  • Worshiping the Feminine Divinity
One alluring thing about where I come from, that is Gujarat, we relate femininity with divinity, and vice versa. From greeting such as ''Jay Mataji'' i.e. Hail the Goddess, to festivities such like Navratri, worshipping the divine femininity is woven into the daily lives of our communities. Folk songs such as CHARAN KANYA and SONAL MAA NO VINJANO are a tip of the iceberg that sing of praises and power of the feminine and the divinity that dwells in every feminine energy.
Air is one of the 5 elements that impact spiritual enlightenment and here “Maa no Vinjhno”, which literally means a “hand fan of the Mother” is used as a metaphor for the might of the Goddess and how with the swinging of Her hand fan, the Goddess can maneuver our lives.
