I'm 28. I've loved my 20's era but I don't look at them as my 20's. Life and time is so much more than confining ourselves into 10 year time frames, when we do that we are unconsciously putting deadlines on our entire lives and will never have a chance at true enjoyment, clarity or relaxation mentally. My advice for everyone is to just take everything a day at a time and live in the moment as much as you can regardless of what age your physical body has reached.

As a financial professional in her late twenties, my biggest passion is talking with people my age. Financial fluency is incredibly important. We need someone in our corner to walk us through the value of a dollar, what that dollar can do for us now, and what that dollar can turn into for our future. Thank you for speaking on this. I always appreciate your insight and big sister chats.

I travelled to 17 countries in my twenties! Not only do kids slow down travel, but in your thirties you have way less energy and more physical ailments that get in the way of travel too. I'm so glad I travelled when I did! I second Christy's statement! ✈️ 🌎

I’m only 25 but one piece of advice I would give is to look at the quality of clothes. The moment you start paying attention to how badly or well made a piece of clothing is (like looking at the materials used to make the clothes) the moment you start to buy less. I don’t buy nearly as many clothes as I used to because it bothers me when the quality is not there. I used to buy crap from Forever 21 and stores like that and those clothes would not last.

Very good insight! I can recall a time when I was approaching my 20's and my mom at the time said, "Mychal, your twenties are going to fly by". I didn't want to believe her. So now I'm 33 and I'll never forget how right she was. Oh how we discredit the wisdom of our parents. 😅. Keep up the great work 🤙

Worst part about being in my 20s (especially now during the pandemic) is feeling like my youth is fleeing away/has been robbed. I was 26 when the pandemic started and now I'm 28 (will be 29 later on this year) and I wasn't able to enjoy a lot of things I did in my pre-covid days due to fear of getting sick and bringing something home to my family. Also the job market for my field has been pretty crappy so I was laid off and its been tough bouncing back, hence why I'm living at home. Overall, I just feel like I didn't get a chance to properly transition from my mid to late 20s and I still have SO much more I need to learn and experience that I couldn't do these past 2 years. I feel like an "old" person that should have my life together by now, but mentally I'm definitely still a 26 year old thats still figuring it all out. Societal expectations suck lol.

I'm almost 29, so still here, but barely. Your 20's certainly are crazy. I think her tips are really good. Especially the money one. I have known people who reached age 32 with massive student loan debt. Other debts can come as well, but that seems to be the one people make the most mistakes with. Community college can help, and state schools are fine.

Because since I’ve made plans for myself to chase my dream, travel more, join more things, find out what I want to do, what I want to be, and overcome my past/struggles. I made alot of Bulls#$% mistakes in my 20s . I made mistakes that I myself am not proud of (I'm 29 turning 30 in June oh geez 😳) but one of my biggest mistakes that I committed was when I was in my mid 20s and that was giving away my hard earned $$ money to my abusive ex boyfriend/fiance. And once we broke up (which Is another story) I was left in debt since me and my ex fiance had the same bank account together. He withdraw lots and lots of money that I was in debt. I owed chase bank alot of money it was a nightmare. I was forced to leave the apartment me and my ex had and I ended back in L.A
It took me a long time to get out of being in a debt. Now I'm at a better place and situation if that experience taught me anything It taught me never give the person (no matter how much you love them) your hard earned money. Money and love are 2 different things that people can't see the difference. Never give them money because if anything happens between the 2 of you, you still have money by your side to help you out. I believe we all make mistakes but it's important to not repeat them. That's how we grow as people. Christy your videos are inspirational keep making these videos. You're helping those who need it. ❤❤

To this day, I detest my 20s because I made a lot of petty, dumb, inconsiderate decisions that alienated my family and former classmates alike ( I only did it out of ignorance not to hurt them due to me escaping from reality because I have autism and have little friends and bullied through my youth to teenager).
I just thought once you’re technically an adult, people will back off and let you do whatever you want when you want. That was all in my mind and from many shows I watched. But emotionally and mentally, your mind and brain is still developing. I should have listened to my parents more since they are wiser and older and experts on adulthood. So now that I’m 30, I’m surrounding by wise, smart people and listen more.

