit, that Bronco is pretty small. I folded the back seats down. Opened the rear hatch and he and I slid that TV in with ease, with room to boot. The dude was amazed that it fit. I love my BS Badlands. What a great little SUV.
I already got the Bronco, for me personally the main things I care about with a car are Reliability, Mileage and how it looks. I prefer somehting that's not gonna breakdown every couple of months and something that doesn't burn through a crazy amount of gas. But I also want something that looks unique and thus is easy to spot in a Parking lot. For me the Bronco Sport just made the most sense as it's shown to be insanely reliable, gets about the same mileage as my last car and looks pretty distinct, especially if you get it in a more unique color.
The Bronco Sport hits that criteria for sure. I haven't run into a person who hasn't enjoying theirs yet and it's definitely a head turner. What color do you think you'd go for?
Excellent video Steve; I think this is one of your best videos. Congratulations on contiunally providing quality content and always looking to improve and add new features. Well done! If your were a salesperson, I'd buy a vehicle from you in a heartbeat. Both are nice vehicles; I'm drawn to the Maverick but the missus prefers the Bronco. We'll see what happens when the lease is up on our '22 Powerboost Lariat 502A. Have you heard anything further about a plug in hybrid version of the Maverick/Bronco Sport or any talk about AWD in that same PHE Maverick? I'm beginning to think it might be worth our while to bridge our buying decision until we see what this new Model T is all about..........
Thank you, really appreciate that! How do you think you'd build your Maverick if you went for one? Haven't heard anything yet about a plugin version of either yet but if Ford is keeping them around a plugin would be a good mid ground before electric. I was just in a Corsair Grand Touring that has the AWD hybrid - but the Escape which is the Ford equivalent only has FWD as an option. So in theory Ford could do it Haha Ford bringing back the model T for some nostalgia. If they go EV with a redesigned concept that would be wild
@@CarsWithSteve Hi Steve. Isn't the electric truck they'll be building at the new Blue Oval facility in Tennessee called the Model T? Not to be confused with the 100+ yr old model.....
Don't know if it's going to be called a Model T but it is based on the existing T3 platform which is their large truck/SUV platform. I'm thinking it'll be an electric SuperDuty, Explorer or Expedition
@@CarsWithSteve Oh okay.......... interesting, I wasn't aware of the nomenclature for the existing platform. That would make sense then. I had read and watched one or two videos where Farley had commented that the name for the new electric truck, T3, was derived from the phrase " Trust The Truck".
Great video, I really like your compare videos. I know a few people who have cross shopped between a truck and a comparable SUV. It really is important to know what you are getting and what you may be leaving on the table as part of your decision.
Thanks Louis, appreciate that! The truck and SUV shop is always an interesting one. I know a few soccer moms who went for the pickup and are loving it. Anything else you think these compare videos could use to kick it up a notch?
@Cars With Steve a couple of things I ended up looking at were seating positions and the comfort of the seats, amd driving dynamics. I have a 10yr old son so his ability to use items in the back such as cup holders, and someplace to keep his things like books and his video game or tablet were quite different in the truck versus the SUV, as was his ability to see. Which of course matters for drivers too! My wife always mentions blind spots.
great ideas to add in! Driving experience and blind spot visibility would definitely be good ones to include in these compare videos. Thanks for the suggestions
I owned the Bronco Sport Big Bend with Co-pilot 360 for 18 months and traded for a Maverick, XLT, FX4, Lux and tow package and there is no comparison to versatility. The Maverick is hands down the superior vehicle. The only thing I miss on the BS is the adaptive cruise. The mileage is very similar in each vehicle with the BS getting a very slight edge. The BS cargo capacity is much smaller as you have to infringe into the rear seating and the seats don't fold flat. Its a real PITA.
Really great to hear from someone that's swapped one in for the other. Good points that you brought up there looking at one vs the other. What color Maverick did you end up going with?
@@CarsWithSteve base, the lightest with no power/heat seats. i switch to eco after engine is at op-temp and it cuts down to 2cyl on the hwy. i still can’t get 4.9 like my old civic though, lol.
I know right? The drop in sporadically to the dealers I work with and are usually sold before they're off the truck. Hopefully that improves soon because people are loving the Maverick hybrid
Typo on sport length. Its 172.7” its said 127 or similar.
Hah, good catch! Thanks for pointing that out!

Nice, that Pepper Red looks great!
Get both!! I have a hybrid Maverick and my wife just got a 2023 Bronco Sport Big Bend!
I like your style! How are you liking the hybrid Maverick so far?
@@CarsWithSteve I have had it since last August and love it. The last 2 weeks I have been averaging over 50mpg!!
wow that's really impressive mileage. Now if only the hybrid Maverick was easier to get a hold of!
@@CarsWithSteve I waited 13 months for mine. Ordered it July of 2021 and got it August 2022.
Just a bit of a wait there. What car did you have before the upgrade?

nice color swap there! Enjoy the new ride!
We got a 2023 Sport Badlands since we already have a Ranger Lariat. The Ranger obviously already filled the duty as pick-up and tow vehicle.
Great call on the Badlands! Have you had a chance to take it off-road yet?
Just checked prices, surprised a Maverick Tremor Lariat is more than a Baby Bronco Badlands
Very close price wise but you're right it is a bit higher. Which one do you think you'd go for?
i get 5.3l/100km in summer & 5.8 in winter with the BS 1.5l.
That's great fuel economy! Which trim of the Bronco Sport do you have?

even getting 5.3L/100km in something that's 20% heavier than the Civic is wild. Nicely done
Good but the availability of maverick hybrid..man it's nuts..

My maverick came with the leather flooring 😊
Leather flooring? What?! What trim level do you have?
I'm just waiting for a hybrid bronco.
Same! Maybe in the next gen
Maverick offcourse! You can put a lot of stuff at the back!
So true!
