- Tamara Starblanket is the recipient of the 2020 Nora and Ted Sterling Prize in Support of Controversy for her book Suffer the Little Children: Genocide, Indigenous Nations and the Canadian State. Starblanket’s book provides an international legal analysis of genocide-intentional acts done to destroy a group of people. Her book proves, according to international law, that Canada committed genocide against Indigenous Peoples.
Starblanket will receive the Sterling Prize at an award ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 29 at the Native Education College in Vancouver. Following the ceremony, Starblanket will give a presentation on Canada’s role in changing the definition of genocide and the legal impact internationally. The lecture will be livestreamed and free to view with registration.
It is again so sad to see this is not widely publicized in the mass media?? And we all know why!! Hypocrisy in its highest form!
And it makes me sick the Trudo are using it now for upcoming election this is old news if serch UA-cam the vids over 6 years old .say it was the goverment fault now CBC say it was catholic church ,in world War 2 who more at fault the guards or the leaders think about it

sorry but can you be a bit more specific? genocide is a pretty horrendous accusation. Can you please provide specifics, and can you tell me why nobody has been brought to justice? apparently these schools were not closed until the 90's. thanks
canada, australia & usa are champion of human right . . .
champions of infringing upon human rights throughout history. they may protect many peoples' rights at the moment, but their past deeds have huge effects that can still be examined today. At least in Canada and USA.

Educating a people presupposes their continued existence, there is patently no genocidal intent. It's shameful and dangerous to indulge aboriginal nationalists in their conceit of genocide.
Hard no. The treatment of native Americans by Canada is absolutely genocide. Right down the checklist canada hits every box. The "re-education" does not negate this.