Just came back from a solo road trip on the northeast coast... Even if it's not international just taking a road trip to a different side of your own country can be an experience, and it doesn't have to break your wallet!
I'll make it a point that even though the US is a large country in its own hemisphere and expensive to travel out of internationally, we're simultaneously blessed to live in such a large and diverse country that you could just hop in your car and drive for a day and not recognize the very country you live in, experiencing different regional cultures along the way (or in the case of a lot of the large coastal cities, even experience various international cultures firsthand!) ;)
(And I do say this as someone who's had the privilege to travel abroad to Europe and Asia)

I'm in my 30's now but I have to look back at my 20's and cringe hard. I was a hot mess in my 20's, mostly when I was in college. I was kind of in an emo phase, mostly because I was dealing with a lot of stuff in my early 20's. It was the first time I tried to pursue a relationship with a girl I had a crush on rejected me and since that was something shocking to me I didn't know how to handle it, then I was flunking my Pre-med classes and then decided to change careers since I knew I was never gonna get into med school with my GPA. Plus I had to break the news of my new career choice to my mom who freaked out because I was gonna go do something in green jobs or sustainability but since my college was reworking that major I couldn't even take the necessary classes for that major. Then I wound up getting a BA in psychology because at least I can do something with that. I should have had a clearer mind while I was making decisions about my future at Critical moment in my life. Honestly, I would have been better off if I fully leaned into my passion for tech back in college. I am now scrambling to launch my career in IT now. I could have done this way back then but at least I'm now making up for the mistakes I made then. I am taking classes and trainings for IT and now that the pandemic is winding down, I can do what I wanted to do for a few years now. I should have also went to more comic cons in my 20's seeing that now a pandemic caused me to miss out on like 3 years of them. As for fashion, my mom was right to tell me that my coveted finds at Old Navy were trash, eventually literally. I mostly now shop at places like American Eagle and, H&M. I know it's still fast fashion but It's all I can afford plus they're still better than Old Navy and even the GAP. And now I am starting to have things I should have had like 10 years ago like a savings account and even a retirement account. I never bothered to learn about things like retirement and even the Stock market because I never thought I would get involved in those things, plus I was a broke college student so no one was gonna waste their time to teach me how to invest or saved. I'm learning this stuff on my own, in my 30's. Yeah, I'm just another Millennial that will never own a house! But It's still good to look back at the last decade of our lives, see whwere we went wont, trry to correct our mistakes and advise others that are coming up about what is coming. Thanks for this introspective!

The biggest mistake I made in my early 20s was the idea of looking for permanent happiness. At the age of 28, I learned a long time ago that happiness is a temporary state. You can’t dodge pain and suffering, it’s part of life. Happiness comes and goes in cycles, as does pain and suffering. I’ve now come to accept that if I’m not happy, it’s normal and it’s ok.

You can travel with kids. It doesn't have to be work or mission etc. Families actually travel with each other more now since 2020. We have best friends traveling state side as a family in an RV and our other besties who moved their family to Italy. So be encouraged, it can happen! Think outside the box 😍. Love your videos, love the vibe you give!

I love giving back too. My heart is children, homelessness in my area & our local hospice that helped both my family & my friends. I haven't yet worked out how to help with homelessness in my current capacity. However, at Christmas time I give toys to the rotary club who passes them on to organizations, who know which children need them. I also buy raffle tickets tickets from the rotary club every year, the money goes to a lot of organizations who work with children. For the hospice, currently I donate items that I no longer need to there op shop, when my health is better I would also like to volunteer with the hospice.

One thing I did do in my 20s was lots of travel. I may not have invested as much due to travel but very grateful for the travel. Trying to learn more about investing in my 30s. I'm fortunate my dad set up investment accounts for me when I was 18 but I'm still trying to understand them so I can manage them myself and grow it.

Been married for 3 1/2 years, with my husband who I've been with since we were both 18 (although we met each other at 17 in hs, now we're both 26 and 27). While I wouldn't change having him in my life for anything, since he is my best friend, I do understand the feelings of thinking I never allowed myself to grow and learn on my own as a young adult since who I am has always been defined by being with him.

I laughed SO loud when you were explaining about getting the jacket because it looked like something Angelina Jolie would wear and then showed the big rip in the elbow. Oh no!! hahaha That's a "mood" as the kids say 🤣 Did it get caught on one of the trees during the walk?
I have so many clothing items that I've kept for almost 2 decades too since I never grew too much especially height-wise.🙈

Man oh man, I do want to travel more & to some degree definitely make excuses for not but....Although I get paid $19 an hour full time & have a house I live in rent free the next year owned by my church since I'm an intern there, my husband and I still struggle to put in money for a vacation. There's always savings to put into a back up car if mine breaks down, a new laptop, phone, unexpected pregnancy savings, house, etc. It's endless! Not to mention my husband pays for his schooling each semester and I just don't have enough time off to visit family, do youth camps which are required for my Internship and travel myself. Maybe we could afford to do day trips instead? Idk, but we don't have kids yet so les go bay bee!!! I'm glad you van reflect on your 20s with wisdom, Christy 😁

Travel with your kids when they are young :)) Like A lot! Even though it’s a lot of work and even with the pandemic, you can still do it. When they are 10 years old and totally comfortable traveling and being outside their comfort zone, you will thank yourself! Take it from us :))
