    I personally have zero problem with sponsored content. I understand the time commitment to create these videos is a lot and it's good that the creators are getting compensated. It's a job and people should not expect that they don't get paid for it. Of course, as long as the creator's message is still authentic.

      Eh, there’s more to life than money. I mean people who become famous often see their private and public personas diverge. You don’t get that real person once someone becomes famous. It’s always the packaged, focus grouped, polished, presented person rather than the person that was up and coming. There’s more to life than money.

      @@tigertank06 well put. I can’t tell you how many channels I’ve unsubscribed from because once the creator got some success, they changed into this hyper-packaged, hyper-polished, overly slick image, and lost the realness and authenticity that drew me in to begin with. I wish more content creators understood that.

    "Sponsorship is about putting your name and reputation on the line for someone else. It could be as simple as recommending someone for a new role, yet it's one of the most powerful cultural tools any organization has."
    -Lynne Doughtie
    Sponsoring is a great tool for fundraising for charity organizations and in generally makes good advertising for companies and businesses as a whole. Disney was great of sponsoring you when you were on the Disney Channel playing roles such as Kelly in 'Cadet Kelly' and Kim in 'Kim Possible'. It gave you a edge in the industry and a footwork in advertisement for Disney's products. In return, you were successful as you are right now making your own YT channel doing cooking and cosplay dress designs. Keep it up, Christy. You're doing good.

    • @nancykerrigan
      @nancykerrigan 2 роки тому +2

      I feel like the discourse goes like this: When they start out and their channel starts growing and they get a sponsorship deal the followers go, "Yay so happy for you to get that recognition and that coin!!" But then they grow and continue to get brand deals and they go "Oh they're out of touch with us now; they only interact with us when they're selling something or doing sponsored content."
      I personally don't mind as long as they disclose it. I too don't get why some are mad since most of these creators/influencers are doing this for some financial incentives in return. They either get paid through ad revenue (where people have to watch the ad for the creator to get money), sponsorships, sell merch, or ask their followers to directly financially support them or their work (think patreon, memberships, tips, etc.) I mean the more the way I look at it is the more they get financial support from someone else like sponsorships the less obligated I feel with financially supporting them as I can't do that for every creator I follow.

  • @Alexandria_S1222
    @Alexandria_S1222 2 роки тому +9

    As a insanely microinfluencer(not worthy of sponsorship size 🤣) I hate when people have to feel like they need to justify their sponsorship. I don't understand why people expect creators to just do this for free. It's absurd. You go girl! Make that money girl! 🔥🔥🔥

  • @catloverKD

    The main reason I hate it is that literally EVERYBODY is doing it. Especially when someone does a lot of it, and/or it's no secret that the person is "well off" financially or a bigger name (thinking of one person in particular) it just feels like more commercials on top of the ads that are already here. And, because the company wants them done a certain way, they feel fake, even if they're genuine. There are people I'm glad get it and there the ones who aren't constantly doing it, and that are genuine, and are smaller channels and lesser known people who could really use the boost. If your entire feed or every video is nothing but ads, it gets old REAL quick.

    I think sponsorships are fun and help me discover new things, what I dont like about sponsorships is a lot of people are staring to take this art form and turn it into a job. Which isnt bad but it isnt when you dont care about the craft..like drama channels fueling off the mentally disturbed.. Or letting unethical buisness sponsor you as well. As influencers i think its important to show off things that help our earth/community not scams or quick payday links. I like that you USE the products that sponsor you. Thats a good example of how it should be..

    I think it's of course a great thing that we reward people for using their time to make content. BUT there's something that has been adulterated(too strong a word? lol) about UA-cam and HOW people create content by having money so closely linked. I feel like money really drove up the usage of clickbait and I'm just NOT a fan of clickbait. True clickbait. When people make clickbait it is DECEPTION and sometimes outright lying. As long as people can do something "morally" I am FOR anything that gives individuals more control over how they are making a living and their time while doing something they are passionate about.

    A lot of "sponsorship deals" are scam. They target channels with 10k - 30k subs, because that's usually the first time when a channel gets such offers, and the UA-camr may be inexperienced at this sort of thing. One UA-camr posted a blow-by-blow account of how she got scammed by a deal. She got an email offer that looked legit, took the offer, and ended up getting malware in her computer that hacked her channel. The email sender had a fake domain name that was only one letter off from the real one.

    Sponsored content is being adopted by pretty much everyone at this point. There's no reason why you can't do your thing here. You have name recognition and a platform and people who will listen, like, and comment.
    Sure, it's tough to do. I barely scrape the surface of it and I have problems keeping up. However, it's no different than your work as an actor or director. If you have a passion for it, you find the time.
    I'm for you doing this. I see no reason why you shouldn't. Just so long as you're having a good time with it.
